- Take a first look at the new "Greyhound" two-tone gray paint scheme coming soon to the Kato FEF-3! This new release of the famous UP Steam locomotive is scheduled for delivery to US Hobby Stores in late January/February 2022, and will be available with DC, DCC, and DCC+Sound versions available!

Nice! I like that you guys tried to reenact the 1989 Cajon Pass race in N scale!
should've added a ac4400cw or ge unit, as that was how they did irl
I know what I'm going to ask for at Christmas. Thanks Kato!
I’ve been waiting a long time for the greyhound FEF-3 to be in N-Scale!! Thank you Kato!!!😭❤️
Wow, The steam locomotive looks so great ! Very nice video! Thanks for shearing!
Why do so many of the FEFs have a wobble.? I returned my first one and received a replacement without the wobble. The GS4 has been excellent i.e. didn’t have the ‘bonus’ wobble and, like my replacement FEF, runs a real treat.
I was just going to say the same thing. Awful lot of wobble in the video.
FEF looks like drunk
Hey Kato , take this in consideration that you guys need more freight cars ,so I recommend tank cars set with buffers would be a big seller since you guys make amazing freight sets!
Pre-Ordered mine from TrainWorld yesterday! can't wait for it to come!
How many numbers will the greyhound scheme be available with ?
Just one at release, #8444
How can the GS-4 Daylight be coming soon if I already own one
I am going to pre-order and buy both FEF-3 8444 with excursion train and the GS-4 with Daylight train both with DCC sound
Getting the DC versions and installing sound.. that way I can have both an dnot miss out. One may have to sit on my desk for a year lol
Looks great. Riding kinda rough tho
I may just get the GS-4 Daylight instead. FEF-4 wallowing a bit
And I bought the GS-4.. it so beautiful..
Awesome!
The real question is, will you make 4449's water tender?
Hey Kato USA since your bigboy is coming out soon any chance you could devleup two versions like one has oil tender and other version with coal tender?
Hi Scott , could you say where you heard about a Kato “ Big Boy “ release in the future , I am too cautious to get over exited in case you are mistaken - hope you are right 🥳
That was one wobbly prototype...
The new paint scheme is going to be very popular and I am certain the finished production example will be a smooth running locomotive as is found with all Kato products. Will there be a Kobo Shop offering with dcc and sound added?
Yes, these will be available with DCC and Sound alongside the standard DC and DCC offerings.
Although the factory versions are planned to have factory ESU sound the Soundtraxx decoders used here are still pretty impressive
The sound is actually from our Analog Sound Box!
When ppl think they know everything 😂😂
LMAO
Finally, the 844 is available in gray.
But no, unfortunately only the version with the number 8444! :(
Kato brings a new diesel locomotive in 3 to 5 versions, why do new steam locomotives only come in bits and pieces?
Should I pre-orderc this loco now or wait for a later release with number 844?
You guys are making it really hard for me, I'm mad at you! :(
the greyhound is out of quarter a bit ..... anyhow nice that can get that tho
i hope mine dont wobble like this one
had 2 of the fef-3s and both broke, mixed feelings on this
What Broke? The Axel?
The FEF is wobbling side to side. That does not look good.
It was an early hand painted sample. The video was shot in Japan so we didn't have a chance to redo it. The final versions run just fine!
Maybe it's just me, but I don't think you're doing yourself any favors by showing off a locomotive that wobbles so badly, pre-production sample or not. That's just horrible.
While it's not ideal, it's what the factory in Japan shot for us and sent over for us to use. Don't worry, the final product will run like a Kato :)
@@KatoUSAinc I’ve had 2 that ran exactly like that before finding one that ran smoothly
Bought one a few months ago, new. Wobbles so bad I got rid of it the same day. Haven't seen one yet that hasn't wobbled real bad.
@@KatoUSAinc I'm a big fan of your products and own literally over 100 of them, so hearing that my concerns are noted and that the finished product will address those issues is a good thing. Look forward to buying a non-wobbling greyhound.
