His arm is slightly exposed in 6th position. It depends what school you coach French or Russian schools. French has it in sixth position and slightly bend. Personally, I rather keep my forearm parallel to the piste and hand behind the guard.
Question: you explained parry 7 to be supinated, but it looks pronated. Which way should the palm be facing? Thank you for this video, it is everything I was looking for!
Hum Second and tierce .... the forearm does not need to move only rotation of the wrist, Prime sorry ... the right wrist should be at the same height as the left shoulder and the right elbow should be at the same height as the right shoulder. The hand should be rotated more to release the long part of the handle. With his arm in front of the mask, how can he see the target? In the second position, if the arm advantage moves downwards, there is a good chance that the hand or forearm will be touched. etc ... etc ... Quarte, contre de quarte, the wrist movement is non-existent with the forearm, so it's slower.....
great memories, i was very lucky to have two awesome maîtres from french and hungary (but i had to stop 1997)…
Parry three is also used to defend flicks in foil.
i love this, thanks

I'm not slow, I'm just in Dark Souls 2 mode
4 and 5 are backwards for pronation/supination
Thanks for posting Joon Yee chuah. Really helped me
I do wish Jost would actually turn his head to look forward :P

7 is palm up. 2 is palm down. The fencer in the video does 7 in an almost neutral way, but if you check out his 2, it’s clearly far more pronated.
ON GOD IN SIX BABYYYYYYYYY!
thanks im new to fencing
@Maitre Mark golf is boring lmao
Great vid.
Nice video. But. Foil and epee: 5 is pronated. 4 is supinated.
