My mom's name is also Marylee. She passed away Christmas of 2020. We loved following Marylee the shark together! ❤
Mary Lee is my Mom's name. She passed Nov. 2020. Mary Lee the Shark has a special place in my heart. Live in SC on East Coast. Sharks Always Fascinating to me. Thanks y'all.
I love ocearch. Every shark week I buy myself and my adult kids new shirts and clothes to support you guys. We have been watching shark week since its beginnings and watch it every year. My oldest is 26 so we've been watching for at 20 years. Now its my turn, at 50 in 2023 ill be heading to Martha's Vinyard in hopes of seeing my first great white. I can't wait!
Research some of their criticisms. There's some surprising stuff that theyve been accused of and many researchers don't condone ocearch. Dead sharks, people who quit working for them because they believe they're harming the sharks... Things like that.
I initially discovered Ocearch thanks to Mary Lee’s story years and years ago. I know the batteries in the tracking devices have a shelf life and only last so long, but I was heartbroken when she no longer pinged her location. Here’s hoping she’s still alive and well swimming up and down the eastern seaboard!
Bless you for looking after them❤❤❤❤❤
I was watching them obsessively since Guadalupe Island thank you Ocearch
Even the sharks know that Nova Scotia is where it's at, baby! Kisses to Caper!
I live in Halifax and we love you guys!!
Seriously!!!!! Absolutely amazing. These sharks are things of my nightmares but what a fascinating IMPORTANT creature. Must be preserved period!!!
I followed Osearch for a long time. I hope they will show more of their documentaries??😊😊 They were good shows.
Loved Mary Lee. Hope she is still out there somewhere.
Love.
So grateful for your work. Big Cheers from Blandford Nova Scotia! THANK YOU!!
💙🦈💙
I remember being Ina science class that got to video call the founder. That guy is so cool and he jsut sat down for 45 min from the airport. He was my inspiration to love science more than I already did.
It's mean you lost Mary Lee , I'm very sorry . I hope she will show up. God bless you all
It’s so amazing how their movements are. Like how far they have gone. They don’t sleep like us. They are always moving. They can kinda get into a sleep like state but that’s about it.
Thank you for all you do! I swim at NSB in the winter in FL and they are everywhere!
I hope that u guys get to keep going. I am a huge fan of the GW and I want to see these animals prosper. Hopefully one day I will get to see one of these amazing creatures in the wild. To see Deep Blue would b a dream come true.
Thank you Mary Lee !! She’s like the KoKo of the sea .
I sure miss following Mary Lee’s journey 🦈 I learned about her when she came here to Jacksonville, Florida and she came to our area 3 years in a row ❤
Love mary Lee one day I will work with OCEARCH team great work I love Ocean's life
Such valuable research... let's hope you keep getting funded!! 💙🦈💙
Help keep them funded--let their previous sponsors, like CAT, and like governments, know how much we appreciate their help and work!
This is fascinating, I found you guys by accident when I was looking for Orcas :)
Thank you Mary Lee and others for reminding me to stay out of the ocean.
😂😂😂
Yea what the hell my mothers side is from there lol ha ha ha ha I was swimming in there ha ha ha never again mark my words never again saint lawrence never again
Yes
Ahhh.... I see you have a great connection with Mary Lee as well. 🙏🏾 She too, told me to stay out the ocean. She loves us... 😌

I love these guys. They prove science can be fun
It's interesting that as a kid I had always seen on media and articles that white sharks coming near our harbor in Nova Scotia was ones that had health problems and were essentially confused and lost and they had no interest in our coast cause it was too cold. But they do like coming here in the summer when the waters get warmer. Especially around Lunenburg and off Yarmouth.
She is so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ love watching her to see where she goes
Thank you for educating all of us , I’ve always loved Great White Sharks and as a Cape Cod pt resident, it’s been joy watching them down here
I want to move to Cape Cod just so I can have the rare privilege of seeing one or two!.
Thank you for the time to research and help all kinds of life.. land and sea
You have opened the eyes of so many, of the need for further study of these amazing animals. Thank you❣️
I love Mary Lee!! I am trying to do help as much as I can.
Remarkable work, with these incredible beings.
I think she’s surfaced around Atlantic City and Cape May a couple of times . As well I’m pretty sure she was the white the professor from New England called the beach patrol in fort Lauderdale and had them clear the beach because she was right out past the breakers
Hey, a girl gets hungry.
An absolutely brilliant initiative. Conservation, through protection and via a better understanding of these amazing animals that live in the oceans that we share, is so important. In AU, where I proudly come from, Great White Sharks are protected until they kill a human. Its there natural instinct and survival plan to attack a prey in order to survive. Unfortunately it can come at the expense of a human life. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it creates mass retaliation. We need to better understand where these magnificent animals migrate, live and feed so we can manage any further human casualties.
Tks
Amen

I love what you guys are doing, what you represent as hope for the planet and the story of your evolution. Kudos!
You love seeing a Shark lying on a the deck of a boat struggling? Seriously?!
I love you Mary Lee
I read that Lydia travelled to the UK and then the Irish Coast Amazing.
Lydia came over here for tea and crumpets with the Queen
I hadn't heard that so thanks for the warning! I won't be so keen to go for a paddle in Tramore this Summer, if we're even allowed to the seaside this year!
Catch and tag a shark or two, just like that, amazing!
Pause the video in 3:21 and see how cute this creatures are.
Bloody amazing! Girls called Lydia are extremely rare let alone finding a Great white called Lydia. What are the odds?
Very interesting project. Wish you all the best.
May I recommend tagging from the boat, it makes life much easier and it's much less stressful for the shark. As you guys are marine biologist Im sure you would know of the damage taking the sharks out of the water and putting them on a timber deck does to their vital organs.
What happened to Mary Lee’s dorsal fin? It looks suspiciously like damage caused by the drilling of holes for the tags.
Thamk you Heroes for doing this to our Great white population.
I’d love to go work with these guys, brilliant.
Félicitations les gars!!!
Where are these tagged beautiful sharks today?
Awesome work!
Really wish we knew where she is. Miss her..
this is cool thank you all
I love marry Lee the great white shark
Did anyone from your crew get a new phone a few years ago in manahawkin nj at a target. The guy showed me pictures on the boat and said that tagged a huge great white. I wanted to know if it was this crew it was over 6 years ago maybe 7.
I miss her
Wow. They are so awesome!
Looks like an awesome job.
In 2010 I caught a great white about ten feet long in the channel into Barnegat Bay while fishing from a boat. The shark towed our boat around for over two hours, and the DNR police stayed with us for about an hour. It came up once to look at us with an eye the size of a tennis ball. Eventually the tide started going out and the shark went nuts. It was caught on a pretty heavy rig with a whole bunker and a steel leader…I had been curious if we could catch a shark while fishing for the usual species like stripers, blues, flounder, sea bass etc. The DNR police thought it was the coolest thing. My reel drag was burned up and frozen, but it was worth it to see that such a large predator can be living so closely with unsuspecting people
1. At 10 ft, that was a youngster, a teenager.
2. I hope to God that you let the poor thing go.
3. Praise Jesus that you haven't met Lady Deep Blue. She is an ADULT, just over 20 ft. She would take a very dim view of your shenanigans.
@@SandraNelson063 there was no way that shark could be brought to hand. It was just way too big. So it had to be released one way or another. And the DNR police who were present reminded us that white sharks are a protected species that had to be released. Of course we had no idea what we were into until late in the fight. It was huge and refused to surface until late. The reel drag ended up frozen from the strain, and the shark broke off the line. As for other sharks “sticking up” for a hooked shark, that’s silly Disney fantasy land anthropomorphism stuff. No shark can possibly take a “dim view” of humans fishing. In fact, in many places now the sharks swarm fishermen and fishing boats and eat the fish they catch. They LIKE fishermen! In many places the sharks have turned into a bunch of Democrat freeloaders trying to snatch and steal handouts from hard working people. And they are so cutthroat that they frequently attack each other. I don’t know where you obtain the fish and meat you eat, but being the actual fisherman or hunter is the only honest way.
Fantastic
Thanks
Awesome Work.
I wonder if ya do the great white Kathryn research she's been tagged
Wow...amazing group of people, 👍🏻
Can you find the tracking info on the net? so i know where not to swim?
There's an app.
How many around Australia? We would have to have some big sharks here
I don’t get why make tag devices in such a bright color, i mean aren’t they disruptive for shark’s ambush techniques?
I dont think the colours are relevant but i think its not the best gor the sharks if u track them with devices just that u know where they are they are living creatures too
@@gamf5574 well, if this is for conservations purposes then they are more then welcome to do it
Chris: you may be the first millionaire I respect.
How did they know the sharks’ names? Cuz science?
Super 👍 Thank you
Wah dahsyat
Hi ! Italy.
Respect!
I discovered Ocearch by watching shark wranglers
So Hope to MEET YE, I'm An Islander.."Innishmore, Galway, IRELAND. Been Studing "GREAT WHITE'S My While Life , to an Extent Spent 5 yrs in Australia Diving & Studing them. I retired Military 22yrs, Now Marine Biologist.Basking Sharks, My Regulars..! 😂❤
I love this show, but after hearing so many scientists say this is harmful to the sharks, leaves me at a crossroad.
I have wondered myself, if you remove this shark from its natural habitat of floating in water, is there any possibility of truth that placing them in the cradle is actually harmful to all of the organs over time, as these organs were never made to be out of water and crushed under the shark's own weight? I do wonder where is the research to prove this?
They are very careful. Part of the blood work that they do is testing stress levels. That's how they worked out the parameters of the operation. These are people who LOVE sharks.
Does anyone know what has happened to Her? 😟
Remember kids if you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life
Please explain
@@JackSparrow-gl9sv If you do what you love doing, you can't call it work!
@@lightespeed thanks🥰
@George ❤❤❤
Why not have an app that allows ppl in the ocean to know where these white sharks are...this would prevent attacks on surfers and all kinds of peps
There's an app for that
Where is location of this?
Canada Eastcoast
Heroes! 👍
more and more i lesrn or hear about them i see a way different look on yhem
I like Ironbound
🦈
The stress you put on these sharks mouths with those hooks is not good. There must be a less painful and less stressful method
Its for research purposes. Maybe go and tell the Japanese and other South East Asian fishing companies to stop mass killings of sharks purely for the dorsal fin?
wish they catch deep blue so we can see how big she really is.
There gonna need more barrels.
💙💙💙💙
All I think of when I hear Mary Lee, is Quint's line from Jaws...
"Here lies the body of Mary Lee; died at the age of a hundred and three. For fifteen years she kept her viginity; not a bad record for this vicinity."
Is this what aliens are doing to us ??
Here lies the body of Mary Lee.... died at the age of a hundred and three .... for sixteen years she kept her virginity...... not a bad record for this vicinity! Seriously , she swam in the same water i did....
"freindly east coast shark " yea right lol 😂
First recorded death ftom great white shark in Maine water 2019 ,an in mass
Is it weird this is what I wanted to do when I grew up ?
You want to customise sharks fins with aftermarket tracking devices..... sounds cool
Or just assist in helping
Amazing now do that for humans
RELEASE THE KRAKEN !!!
And they tell us no sharks on cold Waters like North Atlantic lol😅😅😅😅 these place is just 2 hrs away from Titanic 😅😅😅😅😅They said that could be never happened they are like in these cold waters 😅😅😅😅
I'll never wear a lifejacket again
I think you find that if you ever fell overboard lovely Mary Lee would bite you in half
Mary Lee seems a bit thin and hungry, maybe next time you could feed her one of those big and fat Ocearch researchers 😁
TYRANNYBLOCKERS LIKES YOUR WORK.
Man, that cheesy, Hollywood, dramatic music... makes me feel like I'm on an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race.
You must be Ru Paul ya weirdo
🤣🤣🤣
why don't they just leave them alone...
We wanna see the shark not you guys for crying out loud 🤦🏽♀️
