Excellent video. Very instructional. I love that you don’t waste a lot of time talking about yourself or what you had for breakfast or why you bought a Boxster. You get down to business the appropriate speed and helpful.
Simply brilliant! It took me four tries, but the closer I studied the outstanding, detailed video, the more confident I became! Then, IT WORKED! This was a miracle that, from what others have said, would have cost me a $1,000 at the dealer or my specialty shop. I did it for $50 and about three hours of easy work over two days (I ran out of enthusiasm on the first day). Thank you SO much!
thanks for you efforts to produce the video and this nice instruction. Could perfectly change the display of my 911,996 4S Cabrio without any issues. thanks & regards, hf
Nice fix but when you increased the blower fan I expected to see black foam coming out the vents because it happens to all of us. If it hasn't happened yet it will then you can post a fix for that one too ( involves removing AC/heater display plus radio and cutting behind it)
I tried to do mine like you showed but my new LED screen stays black.. Maybe my new screen is defective? or I made a mistake along the process? The Unit works the way it should but no readings..I'll buy another screen from a different ventor and repeat the process..

Thank you Sir! This was a huge help and saved me a bunch of money. Moreover, it’s nice to take pride in what you drive. Much appreciated.
Outstanding. Well explained. Thank you for your instruction.
This was a great post in my view! It covered everything I needed to replace my display. My wife commented, 'Manuel is back!

It did eventually blow out black foam haha
Ha. Mine eventually petered out but I'm still finding bits now and then.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you.
On a 99 996 you only remove the top screws, the bottom two holds the channel
Great tip!
thank you!!
Do you have a link to the LCD? Thanks for posting this. It's so easy to do, which is good to know.

Does the broken lcd prevent it from working entirely, my air and radio dont work, but they are getting power and turn on periodically.

It’s possible the back light is bad
I guess you could change the color by changing the orange background to a different color?
Looks like it!
Hasn't anyone else noticed, you don't get the same orange display as before. Does anyone sell the screens that will show the oem display?
Nice $37 fix.
