In this video, I will rank the best bosses I have ever fought and the way I rate them is with 3 factors: Challenge, design, and enjoyment. Challenge is not how difficult the difficulty of the fight but rather how balanced and fair it is based on the progression. Design is the creativity of the bosses which includes sprite, visuals, and creativity of the attacks (Visuals will add less to this value because attack creativity is the most important). Lastly Enjoyment is just how fun I find the bosses to be.
All the footage are in nohit because I really enjoy doing nohits. The first boss in the honorable mention is Seth from Split Mod

the reason why i like mutant, barely any new attacks, they are all stuff youve seen normally in vanilla just tweaked to become harder and challenging, sort of like a Veteran pro test
Seeing all the attacks from all the previous bosses being thrown at you in one battle is just so badass. Almost all the attacks are new, they just shoot the projectiles you have seen before

I have some things to say:
5.Yeah,Novanial looks like it completely makes up for the first phase.
4.Turing really did make Eclipxie the best boss in the entire mod when the rework came.
3.We are kinda past every mod having the first boss in the desert, but man this is an exception, it's incredible how far it came from the the mediocre looking fight before.
2.This sphere looks like an awesome fight already, can't wait to see it when it fully releases.
1.Not really a surprise, but he is there for a reason.
Also, I'm excited to see the reworked Nihlus fully.
Yeah, that Nihilus change looks really cool.
The visuals overall are really pretty and all and I'm interested in seeing the full fight.
(As well as seeing how the mod develops over time)

Scarabeus was a extremely bad boss before the rework,now it's an actually good boss
I'm kinda new to calamity, just finished my first run as a mage and am halfway through my melee playthrough. Glad yharon got a place, but I gotta admit that these bosses looked far better than most in calamity. Kinda disappointing that Supreme Calamitas did not have a spot, but I may just have a bias towards that fight.
Only thing I’m mad abt is that Seth was there and he said nothing literally never seen visuals like that
Galahis was alot of fun in the rework when i fought him, i was actually the guy to suggest all the reworks and whatnot as well so it makes me double happy for it

@@dreadsoul9633 i hoped i did. i looked at what made made alot of bosses good and made suggestions based on how the owner could implement those changes into the boss, looking at this list and what ive learned from my research is helping alot with ideas for my own mod
the bosses in this top 10 look so great to fight and it really makes it satisfying when you defeat them
mutant whas for me one of if not the most epic fight i had the pleasure to fight
and after many tries i actually managed to beat him at last

I love astrum deus from calamity. I just feel like the synergy between the two worms' attacks along with the incredible music makes it so much fun, and you dodge them so elegantly. I only wish the lasers didn't make me lag so much for some reason.
I prefer providence but astrum Deus is pretty cool as well
i liked the old one back when it was ten worms at the same time.

@@Imf4ke don't forget the solar system of probes that orbited that one worm and moved to another one if it died. also, who was scared when they saw ten instances of "astrum deus has awoken" in the bottom left corner? that gotta be burned into the brain of anyone who saw it.
Astrum Deus? Terrible. Idk if it is just me playing in death+defiled, but it is the worst boss in the entire mod.
This channel deserves more subscribers. Other than the English being hard to read (which is understandable since you're foreign and English is really hard to learn), this channel is great.

Holy crap, when I clicked on this video I thought it was another one of those good quality videos from a youtuber with 100s of thousands of subs. When I checked to see what youtube channel I was watching, I was shocked to see 150 subs! Great video, definitely a worthy channel to sub to. Looking forward to more stuff!

Also my favourite boss would probavly be supreme calamitas due to its boppy music massive fight and that you cant lose focus with the massive build up from the godslayer to auric tesla and how the attacks arent fully random, no matter what mode it is still extremley hard and how you get that cheer of relief after beating it
I see that is a fine opinion. I personally don’t really like the fight for a few reasons: 1. Outdated visuals; 2. The fight difficulty is because of the absurdly nonsense 1000 damage. Anyways thanks for the complement

Prototype is literally named prototype so I'm fine with them being slightly imbalanced
Also, eclipixie is by far my most favorite modded terraria boss
A mod and a Boss/Enemies that has no Contact damage and only does so when they actually have to attack is automatically a 10/10 for me as a Melee Main.

The thing that concerts me about that bossfight is that it actually has a cool AI and not just enranged duke fishron AI
From my limited Terraria modded experience I can say that my favourite boss has to be Astrum Deus. Dodging both worms in the second phase feels great and the alternating behaviour of them, as well as the lasers and mines constantly keep you on your toes. Additionally, the music is beautiful and elevates this fight to a whole other level for me.
Honourable mention goes to Astrum Aureus, he is also very cool imo

My favourite boss is the plaguebringer goliath from calamity. I really like its design, the fight and the music
That boss is great, but two things personally take it down. 1, the plague is pretty annoying and 2, the bosses hitbox is bigger than itself. Luckily next update that's getting fixed

Wonderful video and wonderful list, but i'm honestly surprised you didn't include a single boss from the Split mod! They have a lot of charm and quality put into them, even if i completely agree with your list.
Split Mod bosses are interesting, too bad that gameplay wise they are a bit lacking compared to bosses on my list so despite the amazing visuals I didn’t include them
i expected SCal in the Honorable Mentions but i think it is ok even without my favorite boss 😢
Pretty sure he didn't mention scal because as an acual fight it is lacking, it doesn't require quick thinking, nor is it fair, it's mostly just rng in bullet hell sections, and has no telegraphs as well as almost every attack having that brimstone hellblast color, which just becomes disgusting to look at after seeing it for so long
I don’t know if your aware but the lost siblings the first phase has a perk were every time you kill a sibling the other siblings become more powerful and gain new AI. And when all other siblings are dead except one it will stand still and use one powerful attack over and over again. I just found that quite interesting.

I’ve been hoping to make a boss like the mutant in the future. Except over do it in a way in the sense he has WAY MORE attacks than any boss ever needs. And each time you fight him I’d gonna be completely different. Along with it all having a huge back story and split mod quality animations.
Little surprised Supreme Calamitas isn’t on the list (or even honourable mentions). For me it’s the most intense and climactic battle in any mod. And sure “calamity is so cliche” but good stuff like that is cliche for a reason!
Supreme Calamitas is just RNG. She’s a terrible boss and a weak note to end on for Calamity.
Agreed, I'd put it right up at the top, but to be fair not everyone enjoys such brutal fights. It also works in Calamity's favor that Dokuro made absolutely killer music, especially for certain endgame bosses. Soup especially has beautiful synergy with her fight and music, with her insane difficulty and the fact that the music was basically written to be a final boss theme. She may not be the final boss anymore but she always will be in spirit as the namesake of the mod.

It's hard don't get me wrong and the the music is good. Can also be fun but in terms of best bosses it isn't good enough for that for me. Unlike with the bosses on this list there's moments in the calamity fight you can't dodge without the rod of discord. Calamity feels like a bullet hell for the point of make the fight hard not fair. It's not the hardest fight ever but I dislike some of the faze designs for the reason i pointed out Earlier. Calamity can do alot better is my main problem tbh for example providence is easly my fav one from Calamity mod bc it's hard af but also fair. A boss doesn't need to be unfair to be hard. Unfair means not fun most of the time.

I gotta be honest, my favorite modded boss is Calamity’s DoG. I know it’s so cliche and generic, but I just enjoy it way too much. Mutant definitely had more challenge and more of an anime vibe, and DoG has a lot of the generic worm boss AI you talked about in the last video, but the feel of the fight is just fantastic for me. Then again I’m a sucker for the final big three Calamity bosses, and Dokuro’s music, so I am a bit biased. All these bosses look epic too, the Terraria modded community is cracked.

I recently played through polarities, and it was a very fun mod. It adds no extra modes or difficulties, but the bosses are all very difficult on just expert
I know ai saw him in the opening scene for Honorable Mentions, but one of my personal favorite modded boss so far is Seth (split mod). Not because his fight is particularly good, but because his visuals and boss theme are absolutely incredible. I don’t think I ever managed to beat him, but his visual design still blows me away.

Anyway these modded bosses are better then terraria actual bosses and they are keeping hooked onto terraria very nice of these developers to make these mods for free they do get money of patron but still I do wonder what will be the top ten best modded bosses in five years time well your underrated
Mutants attacks sometimes feel like floweys attacks in undertale when he has this bad photoshop form
I love calamity for the challenge and mostly the soundtracks, roar of the jungle dragon and blood stained calamity are some of the best music I've heard especially in a mod.

I think you should include clarity when judging bosses. In my opinion, a perfect boss would be super challenging and have the new mechanics or new uses of old mechanics, but also be clear and show you what to do. That doesn't mean its easy, but like, projectiles shouldn't blend with the background, there should be a relatively limited amount of things happening at once and that kind of stuff. That might by hard to do in Terraria though.

After some time I find Seth to have too much flaws and very repetitive attacks but bcs the visuals are over the top I used it as a bg footage
People’s opinion changed overtime and in Split Discord go check the top suggestion channel scroll up to the first message and you can see my Seth critic and it had the most upvotes out of any suggestions
Yeah honestly Seth is challenging BUTT his fight is so short for a big FINALE boss, i really thought he would at least pull "HAHA You Haven't see the last of me" and go in phase 2 but it is just the same pattern over and over again. Over all this is my problem with some bosses that it is lacking variant of attack.

Tbh i actually like the structure of siblings fight. Even though its too chaotic and with a lot of projectiles, it does not limits you in an area, which makes challange managable. Having a chaotic boss can be refreshing among all those fixed pattern bosses(i like them too, but different experiences can be fun).

Gonna real quick throw in a boss suggestion, my personal favourite boss is The Warrior Of Light from a mod called Stars Above. The mod itself is just an upgrade tree with some weapons here and there but this is the only boss it adds and my god it's amazing
This video is out before the boss becomes real. I have never tried it but it looks pretty cool and yes I am already aware on what the mod adds

For me , one of my favorite boss are Blushie , yes from BlushieMagic mod ... It's so hard ( before 3 nerfs lol ) and i love bullet hell bosses like SCal , Mutant

the idea for fixing lost siblings:
Solar: tries to ram you most of the time, shoots small ranged projectiles. Phase two boosts defense by 100 other siblings until solar is dead
Vortex: Shoots most of the projectiles, very fast shot speed but low damage. Phase two makes vortex mostly invisible and boosts the projectile velocity of every other sibling until a vortex is dead
Nebula: Tries to dodge most of your attacks, teleports around shooting homing projectiles. Phase two makes some clones of nebula like a lunatic cultist, but they actually have health, killing clone will result in shooting two big, homing, slow projectiles lasting until nebula is dead
Stardust: Summons random minions of stardust celestial tower every 15 seconds, their damage is boosted by 50%. Summons little stardust minions up to 9 lasting until stardust is dead. Phase two will make summons do 75% more damage and will spawn stardust mobs every 10 seconds with an increased number of minions (11).
Probably my second favorite is astrageldon from the catalyst mod, the way they brought it back is just insane, it's really fun and gives you gear that can last up until even yharon, and it's just so satisfying to beat it, and for me my third favorite is probably exo mechs since 1.5.1 calamity update, telegraphing ares really saved the fight for me tbh
the blushiemagic fight from Elemental Unleash mod is pretty cool
I actually don't like the Mutant boss. Way too convoluted for me and I always die in one hit.
Yeah Mutant is not a boss for everyone so that is understandable

It can handle Abomonationn, but not Mutant for some reason.
The mutant and abomination are good fights don’t get me wrong, but my problem with them is that your own weapons and projectiles make it hard to understand what’s going on

Nihilus holds my opinion as best boss, but I can agree that Mutant is done incredibly well.
Have you done astrageldon in the catalyst mod? The particals and effects are amazing! Note that astrageldon used to be in a old calamity update and now is replaced with ravager.

@@Imf4ke wouldn't be surprising. Scal is hard and unfair. Some things you can dodge without the rod of discord which makes the fight feel very annoying. Imo it's pretty poor boss design relying on rng. Mutant on the other than you can dodge any attack with skill and game knowledge alone. Though beat scal 5th try in my first calamity playthrough I can definitely see pepple struggling with scal more

Favorite music-wise: Crabulon, Jungle Dragon, Yharon, Slime God, Eclipxie, Calamity Extra Music Brain of Cthulhu.
Mechanic-wise: Mutant, Abominationn, Deviantt, S Cal, JD Yharon, The Advisor.
Overall: Slime God, Eclipxie, S Cal, JD Yharon.
S Cal is nice, but so is Nebulus. I really like them both, S Cal due to the rewards you get for beating her, and the music is great (We love you, DM Dokuro.) Nebulus gives you a mini Neb to follow you around and it's sort of a King Slayer III situation, as if you beat Nebulus once, and then fight her again, it's a specter. Mutant's a nice little thing to fight, it's challenging and fulfilling too

I still don't get how a boss you said was poorly designed can top one you rated at a 97/100. If you ask me, being an interlude into a better experience does not a spot on this list make. The leadup to a bossfight is just as important as the boss itself. Part of the problem with moon lord, for example, is that that pillars are awful and I don't think there's a single soul on the planet that actually likes them.

Personal favorite is Anahita and Leviathan. Sure it’s pretty easy compared to other calamity bosses but the fight is just so fun. Also the concept of fighting a giant leviathan sea creature is awesome, plus anahita compliments it really well. The backstory is also really sad to me. Wish the fight was a bit harder than just circling around the tho.
What I like about these fights is that their very dynamic. I absolutely love a fast boss that requires serious dodging

What about adult eidolon wyrm?, i kinda hate (in a good way) to that boss. Once i first try calamity mod,there i was adventuring in the abyss finding some items, i was stucked in the room with a chest, so i suddenly teleported using Rod of discord. Not knowing the effect of chaos state will summon adult eidolon wyrm in abyss, i got jumpscared, then died XD. I thought its over, but when i respawned, he got summoned again but this time near where i respawn, got dead again. Love and hate for that boss.
Is there a Shadows of Abaddon Discord? I almost cried seeing that the mod isn't on the newest Tmodloader version
What was that boss before the honourable mentions, it wasn’t named but it looked like it was from starlight river or something with those insane graphics
impo The Radiance EoL is the best boss for me. The difficulty is unfathomable, the satisfaction of beating it after memorizing it's paterns, and of course the outstanding visuals this boss shows how it'll probably be my fav boss for a long while. I'd say it's one of the best if not the best boss revamp mod for me.

it's like the destroyer with a few extra attacks, looks nice, splits into two for phase 2, it's just a really nice boss personally, but some may not feel the same opinion Xp
Astrageldon from the Catalyst Mod will always be my favourite bossfight, as its an amazing revamp of the already fun Astrageldon Slime fight, and- well- it's *astral*

they're really just cool and they feel like a whole different game
I was Hoping Mutant would be #1 and i am glad he did got #1, he deserves it! Hes like another Player more godlike than you, as he challenges you to Prove how strong you have become, and almost all of the moves the attacks and the patterns are One of the best, some are kinda silly but thats because he’s attacks are Terraria theme which is a world thats magical horrifyingly brutal and plain Dumb and stupid at times.
And as much as i am not a fan of Anime itself i do agree that it does seem like it, and i freaking love it for that.

These bosses are all well and good, but can we just appreciate the perfection and godlike way the Supreme Calamitas music opens the final battle in an incredible story. It practically screams climax of the adventure, like every moment that came before has boiled into this one moment. The war to end all wars. 0:05

Now here's why I fucking DESPISE him choosing Mutant over someone like my second favorite boss (Yharon)
ALL OF THE ATTACKS IT USES IS BUFFED BULLET HELL ATTACKS THAT HAVE ASSETS FROM REGULAR TERRARIA AKSKALWOEODJSH
bro complained about Yharon having Duke AI, at least it has it's own attack designs.
Boss fights that are on a timer tend to not be very great, due to the timer basically telling you to hurry the hell up or the fight is super short and it's there to give stress for no reason. Novaniel says screw that shit, i'm a good boss that has a timer. Also, a ducking pre-eye boss reached the top 3, that just proves that you don't need to go Hardmode or post moon lord to make super amazing bosses
4 minutes for Novaniel is actually more than enough, just don't get hit too much and your dps is good. It forces you to get good at dodging and actually learn his attacks if your gear are not that great and attack wise Novaniel is great and the empowerment per minute is a unique way of making a boss progressively harder. But yeah I can see why you don't like it

The difficulty rating is based of the balance of the boss based on the progression and also the loot that it gives and not how hard a boss is

SoA did a good job of boring me to death with its bosses, i didnt make it up to lost siblings but hey at least they got that ones second phase right.

I don’t really want to talk about the current one in this video since it will be changed anyways but I think the now Nihilus is a great finale boss but it lacks challenge and the attacks don’t feel extremely unique. About zero I think it can be a good boss but it needs a lot of tweakings such as making it not cheesable (the fight just revolves hiding behind walls for phase 1) and the phase 2 of the fight contains so much cheap hits potential and rng heavy

The reason Nihilus and Neb are not on the list but just the HM part is because I haven’t fought them they just gave the footage to me. They being Dan and AP. Nihil rework and Neb looks awesome but I am not sure what to say exactly because I never actually fight them
