The "End" of the Gauntlet...in Impossible Difficulty | Cassette Beasts Gauntlet Update

- Description erratum: After redoing the math, it only took me 8 hours total to get to this point, not 10 hours as previously written.
Wanted to upload a short clip of me getting past the last major milestone in the gauntlet, on impossible difficulty. Fights in impossible take a ridiculous amount of time to clear through; it took me a total of about 8 hours of attempts and two sessions to get through the first 150 rooms. I unfortunately got knocked out in room 144 so the streak ended there, but you can continue the most recent rest carriage and that's what I did to bear witness to this.
The second session was 2.5 hours long and was recorded and streamed live in Zero's unofficial PVP Discord server, and the following people tuned in to the stream at different times: rubyzapfireite, mircaledive, thatonesnake, sav, Amaisora, Ultima.
To Bytten Studio, if you're watching this for some reason, thank you. This game has changed my life in the past year or so, and I am only where I am right now thanks to your work.
And yes, this means I myself can go above level 200, in case you're confused by that.
Just to clarify: this can be achieved in any difficulty; I just did it in Impossible because I can. This is in response to some misconceptions I may have accidentally caused in the Bytten Studio Discord.
I had no prior knowledge of Cassette Beasts. This video popped up in my reccomendations, and I thought "I'll just check it out. I am probably not going to be too interested." I am now waiting for my wifi to get better, so I can dowload it. I blame you for getting me interested in this amazing game.
Thanks :)
Well, glad to hear the propaganda spreading. Hope you enjoy your stay in New Wirral.
Oh, i just beat magikrab and thought "ok so unique stuff ends here that was pretty fun". I definitely didn't expect that
Same, they even give you a reward and everything, I thought that was the end
how did you beat magicrab ?
@@fooleydj4101 I think i ran a different, bit weaker strategy, but fruit fussoli to always fuse turn 1 with first aid (or whatever the 5 AP move that heals 50% HP is called) lets you out-tank everything on normal mode short of the end boss fairly easily
I wanted to watch this after getting it myself and man that was such a wild surprise and the music I was so HYPED! This update really was a lot of fun and I hope / loofward to seeing if we get more content or a sequel! Also awesome team you got there!
No way i would have sanity to complete the impossible difficulty, so thank you for losing yours to show off this amazing reward, lol
You don't have to do this in impossible; this can be encountered upon hitting carriage 150 in any difficulty. I just chose to do it in impossible because I can.
Wow, good thing I didn't reset after I defeated magikrab in Impossible difficulty. Genuinely thought that the other 50th floors would just be another Mgikrab again. Also finally someone who uses dual wield Stab and healing via Bloodlust lmao.
Yeah, Bloodlust is underrated, and is especially useful when the opponents have overspill disabled. It just so happens that one of my Bloodlust stickers from pre-1.7 had a heal attribute on it, so it also helps with sustaining HP especially given Miss Mimic's frailty.
As someone who has had his ass kicked in Gauntlet in 3 times (maybe my sticker setup fucking sucks lmao, I only got 50 hours); but also developing a game with a gauntlet, I have some fun thoughts.
1. I think what makes this work is Gauntlet modes are kind of the secret key to boss/enemy rematches that make your gameplay feel earned. It is now you, at a level you were probably were much different at when you started these series of encounters.
2. Hilariously on my own, Morgante killed me 3 time because I (like a pig head) tried literally every strategy like haunt, or trying to rush to a kill before 10 AP. Nope, I apparently just 'needed walls'. I call that a bit obtuse, but more hilarious really (I had wall teams, IRONICALLY I just didn't try them.) I swear I tried 5 different sets of fusions throughout those 3 and eventual 4th victory tries.
3. THE FUCKER MAGIKRAB smirks at me with a devilish gleam "OH I SEE YOU FOUGHT NEW ENEMIES!"
I can't hate the level dedication to the difficulty and challenge lol. I really can't. Also, I just evolved one for my own team and it replaced my Lobstacle in my wall setup. But yeah, basically it is a mode that makes you also remind you that the mode increments to my post-ish (I haven't fought all the Arch Angels rematches yet, I did fight Lenna though. I and think I still have a floating sun wheel to get too)
Finally 4. I think I will never forget carriage 20 where Aleph 'didn't know who I was' and ended my first gauntlet run. I believe in the final fight in the main game itself, I resonanced him to death lol. What can I say, but a DEUS EX CALIBUR!!!
So yeah, thank for you clarifying. I will try this on Normal difficulty first, I am not insane yet.
Ok, this is just silly. But in a good way
Damn, pretty cool! How do you handle Poppetox in the gauntlet with Multitarget on all of your monsters?
Funny thing actually, I never encountered Poppetox in this run (but very quickly ran into it when i did a separate normal difficulty run). But the team is built to handle that; whenever I see a miniboss (Rosehood does not have echolocation, for instance), I switch leads so that I can use New Leaf. Then from there I can wing it, because even with effigies, some of my tapes are tanky enough to survive a hit, so I can New Leaf again after the main attackers are in position, and I also have compatibility Fireproof and Hardback in conjunction with Mind-Meld to mitigate reflected damage.
I see I have work to do. A new level cap is a prize to be hunted for lol.
Please make a sequel after the main game as a dlc, i am willing to pay full price for it 🙏
Does the Same old Story chiptune have vocals when you fuse? I would love to check,I just suck at this game ahahhahah
Nope, it's just the instrumental version.
@ Oh,what a shame,still an amazing Easter egg tho
This is epic
Wait, bad joke gives psychic damage?!?
It's exclusive to this fight, as it is a modified version of Bad Joke just like the other moves that I unfortunately was not able to show off.
@@Lerycide Oohh, ok, thanks for clairifying!
How do you make stab in the dark hit so often ?
Due to how accuracy works in the game, Gambit is a flat +100% increase in move accuracy if it goes above the baseline 100% accuracy, making it always land. Evasion Nullified, applied through Bad Forecast, also lowers evasion so much that even the 1% accurate sleep moves can land reliably.
Oh I see thank you !!! And how do you achieve so many critical hits ?
@@raphaelmathiot5228 one of the side effects of having so many accuracy buffs is also increased critical rate chance
