I have the Samsung A7 Lite LTE tablet and that tablet has 3 speakers and not just 2 like most youtubers claim. The front facing speaker for the phone is actually an Loudspeaker as well. So it has one down facing and one up facing speaker but also one front facing speaker. 3 speakers in total. The sound the Samsung A7 Lite has is day and night better that any other brands. Even outside in windy conditions I never had to turn up the speakers more that 50% to max 55%. In normal hearing conditions the speakers are turned up about 35%. The sound system on an tablet is by far the most important and on this one that is awesome. Actually in the A9 manual it says that the third front speaker exists only in the LTE model SM-X115. The front facing speaker does not show up at the non LTE (WiFi only) model X110. So watch for that. Things are a bit confusing about the 3rd speaker on the non LTE models. Is it there or not? On my A7 Lite SM-T225N model at least yes. My model has 3 speakers. The manual of the A7 Lite is just shit and not nowhere as good as the manual for the A9 tablets. At least the manual for the A9 tablet shows the front speaker only for the X115 model (it does not say SM-X115 only but it just mentions the front speaker for the SM-X115 model). So I guess the up price for the LTE models gives you an additional 3rd speaker for much much better sound. People easily will be lured into the buy of the non LTE models and may miss so the benefit of 3 speakers.

A Mediatek Helio G99 is not bad at all for a 150 USD 800 p tablet @ retail. Personally I prefer at least a 1080p or higher with a 10 in. or higher display but that's me. For someone looking for portability but with a larger display than a smartphone while still being "budget" the Samsung A9 might be the "sweet spot" .
I personally wouldn't due to the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023) has a similar chipset and a pretty colour accurate IPS display, is slightly cheaper, even at retail and has a slightly bigger display. Now with the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2022), while being more portable and having a better display (IPS) it simply doesn't hold a candle to the A9 performance-wise. With that being said a lot of people loathe FireOS and being chained exclusively to the Amazon ecosystem as the default (Yes one can sideload the Google Playstore but many people won't bother to find out how despite how relatively simple it is to do. Most want immediate out-of-the-box convenient functionality in their tablets.). This is why I think the Samsung Galaxy A9 would be the budget "sweet spot" for most in regards to actual portable use-case tablets.
I have no issue with the screen resolution on my Tab M9. Even my 14" laptop is _only_ 1080 & that is also totally fine for me. To each their own I suppose.

One thing I do like about recent lenovo devices after having owned a few of their older ones is that the version of android they are using is pretty close to pure android. Their older devices around the Tab 4 era were garbage though. I recently went from a Xiaomi phone to a Motorola G73 and I instantly felt happier in life due to the lack of bloat and other useless garbage the G73 didnt have compared to MiUi. A deal came up to pick up an M10 Plus with the SD860 chipset for cheap - I bought that.... I now need a smaller tablet to replace an old phone that i was using as a tablet thats coming to the the end of its life and the M9 was an easy choice given the clean stress free OS. Resolution is a little weak but. I only use it for youtube, light web browsing and listening to podcasts anyway. (im not a gamer) so the M9 will be more than fine.
I have both and the Lenovo M9 has a better set of speakers (very noticeable for me). The M9 has a screen color adjustment much better than the A9 as well. Samsung UI also makes the A9 seem slow versus the M9. Makes it seem like the M9 is faster even with the lower processor. However, I'll keep the A9 as the M9 only came with the 3/32 variant in our country vs. 4/64 on the Samsung A9. With Android 13, you're left with just around 10gb for apps and updates on the M9 so it's really just a streaming device at 32gb.
@GR-qr8sg For gaming the Samsung A9. For everything else I would prefer the M9 if you can get at least a 4/64 version. The speakers and screen are better with the M9.
