I bought the Passport SE a couple of days ago. I have to agree that it's kinda awkward type at the beginning - but after getting used to, it works like charme. Came from the Classic
The video seems somewhat biased in favor of the Classic, in my opinion. This is odd in that the Passport is superior in nearly every aspect. The camera, display, and battery are clearly better on the Passport and none of these specs are really even close. The Classic even lags behind in processor and RAM. The ONLY positive I see on the Classic is the full QERTY keyboard, but even then, once you spend a few days with the Passport's capacitive keyboard, you love it. To me, the Passport was BlackBerry thinking OUTSIDE the box while the Classic is a regurgitation of why people switched to iPhone and Android. I sold my iPhone 6 just a few days after switching to the Passport. I would have never done that for the Classic.
If I can use console games for comparison, BB Passport is somewhat similar to Nintendo Wii with its breakthrough. While BB Classic is somewhat similar to XBox 360 and Playstation 3, classic redefined can't be ignored to be a though and strong player for BlackBerry comeback's efforts
Tong Zou LOL you can't have a second Phone when you carry the passport in your pocket! there's simply no way to get the Phones out of your pocket anymore! i used to hold a BlackBerry Q10 and a nokia from work but since i got rid of my Q10 and got a passport i can't carry any other Phone with me.... i wish they just brought out the Q20 instead of the classic.. just like the Q10 (which was the best BlackBerry ever made in my oppinion) and just update the camera, processor and RAM similar to the passport! that would have been great! those were the only bad things about the Q10 since i got my 10.3 update my Q10 went alll slowish...
I just wish they had raised the specs on the Classic a bit so that it was an upgrade from the Q10. It's only an upgrade for an Blackberry 7 user. So they'll retain some of those older Blackberry biz users, but may lose some of us who had already moved to a Q10. I wish the Classic had a touch sensitive keyboard, a little more screen resolution, a little more power, a removable battery, and a better camera.
He pretty much tried defending classic over passport. Speakers Camera Performance Display quality Battery backup Built quality And most importantly the unique eye-catching design. Everything is neglected.
Just imagine a Blackberry with the form factor similar to classic and borrow the rest like display quality , speakers , battery from passport . That's the phone that any BB fan would have no complaints with ......! Still love Blackberrys' 😘
Debating on which one to buy and hang on to for about a year. Both have great sling points. I had the classic back in 2015/2016. My bb Priv just broke on me (I dropped it). I think the battery size and capacitive keyboard is swinging me in the passports direction. Plus it's such a pretty looking device; even in 2018.
Maybe, but we all have our own taste for design and functionality. I'm a Class user and these two models are the most beautiful of all BB phones for me personaly, and I will get a Pass too and have both of them. I'm a minimalist guy and for my personal taste, Pass is a little bit more sleek looking model, so I will do a swith from a Class to Pass just because of design. In terms of specs, I'm satisfied with Class, and I know that a keyboard on a Class is much better for typing in compare to Pass, but nevermind, I will quicky used to a Pass's keyboard too. And I must say that these two models are the most beautiful phones for me personaly, and that they have a better looking even than Key 2, but I repeat that's my personal taste for design. I simply don't like BB models with fully screen display because they look too ordinary like Android i iOS phones and don't cause the reaction of people who's always staring in these two beauties and sayin', "Wow, what a beautiful small phone". Ps. Sometimes, I replay to them by sayin', "Yeah, this is not iPhone". xdd
@@axamesvc I currently own iPhone xr but I still use of BB passport as my secondary device and having used z10 and play book in the past and I still have them with me..BB will always be very close to my heart and I’m planning to get classic or bold just to experience the old school qwerty but classic is much usable than bold in 2020.

Have both and use my Passport as my main device. What he say "classic keyboard is 110% better" is funny, at first try you feel you know the old 4 row and it feels "normal", but give the 3 row a while and you will love it. Guess on this review they have not use the passport for to long..:) But Classic is the one you want if you want a more pocket friendly and 1h device tho.
Oh yeah! Class & Pass are two the most beautiful BB phones ever. I have Class and I will get a Pass too to complete my collection of these two elegant beauties. Like if you agree with me. ;D
How do you deal with that resolution which is quite low compared to the passport? I think, a brilliant and clear display is very important for such a phone. The passport has a even better display and camera than my 2016 Samsung Galaxy A5. I really enjoy the crisp look of its SAMOLED display... I am seriously thinking of buying one new for myself even now in 2017, but i really can't decide. Actually the classic with its great keyboard and the, in my opinion handy, trackpad thing there in the middle is my favorite now (I know that the passport does have capacitive keys... And by the way, sorry for my awfull english skills)
How different is the battery life in these devices?? My iPhone 5S from new has had 60% at around 2pm with full night charging.... Is this the case with the classic?? I'm choosing between awesome battery and okay keyboard (passport) or amazing keyboard and good battery (classic) which one is better with battery???
Both are great phones but The Negative Thing on the Passaport is that it has No Physic Key numbers. Only letters. Why didn't they put the numbers as physic as well?

Samir Noor Just for your info, it is the heaviest smartphone out there at 196 g, heavier than Note 4 at 176 g or Nexus 6 at 184 g. Don't get me wrong, I love my Passport because of the excellent built quality. But because of the position of the keyboard, it does get a bit tiresome when you type for 30 min or more. The reason is because you have to move your thumb very low, you can't hold low because of the weight.

Rubbish review. The passports keyboard is wider and easier to use. Enabling scrolling via the keyboard is better than having a button that does the same. The classic isn't wide meaning webpages suck. Who has a smart phone for videos? I browse way more than I watch videos.
Actually the Passport is in terms of its internal specs better than my current Laptop :o Even the graphics card could handle most of the games better :D And that's what it is meant to be. A device that allows you to keep your Laptop at home and have all the benefits of your computer in your pocket. Even though there are phones that seem to be faster than the Passport (especially newer ones) it's for its current retail price (silver edition where I live about 250 Dollars) top notch. The greatest benefit btw is its operating system. Iphones get slower with every new phone on the market, but even an older BlackBerry is (after several years of usage) still as fast as on its first day. The phones are meant to last and the design (silver edt) reminds me somehow of the BB Porsche Design smartphones. You have to get used to it, but it's brilliant design and won't break after 2 years of usage. Even WhatsApp can be continued quite easily on the phone and it only takes you about 10 minutes to set it up, which is quite okay due to the fact it is actually not meant to work at all :)

If u want BlackBerry classic get the Q10 because they are both identical in specs I'm being literally serious, and the Q10 is way cheaper. If u have money then go all out and get the passport
They are Bluetooth so yes, AirPods will works with BB10 smartphones (Passport, Classic, etc...). Just use the small button on the back of the AirPods Case to pair them the first time with the phone and voila !
Oddly (given that the original purpose of mobile phones is to communicate), the point of these phones is to enable really effective communication on the move, without the need to get a laptop out. Everyone can receive emails on their smartphones, but for BlackBerry users (and I am one), especially those who touch-type (which I do), the use of a qwerty keyboard for emails and texts is invaluable. And BlackBerry 10 has brought BlackBerry phones up to date in relation to internet browsing in particular. I use a phone mainly as a business tool, and I have used a Samsung with a touch-screen keyboard which I did not like as much as a physical keyboard. I am tempted by an iPhone 6, as the keyboard seems (my daughter has one) to be pretty accurate to use. I have a Passport and love its screen for reading documents and emails/texts, but want a spare phone since I really need a backup (since I am self-employed and find myself anxious when I am not contactable via mobile during the working day). Friends/relatives who are software or ICT professionals tend to love iPhones, but they are not touch-typists and use their phones very much as multimedia devices. What distinguishes BlackBerry phones? Well, apart from the physical keyboard (which, as I say, is a major factor for me) and in the case of the Passport the really useful square screen - useful for reading and working on documents, that is (and that is also a major factor for me) - there are 2 things which stand out for me. One is the trackball feature on the Classic which (I had a Bold 9900, so I know) is likely to be really, really useful for e.g. selecting text. There is nothing like it on the iPhone. The other is that the Passport is really good as a satnav device (the size of the screen, as well as the software, working really well in that regard). One negative aspect to the Passport is the fact that its corners are quite sharp, so (1) you need to have a good case for it to protect the phone in case you drop it, and (2) it does not slide into and out of pockets quite so easily. Some people think that the Passport is a bit big, but overall it has probably about the same surface area as an iPhone 6 Plus. So, I am interested in getting a BlackBerry Classic, and suspect that I will use it as my primary phone with my Passport as a backup and for satnav purposes. An iPhone might be a better phone in some respects, but it does not have a physical keyboard and it does not have a trackball. Finally, in answer to your question "what is the point of these type of phones?", my answer is that there is much point to them. And, I say, your proposition that there are "better phones out there" has to be seen against the background of your apparent/implicit assumptions about the purposes of an individual phone user.
I would have preferred the classic but unfortunately, it was sold out never to be replenished in my country and I managed to get the last passport available island wide. Please not though, whatsapp is dropping support and there's no guarantee of future whatsapp usage. I hope BB looks into this or else, it's bye bye BB for good. And yes, like Raj said, the keyboard on the passport does cause cramps. It's really just not convenient. Have the time, I'm just trying not to drop the phone while typing. The classic design is still the best imho.

My Passport easily fits in any pocket of my choosing. And unlike iPhone 6 Plus, it is made of stainless steel that does not bend. :-)

The Passport's keyboards are excellently done. The hand gets tiresome after a long period of typing is due to its forward falling weight.
U must have a weak hand lol...it's light enoguh...plus the phone is made to use with 2 hands
