Such a treat to see this. In 1952 my family moved to Duluth. I was in the 2nd grade. My father was with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was there to study paving runways on frozen tundra at the airbase. We lived there for 18 months and then my dad was transferred to Omaha where he was the resident engineer overseeing the construction of the Strategic Air Command Center. My mother thanked the colonel for getting us into the tropics. Before we moved to Duluth we lived in Denver. But my parents were born and raised in San Antonio Tx.
Great VIDEO Joe, a little bit of everything, no snow, wind, sleet then snow and no power. Melissa sure isn't in Louisiana anymore! But she seems to be adjusting to her new home and weather like a trooper. Thanks so much for taking me along. Be safe guys 🙏
This winter has been tooo long! We received about 7 inches this past week again and I am like soo over it. Enjoyed the video. I have had the pleasure of getting to fly over the Great Lakes and to me size wise they are great Seas as they r soooooo huge.
My wife and I love your videos! We moved from Wisconsin to Georgia 3 years ago so we not only watch for the entertainment, but also we feel like it helps us stay connected to the north.
In Georgia we have just gotten over pollen season. I had to use my leaf blower to remove it this year. We have Robin's all year long down here. You live in a beautiful area. Thank you for flying our flag.
I think I saw Tony Chachere's seasoning?. I had friends from Louisiana back in the 80's hook me up with that stuff. Love it. Now we have it here in Minnesota. I put it on everything. Crazy how those waves pushed ice in to Canal Park. Packed it solid. Thanks for the video.
Hello from Ohio, I enjoyed your video, especially the cooking of youre lunch, potatoes, onions and hamburger, looks very delicious on a cold day. God bless you sir.
Your voice is so soothing! You should be in radio or broadcasting. I use to drive across country and God I hated driving up North! I’m a Southern girl! 🤣😂Beautiful home & land!
I dread the thought of snow. Further south than you here in Cincinnati so shouldn't be too bad just hate driving in the snow and ice. Thanks for sharing and that food looked great!
Thank you for sharing this video. First video I have seen of yours and I really enjoyed it. I was sad to see it end. My family and I live in North Carolina. We had a little bit of snow and ice back in December 2018. , but not any since then. I don't like weather like that, it is too dangerous to drive in. Well hope to see more of your videos.
Living in Australia we don't get snow in the suburbs, so watching this is so cozy. Your tent video's should be linked Joe. I only discovered this site by watching and heard you upload this site via your tent. Great video. Agree Bryan Resch I am also a winter person.
I always like to put my potatoes in by March 15 here in Grayson County, Va.. They can go in early since they are an underground plant. Some other root vegetables are like that as well. It was 60*'s, dreary, rainy, yesterday (12th), thundered heavily a few times late in the night, if we had a storm I slept through it. Lake Superior gets really rough with high winds. Thank you for taking the time to share your end of the world with me. You could a lost feel the strength of the wind watching Melissa coming in, a brave soul! I look forward to summer too!
I was driving in it. My tractor trailer. Drove from South Florida to Saint cloud Minnesota. on a load, Then the following day back down to Louisiana. And ran through more snow going through Western Missouri. As an over the road truck driver I pretty much fed up with this winter shit
Thanjs Joe for keeping us in the loop. I think we hot him by that same storm as it came across Nova Scotia with lots of wind and snow. Can't wait for summer to get here. Fishing season is open here but the weather is not cooperating very much. I see you have become more domesticated now...eating with a real fork and not a plastic one....lol More dishes for you to wash 😄😄 Stay safe and will see you on the next one. Tom
You have a beautiful place, never been to Minnesota.. I live in Kentucky it looks like beautiful countryside. But you can keep the snow. And the food you cooked looks wonderful.
Joe, we here in Southwest Missouri, just got the tail-end of that Weather System. It was 76*F at 9:30 am and by noon it had dropped 30*.......it’s rainy and very windy.......
Enjoyed the lake vids enormously. I so appreciate the care you take with the flag, Joe. It means a great deal to me to see that in others, too. Thank you.
That wind was crazy here in East Otter Tail County, roads became super icy in minutes. Glad it’s over. Now our lake is completely frozen...again. I enjoy all your videos.
I'm not a fan of winter; being a New Yorker, we dread the snow but, on a large property like yours and Melissa's it quite beautiful to see. I would want it to melt though after I've gotten pics and video because I surely wouldn't want to be plowing anymore snow lol. Looking forward to the next video.
April 25 and in Vermont closer to Canada than Massachusetts and hoping the snow is gone but it was around longer than normal this winter/spring. Thanks for sharing Minnesota with us. I hope you and your neighbors have a lovely summer. Live long, be happy :)
Id take the midwest any day over that wrinkled up retirement state...enjoy your hurricanes....ill enjoy a state that truly has 4 seasons in a year and more than one type of tree
I was going to start my comment with only one word: "Dayyyyuuuummm". Then I saw how your preparations are paying off....Great Job staying above it all Joe.
Thank you for sharing. I miss winters now that i live in Florida. Not sure I could ever survive your winters but I would sure like to try it for a week just to be cold again and see some real snow fall
wow. This reminds me why I'm glad I moved from Milwaukee to Dallas over 40 years ago. Got my peppers, onions and tomatoes growing right now. We're expecting hail tonight so I moved the pots to under the garage eves.
I am so thankful that I live in East Texas!!! Daytime temps in lower 70's to lower 80's, have been working in my yard for a month and enjoy it so much after winter. I don't think I could live where winter lasted 6 months out of the year!

I was driving back from Beckley WV to home and couldn't even go any faster than about 45 due to visibility issues caused by the rain. Lunch really looked tasty. Juddie
Ha ha another person who MUST have a fan going in order to sleep even in cold weather! BTW I’m in Southern California and this past winter we had a LOT of rain but to me it was great, such a nice change from the usual. Sleeping in cold, rainy weather was soooo nice. I bet I’d love spending a few weeks up north, even in Canada, every winter!
New subscriber from Australia. :) It does not snow where I live in winter. I am familiar with a snow blower though, having spent two winters in Canada.
Our next place is going to be in the country but we come from the deep south so snow really isn't an issue. We do intend on putting in a natural gas generator if we lose power. A lesson from Katrina. Can't wait to see what's coming for the house and your garden.
Glad you and your family made it through the storm safely Joe. Eventually warm spring weather is coming you just have to believe...in miracles LOL Cheers

When i was stationed at Grand Forks ND there’s only 2 seasons, winter and July.
I built houses out in Williston for a few years, even a 2 inch snow can be like a blizzard with all that wind. It truly sucked.
