Hi, I shared part of your video on instagram and I gave all credits to you, I'm infinetely grateful with your translations, so I wrote to followers please to support your channel too. Let me know what do you think about it🙏 tha ks again for such amazing translation of an amazing song
Thank you for even more depth into the lyrics in the description below it really brings even more emotion and depths to the story. He is telling and morals being questioned in the song.
He questions morality because these lyrics are written from the perspective of a fascist during World War II, like all the other lyrics on the album. I'm surprised how few people understand that Kyo writes concept albums where the narration is told from the perspective of the lyrical hero, and not from himself.
Only thing missing is the harmonies, honestly. I rarely hear any backtracking. Idk why. He obviously doesn't need them but from the few times I did hear them, I thought it sounded great.
@@MrDubious I think they would only work on nights when Kyo is 100% on point and true to the original melodies. Not that Kyo isn't an extremely talented vocalist, he clearly is. But we can all be honest, there's nights, sometime even long stretches on a tour, where he's missing high notes, or otherwise having trouble. We can even hear it in this performance, there's a few spots where he croaks out and his voice becomes more of a squeak sound. Having backing tracks that are perfectly tuned playing behind his live voice would sound very jarring at any point where he isn't hitting the exact note he needs to hit. The dissonance wouldn't be pleasing. There's also the fact that not having backing tracks allows Kyo to go a little off-script at certain points, changing up a rhythm structure of a line, or holding a note or word longer than on the record. It also gives him all the space he wants to stop singing and let the audience take over. As nice as it would be to hear those backing harmonies live, I think not using backing tracks ultimately lets Kyo be more expressive in the moment with his vocals. It also lets the guitars shine a bit more since they don't need to cut through a wall of vocals, especially in a song like Vinushka where lead guitar parts are intertwining around the rhythm parts.
I might be wrong so bear with me The song talks about the death penalty and it puts you in front of a case: is death penalty really should be applied on criminals ? (That's what i understood sorry if my English isn't clear) The incident of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is used as a metaphor
It depicts the massacre of more than 300,000 civilians when the US military dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is one of the pains that DIR EN GRAY wants to convey.
Because these lyrics are written from the perspective of a fascist during World War II, like all the other lyrics on the album. I'm surprised how few people understand that Kyo writes concept albums where the narration is told from the perspective of the lyrical hero, and not from himself.
I think he is tired here, he make so much powerful screams and this is imposible to have perfect notes always.. Anyway Kyo singing so emotional in every performance.

The passion he puts in his performances never ceasts to fail my expectations
really a godlike vocalist
After having not listen to Dir En Grey for quite some time (just sorta teetered off at one point), I'm glad they're still going on strong as ever.
Damn I want to pay attention to the lyrics but their performance is just too good I cant stay focused
Hypocrisy about hiroshima and nagasaki, relentless heavy shit, I don't listen to often dir in gray, I get to pissed
Toshiya on 4:25 is literally the reason i breath
この音楽は歴史に残る

Jesus christ, this sounds almost completely identical to the studio version. Not many bands can pull that off.
Lovebites can ;)

@@kakkoishonen All great Japanese bands can. But not many reach the level of Lovebites ;-)
Hard for Kyo too. He usually sounds like shit bc his hearing loss fucked him over. I'm really happy to hear him back in top form. He's still got it!!!

with all respect, i am curious why they always show Hiroshima Nagasaki incident on Vinushka? does this song sum all of it?
I might be wrong so bear with me

This song is a warning song about fascism. And I think this song needs to be heard by every American in 2024 cause we are headed that way.
Thank you so much for this video. May I ask where can I watch full this live tour?
I think they have a DVD released with some of their live Performances but i'm not sure
Try looking it up At a Merchandise store
Oh no! His whistle notes have some problems.
