I was shocked to hear she passed away, when she still had her shop in Nyack I called her every month.I sometimes made copies of photo's she didn't have.I am so happy she and her voice and music crossed my life...Her music still lives on!
My parents knew her years ago in Greenwich Village, NYC and we grew up listening to her and loving her. So sorry to hear she is gone. My mother passed away last year at 83. We always thought that our sister Glenna was related , although not really, to Susan because of her long beautiful red hair. Rest in peace as you brought a lot of peace to us.
I was introduced to her singing as a child and never knew that hearing her singing would be available to me until tonight. What a lovely voice and such a PRETTY gal.The whole presentation was great here. I like her music--everything--and I also liked the music the orchestra played. Thanks for a great performance.
Ah, I just read that Susan Reed died. I was a young child when she sang on the radio and the zither continues to fascinate me. What a brief but lovely career she had.
I man have one of her recordings somewhere but I am so glad to find this here. Thank you for posting it. I think the album also contains Songs of The Auverne.
Thanks for posting,I love Susan's music for years and had contact with her when she had her store in Nyack. Her voice was still the same.I am honoured you used my photo's for this. Thnx again.

A beautiful voice ! xxxxxxx
This dates from 1948, as Susan sang "Turtle Dove" (3:52)- as well as "The Soldier and the Lady"- in the movie "Glamour Girl" that year.
Thanks! I listened to my mother's Susan Reed records as a child, and was very happy to later find a couple of them on CD.

A fine singer, now, alas, largely forgotten. I just posted her on Find a Grave. God rest her soul. Thank you for sharing this...
