    I'm a boomer. When I was growing up GPs did house calls. Then, amid all the other destructive things he did (open borders), Tony Blair gave them a new contract which paid them more for doing less work (ie: not working weekend shifts and no house calls). It's been downhill since then.

      So sorry for you. This situation is too common, but completely unnecessary. My GP surgery must be the best in the country. Even during lockdown, I could get an appointment, and have no problem seeing a GP. The receptionists couldn't be more helpful, and I don't think I could have better private service. I wish you had the same.

    Won't notice if my GP walks out. I haven't been able to see a REAL GP since my cancer diagnosis before the Chinese Flu.
    It took 2 weeks to see one, even when I told them I thought I actually had cancer.
    They have a whole raft of "Clinicians" you get palmed off to, or if you think your illness is severe, "GO TO A&E".

    Doctors appointments are more mythical than unicorns. Hell my local surgery has a 30 minute window to call in for an appointment in the morning and if it isn't an emergency you get refused!! But walk in in person and the surgery is completely empty. It's an absoulte joke.
    Hospitals aren't much better. Waited in A&E for 4 hours with a dislocated arm, only to be bounced back out without treatment, told to take painkillers and do physio. Ended up snapping it back into place myself.

    Most passed their 'pandemic training', so they can now drop the 'Dr' title before their names and in stead add MT after.

    This is exactly what happens with a Labour Gov, the public sector act like birds with their mouths open looking for more and more money, and Labour give it to them because the unions own them, we are already seeing the Gov miraculously looking for £10 Billion to give them and above inflation pay rise, even though we are supposed to have a £20 billion black hole. Now the under performing GP's have started, they don't bloody work as it is will we see any real difference after all most of them only work a couple of days here and there? Everyone knows Labour is a soft touch when it comes to unions demanding more money they always give in so let's see how much more money we have to find for those in the health service which is so unproductive, yet over paid.

    • @sammic7492
      @sammic7492 6 месяцев назад

      @peterholden3672 Perhaps if so many didn't work part time that would make a difference, I'm tired of hearing over paid NHS staff constantly complaining, bitching and whining, the NHS is the most staffed health service in the world and we have less beds etc than other comparable countries. This strike BS has come about because we now have a weak Labour Gov who will cave to the unions as they own Labour, we are already facing paying out £10 billion extra for public sector pay rises (even though we apparently have a £20 billion black hole??????? make it make sense), and that's before the 22% pay rise Labour have put to the junior Dr's and now this. The public sector and the NHS in particular is a parasite that drains tax money whilst we get worse off, and this is just the beginning of it, every year they'll be demanding more and more and magically we'll find it whilst everyone else suffers. Labour do love their unions and an ever expanding public/Gov sector.

    • @sammic7492
      @sammic7492 6 месяцев назад

      @peterholden3672 You are very patronising, I appreciate "full time" means different things for different people. UK Dr's are the 4th best paid globally when things like pension etc are taken into account, and junior Dr's have been "mis leading" the public with their figures and calculations and I'm being generous saying "misleading". Public sector pensions are going to cost us £2.6 TRILLION more than our GDP, so NO we won't get that money back because the tax payer will be paying their gold plated pensions, whilst everyone has to bust their ass for a pension that is 6X less what public sector get. Infrastructure projects are being scrapped in order to pay for public sector pay rises, when infrastructure projects are what provide growth whilst the public sector just suck the economy dry. Considering the bloody mess of the public sector it certainly explains why the country is in such bad shape, and how most of them don't do the job they're paid for all I can say is roll on the introduction of AI and we can then get rid of at least half of them and end up with better service than we get now, and at a fraction of the cost.

    • @sammic7492
      @sammic7492 6 месяцев назад

      @peterholden3672 We are seeing today that many junior Dr's are looking to reject a 22% pay offer, even though to give them that pay rise CUTS will have to be made to departments in the NHS, this sums up the greed and entitlement of those in the NHS. 46% of the funding already goes on staff pay, so people get an inferior service so they can get paid more yet we had to spend 2 years "protecting" them, the NHS isn't fit for purpose and there are many people working in. it that aren't either, record complaints and £Billions paid out for negligence claims just highlights that the NHS needs tearing down and rebuilt from the ground up. It's time it was held accountable rather than the public held hostage to them.
