…A few seconds of afternoon rehearsal running down the start of “Make Someone Happy” (so sorry battery gave out and I couldn’t tape Frank’s’ incredible solo in the concert), followed by “Don’t Mean a Thing…” to kick off the concert… Solos by Mike Brignola, Keith Oshiro, Dante Luciani, Mark Lewis, Henry Hung, Frank Tiberi.

…Huge Thanks to the PALO ALTO JAZZ ALLIANCE (PAJA) for putting together this tribute to the late, great HERB WONG (Woody’s Band being Herb’s favorite!). Indebted to PAJA’s CEO Stuart Brewster, PgmDir Harvey Mittler, and the delightful Marilyn Wong (Herb’s wife) who along with Frank Tiberi conceived & this great event. A packed, appreciative house at the acoustically perfect Menlo-Atherton Center for the Performing Arts Theatre.
