I LOVE mine! I've tried different instruments through it and it brings out a clarity of tone. Only day 3, but each time I plug into it I feel QUITE pleased.
I literally just bought a Katana 50 today. But let me say that I tried the Katana Mini as well in the store and HOLY SHIT when I flipped it to the Brown setting. Didn't even bother with the clean and crunch anymore coz the Brown setting sounds phenomenal from such a small amp. Destroys any other small amp like the Blackstar Fly out there.
That's just so accurate...the best practice amp, never saw something like this amp since the Roland Kube or the pignose, only that the Katana is lighter, friendlier with effects, and way more solid...
Nah he means the fullsized Katana, it's about $300, the 50 watt is basically the same for $200 and an amazing deal. The 100 has a footswitch, FX loop, and presence control though, but the 50 is loud enough for gigging, both have a 12-inch speaker but they do have a 2x12 combo but that's about $500.
A mini 20 watt full featured satan would be sweet if possible. Misha had peavey do it. With the exception of the powertubes being el84s instead of 6l6s
@@keisy4212 I ended up doing the cab mod on my katana and it’s killer mod.I have it going it into a sound mixer with the eq set flat on the mixer and all the tone coming from the katana.
Just picked one up used and traded my Blackstar Fly 3w. Katana is awesome and so portable. Sound tone much better than others in this class. Your demo put me into the buyer column Way to chug 🎸🤘
Walkman, wow haven’t heard of this word for a long time besides from the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy”. I was lucky enough to have used the walkman before, and then MP3 players, then iPod then finally today everything is clouded. Anyway, I owned the Katana Mini too, super awesome mini amp. I use the Boss GT-1 with it connected not through the front of house but at the rear via the Auxiliary, really great sounding.
Sounds awesome that does. Ive just ordered one after seeing this video. I must say your guitar playing is mint and you are so funny at times, great entertainment. Good work
Okay, I get it. Katana Mini sure is a convenient little practice cube. Battery go anywhere deal. Most little amps this size sound as if you are playing a large over-driven rig through a boom box and are excellent at giving a feel that is practice worthy for these sounds. This is something that has been perfected by several companies in the past ten years. My IDEA(Emphasis) is how would it sound using this as a pre-amp(overdrive or voicing Pedal)? The headphone line out on most of these mini's have speaker emulation built in. So I am wondering about using this as a pre-amp into a clean channel of a real tube amp and traditional 4x12 or more? ...or even into a pa? ...But more importantly, as a pre-amp.
Absolutely love mine. Enough volume to match your un amplified voice for busking. It is also small enough to walk and play. It also works great as a preamp for a louder speaker Only design flaw. Placement of powder switch means it is way too easy to turn the amp on while you're putting it away That means dead batteries when you go to use it again .Add something to shield switch from accidental power ons. Huge success in a micro amp; excellent clear tone. A friend, way better than me, couldn't help from sitting there envying the tone of this little amp against his Street Cube amp. Yeah, volume is stronger on bigger, more expensive amps. But, that is not the point of an amp lighter and smaller than your kid's lunch box.
*Unless playing live gigs, high wattage amps are obsolete for most people. Even 4x4s are mic’ed or DI’ed, anyway, so tone is more important than power.*
The huge presence of the Katana mini on RUclips is going let me buy one sooner or later I guess. Damn it's always kind of depressing to notice how marketing actually works
CyberChrist Don't discount Fender G-DECs. They're the best bang-for-buck "all-in-one" practice amps out there, pretty much. They make the Line6 Spiders and Boss Katanas look like toys. I wanted to like the Katana Mini, but the cab is made of plastic ffs. There's no excuse for that shit. Even MDF would have been better. That plastic looks about as durable as a wet paper bag, to boot.
+INF1D3L010 Well, G-DECs seem to have disappeared, though :p They also seem to have been more expensive, less versatile and less portable. That said, I love the ideas of the integrated looper and sequencer on the 30s, that's the worst weak point on the MCGX (before the lack of stereo, hello Yamaha THRs...).
That's a damn shame... If you can find one in a second-hand store, though, you should definitely pick one up. They're one of my fav amp series of all time. It ain't no Vetta or AxeFx, but they were solid for what they were. As for versatility and portability, the G-DEC 15 was basically a Fender 15R cab with different guts, and equally as portable. As for versatility, they can competently pull off whatever tone it is you're looking for. I wish I still had my G-DEC 30, but at the time, rent was more important. I've never tried any of the newer Yamaha models, though. Are they decent? I've sorta been staying away from them because of how fragile they look.
I wanted to hear the sound without a mic condenser, I mean with the cam's mic. Also, it would great if had a comparison of it. I think this amp is awesome at least for the size (maybe the price idk). I liked
Hi this is Milias from India.... I love watching all your video... I enjoyed a lot and gain more knowledge about music instrument. Love from India thank you so much for all the videos.
I got mine from a guitar shop, the guy took it out of the box, and it weighed practically nothing, I thought the guy was blowing smoke up my but just to make a sale, but he was right, this amp packs a punch. Best $100 I ever spent on an amp.
I've been looking for a really good battery powered mini amp to use when recording guitar playthru videos outside, & hey I think you just sold me on this one, so much better than the Orange one I was looking at.
I’d love to see this compared to some other options e.g. the tiny black star fly 3 as I would like a tiny amp for living room jams. Atm I am using interface + laptop + Bluetooth speaker and it’d be sooooo much easier to just plug into a tiny amp
Not gonna lie. I just watched this video although I try to catch all of yours, and realized that room looks like same one from the movie Green Room...where that punk band gets held up by some bad dudes. Chills man!!!! great video though as usual!
Every try a Blackstar Fly 3? Same basic idea. 3 solid state watts, digital delay, clean/crunch, ISP eq knob. Not high gain, but it takes pedals well and definitely sounds pretty decent!
That seems pretty good for that particular purpose. I think I would use a multifx unit and headphones though. You know what would be even more awesome for warming up? If Joyo made a tiny combo version of the Zombie...
Just last night I tried the Boss Katana Mini, the Vox 3w, Roland cube, and some kind of Orange mini amp. The Boss sounded better than I expected, but the Vox had a better overall sound quality in my opinion. Take from that what you want, or don't..
Man that sounds as good as my mini studio monitors do sometimes with Bias FX so I'll probably get one in I ever want to busk one day with my guitar. The best thing about it is the price which is good for what you get. Idk how this would be for Jazzy tones but it's pretty good for other tones. I could not get good tones with my Jazz guitar with the default cleans on a bigger katana so I wonder how this would sound with one of my hollow body guitars. I would have to mod a bigger katana with the app for it to get better jazzy tones honestly 😂 For versatility I'd still say that Mesa amps are were that's at 😂 or Bias FX or Plini's new plugin 😂🤘 One of my old guitar teachers who was super good at teaching theory to me played a Mesa amp with a Jazz guitar at some gig and it sounded so sick.
Nice review. I'm looking at a used one, less than a year old for $50 and real close to me on Market Place..... batteries in the amp, power cord and a guitar lead. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this bad boy . . . . . . . . . hmmm

I just picked this up, and within the first few minutes of playing I was blown away. Thanks for opening my ears to this little demon.
I saw 1 on CL and I've decided even if it's not available anymore, this is the practice Amp I want no matter what.
finally something I can plug my walkman into and play along to tapes!
Nah man tape was yesterday, I'd immediately connect my portable CD-player to it.
ZARG walkman, isn’t something they used in ancient times? Like loooooooong ago?
Tape player with weak batteries for the win.
good idea dude
I still have my playable "Steve Vai Ultrazone" cassette tape haha.
I LOVE mine! I've tried different instruments through it and it brings out a clarity of tone. Only day 3, but each time I plug into it I feel QUITE pleased.
How is the delay on it
Is it good with flute and clarnet?
Is mayonnaise an instrument?
I bought one of these when I bought my first guitar back in November, and I find it awesome!

I was deciding between this and the Blackstar Fly 3. Inclined towards this one
@@omairsh8 I’d say the Boss, but I’ve no experience with the Black Star.
Omair for me boss katana
Sounds amazing with an overdrive clean-boosting the front: wow!!!
agreed, a clean boost sounds great. Also compression gets the feedback going
I've got this, and trust me, if you are on a budget, this little guy should do the trick! 😉👍
Finally a amp that will take my WalkMan and MiniDisc!

Finally a good sounding amp I can fit in my fanny pack.
Forget that it’s so small it fits in your fanny😂😂😂
I'd say it sounds pretty great, got the 100w version and its kinda mindblowing considering the price.
Does the 100 watter still have a plastic enclosure like the Mini? If so, that's a bit fucked up.
So when is the 1W nano satan coming?
Midget satan
Randall Satan "Lil Lucifer" 6,66Watts :D
Lil Devil
It comes in a kit with a 66.6% scaled version of his signature guitar
A mini 20 watt full featured satan would be sweet if possible. Misha had peavey do it. With the exception of the powertubes being el84s instead of 6l6s
Ola:my practice amp and it’s great

Thanks for the advice!! It sounded great! And love your riffs.
