I found myself completely lost and in awe during this. It didn’t even feel like an interview; it was just a beautiful memoir. Thank you, Cosmo. What an amazing and inspiring story. 💕
Yes it was like a one- man show which was strangely spellbinding. He's basically a magician of communication. It reminds me of Charles Nelson Reilly's one-man show.

I'm on day 3. Today was tough. Your interview has lifted me up and I feel hopeful. Wish we could sit down and have a coffee and dessert...chit chat. I could listen to your stories, wisdom and humor all day. Fabulous. Thank you Cosmo. Thank you Mark.
“Do esteemable things. Hold out your hand to a newcomer.” Said with the most sincerity I’ve seen in a long time. The world needs a lot more of this. Thank you, Cosmo.
Oh Cosmo! I didn’t know how much I needed to hear your story. My sober date is 12/22/23 & have been tried. Then you said you “surrendered” & I felt the higher power in my heart. I surrendered again, for we are worthy of love and joy and a sober life. Thank you gorgeous!! ❤
Ive been deep in active addiction for the last two years now. Ive been in recovery before, and like Cosmo, I'm a chronic relapser. This interview made me feel like I was safe in an NA or AA meeting. I feel safe and okay when im in meetings, i feel at home - and that's exactly how i felt listening to him speak. I haven't been to a meeting in two years, but at a point i was working the steps; ****but i wasnt willing or ready to give up my drug of choice! I wasn't willing or ready to surrender!*** Listening to this gave me hope. Listening to this reminded me what its like to be in the rooms with people who get it, who understand it. That I'm not alone and god, I've felt so fucking alone since I relapsed. This made me want up pick up the phone, and get myself checked back into rehab. Thank you Cosmo. Thank you for sharing your story, it's one hell of a story, and a powerful story at that. Thank you for helping other addicts & letting others know, it does work if you really work it. I would rather have an awful day sober, than a great day getting high at this point.
There are lots of good days in a row, to come, but that will come later. Please stick with it! The brain needs time to fully heal from addiction and, in early recovery, the dopamine deficit makes it difficult to enjoy the little things and even some big ones, which is why it’s so important to to have sober support to help you get back the toughest part! For me, it started to get much better at around 6 months, though there were some good days before that. I’m telling you, you’re worth it and it gets better!
I have 4.5 months sober at this point and it’s the first time I was willing to surrender.. it makes a huge difference when you are ready to do it for you.. you got rhis❤ and if you ever need to talk, I’m here

Playwrites & novelists strive for decades to create 'talking heads' such as Cosmo. Inevitably, they can never be as perfect as this original, 100% experiential, first person narrative, complete with authentic costume, charisma, and casual, yet oh-so-deep conversation. You are a modern Chaucer, Mark, and your 'pilgrims' are easily as articulate as his Cantabrigians were, perhaps more so, as no interpretor is required, and you allow it all to be so fluent and vivid. It's an amazing privilege for any of us 'armchair travellers' to be able to access anything even half as authentic as this. Thank you so much for bringing real people and their experiences to us without interference, and with such understated aesthetic panache. All we need, and have ever needed, is the word from the experiencer's mouth. My other, longterm favourite is Frenchie by the way -- just *such* fun and intelligence -- but each and every one of your interviewees brings something incredibly significant to the meld. Am so glad Cosmo remains upbeat, and that things are going well for him. Thank you Mark for this incredible online chronicle of incarnations...it never ceases to fascinate and inspire. X

The director of this series does such an amazing job at allowing his subjects to share their stories, their lives and most importantly their lessons . This is some of the most beautiful and powerful story telling on the Internet and we’re lucky to have them .
Oh my gosh….. this is the MOST REAL HUMAN being that I have seen I’m my entire life and I’m 57 years old! I’m a medical professional and am in such awe of this human being! You are EXTREMELY special. By the way….. I’m a twin! I’m the early 70’s my sis and I were freaks….. the stares will never be forgotten. We had a lot of positive reactions. Also, my Dad was a hair stylist in LA and was in the newspaper for serving some STARS! Can’t wait to follow you on RUclips 🥰!!!!! Hi Joe❤
This interview was phenomenal. I'm in recovery myself 8 months sober & clean! I was sick & tired of being sick & tired. I surrendered and I'm willing to do anything to stay sober. One day at a time is how I live my life today. By the grace of God I learned to live clean. I'm so grateful to be alive. I love myself today. Thank you Cosmo for sharing your story. Your a beautiful human, very inspiring & amazing. Keep on keeping. You made my day ☺️
I, too, grew up in a chaotic Italian American "Good Fellas" household and in NYC in the 80s (I wonder if you cut my hair at Astor Place!?) and you described it perfectly. Sadly, lost lots of friends along the way, as well, and am so happy you and your brother made it to the other side. Thank you Cosmo. You're a star.
I was in a New York, Italian foster family with a similar history and still appreciate the culture so much! I’m Swedish, indigenous and Croatian American…basically, a mutt. My foster mother got into it for unconventional reasons. She wanted to help a child with similar experiences to what she had, in trouble and on the streets. They were amazing people and affectionate, even with grown children. I had never experienced that!
I loved this guy from 1 second into the interview!❤❤ He had great things to talk about. Not to mention having the most well-conditioned hair in the universe.
Rebecca still feels young and I think she really needs to find herself more. I have watched her videos and she thinks that her youth is forever.Like a mantle. I hope she sober as soon as possible. I find her intelligent and she speaks well.
I resonate with his story so much. I never had drugs or alcohol affect my family but the religion, fathers love, loving myself and appreciating my own gifts really hit me. Thank you!
as a young trans guy who isolates myself and uuhh self-medicates too much, i really appreciate this. i feel like i've been realizing these things but haven't said them out loud to anybody. i want to do esteem-able acts and use my gifts. i want to break the generational curses of addiction and live a full life. you're a lovely person, Cosmo, and i'm so glad you're still with us!!!
Hello beautiful soul. I read your comment and it touched my heart. I can't imagine your struggles. You mentioned two things I related too and would like to share them with you. I'm old enough to be your grandmother or at least mother. I am a recovering trash can IV heroin cocaine addict. I was very bad and I lost everything most importantly I lost myself and I've never found myself again. I also isolate big time. I've come to realize isolating just let's me be able to do what I want and for me that's not good. There are so many things I wish I'd realized sooner and I wish I'd been able to love myself. One thing is I have faith in God and that gives me hope every day. The other thing is my sibling born female but identifies as male and I've watched him suffer in the wrong body his entire life because of shame and judgement. We grew up in the 60's and 70's and no one understood transgender then. I'm sad for both of us because we had a wonderful loving family but yet could not love ourselves as Cosmo said. I truly hope you find your happiness honey.
This by far has been the best interview you have done mark!! Omg I love you cosmo! Your calling is helping others struggling thru drugs! That’s why you’re here!! It’s not about clothes and hair cuts it’s your experience of going through it and understanding drug addiction! I love you so much. You’re an angel on earth!! You need to do a book. Omg I’d run to buy it.. I could listen all day to you!!Cosmo has power in his voice . What he speaks is real it’s coming from a real and caring place. He isn’t full of shiz and lies. You can feel how honest he really is.. Cosmo your words can help so many. Where have you been the 13 years I’ve been struggling?? Oh dear god I needed this!!
Omg Cosmo! I just adore you. Could listen to him for hours. So glad he’s sober now. I will have three years on 4/10 ❤ life still is difficult- you have crap days because… life keeps happening- but much more manageable, clean/sober. Wouldn’t change it. I lost my dad three years ago to a fentanyl overdose. He never made it out 💔 it was one of the harshest wake up calls of my life but it was what got me to wake up and take control of my life back- what I have control over anyway, and taught me to leave the rest to a higher power. I hope Cosmos keeps on this journey too. He is so spot on when it comes to recovery. His story of experience, strength and hope was HUGE. Helping the newcomer, staying surrounded with others fighting the good fight, eliminating people in your life will be hard but necessary… I appreciated his accountability, acceptance… and the SURRENDER. This interview was *chefs kiss. I truly believe the addict/alcoholic HAS to hit their bottom to be ready to fully surrender. Some of us don’t make it and everyone’s bottom looks different. Sometimes it’s not as bad as others think it should be, sometimes it’s beyond terrible. Oh cosmos- you warmed my heart, brightened my day and added another flame to the ones beneath me that keep me on track, inspired and sober ❤️ thank you

Cut to… 37 minutes in and long story short I’m addicted to Cosmo.
Saaame! I found him on TikTok and it brought me here! So blessed to bless others with his triumph over addiction! ❤
The Grindr channel uploaded an episode with Katya Zamo and Cosmo recently!
Same! I was crying because my mom has been sober for 8 years now and it always makes me wonder what makes people like her and cosmo so different where they can make it through. 🥰❤️
I am hanging on every single word.
... And had to pause to digest for a moment
Yeah I like how he drops random bombs amidst cheerful fodder, keeps you invested without realizing. Plus I mean that voice is priceless.
"Where are you from" to the person with the most NYC accent of all time is so funny

God. The universe. Magic. Call it what you want, but that's what it is!
I also agree. I clicked on it thinking there's probably nothing in here for me and it literally spoke to my soul! Cosmo/Kosmo (sorry if I misspelled baby) Thank you so much!

Cosmo gives Big Ang energy and it honestly brings me so much immense joy.

It was perfect.
This life story could easily become a book, audio book.

Ok saw the title to this interview. Passed on a few time but went for my walk and was like let give this a quick listen. It was a great interview! Was extremely surprised and wanted the interview to continue. Hope to see another video with an update with cosmo. Another great interview mark!

“Do esteemable things. Hold out your hand to a newcomer.” Said with the most sincerity I’ve seen in a long time. The world needs a lot more of this. Thank you, Cosmo.
It is a privilege to have someone with such intense flair, style and taste speak like this. Feel lucky to be watching this. Thanks Mark
thank you Cosmo!
Oh Cosmo! I didn’t know how much I needed to hear your story. My sober date is 12/22/23 & have been tried. Then you said you “surrendered” & I felt the higher power in my heart. I surrendered again, for we are worthy of love and joy and a sober life.
Thank you gorgeous!! ❤
Congratulations! My date is 11/30/22 !
Hang on, Kiddo.
❤u got this..its worth it ...keep pushing
Go to rehab.
I have 4.5 months sober at this point and it’s the first time I was willing to surrender.. it makes a huge difference when you are ready to do it for you.. you got rhis❤ and if you ever need to talk, I’m here
Her and Big Ang would have the best conversations and the biggest laughs.
They mixed in the same circles so I'm sure they'll have bumped into each other at some point.
This is one of my favorite people now. Just saw how warm he was to Rebecca in his store and treated her like royalty. OMG I met Cosmo with a friend of mine 25+ years ago at his shop on Melrose. I was visiting from the east coast. My friend and I are both tall and skinny and he had so much fun dressing us up and we had tons of fun too!! His personality is so awesome I will never forget that one shopping experience!! We really need to get her a reality show immediately

Hi Joe❤

His honesty is disarming, it completely draws you in. The voice the hair and the provenance...fabulous.
Bro asked 1 question and Cosmo just popped awf for 37 minutes straight
