  • As one of India's most successful investors turns 60, ET NOW presents Rakesh Jhunjhunwala - Making of the Legend..
    The trail-blazing and awe-inspiring journey of a Chartered Accountant who rises from middle-class anonymity to the iconic status of The Big Bull. It’s a story everyone wants to hear... and one that must be told!
    How was Rakesh Jhunjhunwala in his growing up years? How did his inquisitiveness land him in the stock market? And how many are aware of RJ’s prowess in the games of Tennis and Table-Tennis?
    While much is said about Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s intellect-driven investments and market moves that have taken him to the pinnacle of success, there are several hidden facets known only to family and friends closest to him. Like his mother, siblings and wife Rekha - for whom he has abiding adoration. Or the close bond of friendship that he shares with D Mart’s Radhakishan Damani.
    Rakesh’s life, strategy and market mantras have now been captured in the first film of its kind - All set to release in sync with RJ’s 60th birthday on ET NOW.

    I am commenting after seeing majority of the comments, its a clear cut truth that RJ is 1 in billion and the next RJ will also be 1 in billion! I found almost no comment appreciating the knowledge what the video gave, all were so envious that 99% people ended with a negative note, some with body shaming, some with Alia trolls, and some with "Oh! he is a privileged one"... being successful is not a crime or a sin, but spreading negativity will surely keep you where you are!

    Rakesh Jhunjunwala had more income in 1980s than many have now ( inflation adjusted) He himself said that he would be given x amount 20000 Rs a month that's equivalent to salary of 45lakhs per year. An investment money given to him of 1 crore Rs easily equals to 30-50 crore Rs now. A flat worth 10,000 Rs in 1980 easily is over 2-3 cores. A bungalow worth 1 crore in 1985 is on market fetching 50 cr and person wants to sell it for 100 crore.
    (Rakesh Jhunjunwala not having money is like actors kid who say they don't have have money when they entered Bollywood or some rich kids who say they came Mumbai with few hundred Rs in the pocket.
    At .05 paisa one got a Conconut , 50 Paisa one could catch a taxi from Bandra to Church gate. An avg salary then was 200-500 Rs and 20000 Rs was minimum 45 lakh that his father gave him when he didn't work and used to live in his parents house with his family.
    Yes Rakesh Jhunjunwala didn't have Money like the Tata and Birla but definitely he wasn't poor like some people think.
    Also to be noted those days were full of insider trading, stocks at low price to value and no long term capital gain tax. If you see then the best of the years were during 1991 when India opened it's economy.
    He is great with his investments and salute to him but not like he didn't have the money. If one has 100 crore it's easy to make 1000,5000 crore. With 50000 crore let's see how fast he makes it 500000-1000000 crores.
    80s 90s stock ups and downs. He (Rare) safely avoided Reliance. After Dhirubhai R shares have just eaten investors money. The reason one must still invest carefully with RIL. RIL gave seperate stocks to FB, created more public shares to reduce its value and at the same time keep the promoter Mukesh Ambani share safe untouched. Yet RIL at 1800 over valued.
    Now who says Warren Buffet didn't have the money then his family had given him $1 million to be invested. $1 million in the 60-80's .

    • @sowrabhkarkala1232
      @sowrabhkarkala1232 4 года назад +14

      I don't think the part of Warren buffet is true ..but about Rj is completely true and I always thought the same .. other thing is about ramesh damani ..his dad pushed him into stock market ..gave him 10 thousand USD in the 1980s to invest in stocks which he blew..10k usd in the 80s was a shit load of money .. probably worth crores today
