Beatles fans have hailed the release of never-before-seen footage showing the Fab Four on tour in Japan. The silent black-and-white footage of the British band's only visit to the country in 1966 was recorded by police as a security measure. It shows the musicians descending from a plane in matching kimonos and performing to a rapturous crowd at the Budokan arena in Tokyo, as well as behind-the-scenes police operations.

Thumb up to the cameraman for going back to time just to capture this

No, they don't 🤓
props to the cameraman for recording those rare mosaic Japanese heads
@@bewdeyeswhitedragon wow, you are so funny 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
The first pop group to ever play Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo was The Beatles in 1966, a concert that caused quite a scandal because of the auditoriums’ semisacred status as Japan’s premier martial-arts venue. Rightwingers protested the show but in the end the prerogatives of capitalism prevailed.
Rightwingers protesting before they realized they're pro capitalism?
The Budokan is is still regarded as the ultimate place to hold concerts, even though there are many venues in Japan nowadays that are way bigger.
@@unduloid True, it`s like our Carnegie Hall (NYC) and the Tokyo Dome is next door.
Well, let's also not forget the legion of British rightwingers who were hurling anti-Asian slurs at Yoko Ono in the 70s and 80s accusing her of destroying the Beatles.

My favorite was Zepp Tokyo. I also loved to ride the Daikanransha before a concert.
Well, that's all over now.
It's interesting how each generation has some groundbreaking pop-culture acts that conquer the world and each generation of fans will claim that 'their' craze was the real one, the others were fake.
And on the side note, I see people saying the fans were better back then because there was no phones but groupies and illegal substances that were present at most big music events beg to differ. People don't change that much, there were some crazy folks in the 60s and there are crazy folks in the current 20s
And this is what people don't seem to get... Every generation has their own baggage which they carried or will carry. Yes... There was no phones or social media to connect instantly and share events virally then, but that doesn't mean they didn't happen... Have anyone ever watch a Micheal Jackson concert and tour?...Ambulance were literally lined up and waiting for people. Even the Beetles... Their fans at the time was so crazy about them...Us today have access to information so quickly... So one may think that our era was the worst... How wrong can they be??? Crazy things happened in the past which we had no idea about...its just that having internet makes things easier accessible now than in the past and people can instantly share their toxicty or adhereance to any particular situation.
BETTER THAN KPOP!!!
pokemon meals on japan rather than bts meals providing only limited sauce, causing craze and conflict
which is great
This is so interest to see long time ago! Beetles changed the music of world
Great footage!
i think after 58 years the privacy aspect is overruled by the historic document show the faces!!!!
No camera, and no handphone in the crowd. Respect.
mf 💀
don't show little kids to widespread on tiktoks, they're swarmed of zombies in disneyland
How cool!!
No instagram, tiktok, youtube and The Beatles and Elvis are still better than today's singers.
No they are not
@@metoo3342 what are you, 3?
@@pzza1097 what are you, 100?
you forgot to add "in my opinion" to the comment. music tastes are subjective and differ from one person to another
u when people have different music taste: 😡🤬🤬😡😱😱
Why blur out people’s faces?
Japan has strict privacy laws and people can sue in court for showing their face without permission
@@zainmudassir2964 Fair, but still. All them people are probably dead by now, if not, at least super old. Just seems like an unnecessary thing to do.
@@notforgotten3685 cost benefit analysis baby. it costs them maybe 2-3 mins to blur faces but alot in the case someone does decide to sue because its lucrative.
@@spookyghost6994 even their crotch.
It's all about respect
wow
Two stories in one day of famous East meets West exchanges in Budokan Hall from the last century! Why pixelate the people? They're either retired or dead.
The storm before the deluge in Manila.
Japan is pretty vintage until today. China and Korea is more 80s.
oh boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And a few hours away, they were starting up another rock n roll show called the Cultural Revolution.
Pure talent, not like bts with their brain wash videos and mass promotion shoving into everyone's throat XD
💟
😊👍
This is beyond legendary 00:01
Lol, pixelation.Silly! they probably proud to be there, is a publc event
the beetorozu
I thought police took the video.
after all this years japan doing the pixalted thing
Idk how people can love todays music when in the 20th century music was made witg actual love
today people will listen to songs with autotune + it will probably talk about money and women or crime maybe
This shows how much down mofern music went from the 60s
Well if you don't know how to look for different artists than the mainstream ones, then that's on you tbh. There's plenty of contemporary artists that write amazing songs, sure some might be considered "underground", but they are available for anyone with access to internet.
Have you listened to Radical Face? I believe that I have unconsciously been inspired of him when I write my songs...I also recommend The Lemon Twigs👍🏻 The Fire is my favourite song👌🏻
The only reason why Japan would censor someone
Why blur the faces? They’re all dead now anyways lol
Ahhhh the legendary Japanese pixelation technique…
Haha, I had seen those websites "videos" too!! You naughty boy!
Was that 66

@Pat Heung Oh I see
@Pat Heung oh ok
The beatles was BTS in 20th century
They were far far bigger than BTS. Nobody except teens know of BTS. Beatles were a phenomenon mentioned in newspapers. Even JFK knew of them and they hadn't even landed in America(they landed a few months after his assassination).
don't compare BTS with the beatles. 💀
I like them both but I don't think BTS is comparable to Beatles in any aspect.
Are Chinese and Japanese still not getting along even though DNA tells us they're one and the same????
