    so if the total magnetic declination is
    = 14° 23' + 12' w
    =14° 35' west
    and 35' w is the final answer, you don't need to divide anything right? meaning 14° 35' w is the correct answer

    I wanted to know,if on the total magnetic declination step,am I suppose to add even when the direction is not the same or I'm subtracting if direction aren't the same?

    What do we do if mean magnetic declination is west and annual change is east

      Good question! 🙂though it’s rarely asked. But you must subtract the annual change from the magnetic declination.

      You mean if directions are different?
      Because if you have negative it means there’s something wrong you did.

      In grade 12 now both paper 1 & 2 consists of mapwork. But in lower grades you can expect it on paper 2.

    Mean annual change 10 west
    Total change
    Magnetic declination for 2023
    So I have to calculate the same you say or?

      I am not sure if I understand your question. However, if you are given difference in years, you do not need to consider the 2023. Please maybe rephrase your question so I understand.

    Bra when MD /AC is west we subtract it whereas if it east we add since it’s facing true north

      You’re wrong with confidence 😂 I don’t think your teacher taught you that. It’s either you misunderstood them or you created your own calculations. Follow my videos to learn the right calculations okay 🙂

    You forgot west of true north at the end otherwise in the exams the answer would be wrong. They won't mark it

    I once calcuted this and it gave me above 60 so I asked my sir if I'm correct then he said yes

      It’s important to keep it at or below 60’ because of the rules. In the exam, the examiner may not award you full marks if you leave it like that🙂
