Beat card show... getting David Justices auto way way back in the day...I was so young lad and begged my mom to take me to a card show...saved up the 20$ (a lotta $$ for me back in the days )to get the auto.
I haven't been to a card show in like 25 years when I was a kid. But I want to raid those value boxes $1-$5. My worst deal with cards was I hit a Jordan auto out of 14-15 SP Authentic and sold it on eBay. Worked what was a deal at the time for $500. The guy claimed the card was creased when he got it and eBay made me refund him $250. Over the pandemic I seen it sell for thousands. Love the videos
Haven't been to an actual show in decades. But when, and I mean when I go back with my kids I'll be looking for 1970s steve garvey. I inherited a love for the dodgers from my grandmother when I was a kid. And when I listened to TWIB ( this week in baseball) it just lit a fire under me to collect cards of those players featured. Love your channel and just subscribed. Thanks for spreading the love. Be healthy and happy.
It’s only an investment if you can buy low and sell high. Never overpay. Also if the player ends up being a superstar for a long time or a hall of famer
I have lost a lot of money in sports cards, between selling the wrong cards at the wrong times, giving cards away SMH I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not selling any cards anymore lol... I'll sell shirts or something.. I collect cards.
Kind of like a pyramid scheme. Panini and Topps quietly print money while a few dealers get the gold/platinum membership and the ones at the bottom buy the cards when the players have already gotten hot.
One of my worst losses is a Topps Mike Trout rookie. I bought it at the hype a PSA 7 for over $1000. Probably can buy the same card today for like $400.00.
What I’ve found out about card shows is that everyone is on the same team. Collectors collect. Sellers sell. And people are willing to help as much as possible. It’s a great bunch of people (for the most part)
4:07 this take aged well huh 🤦♂Unfortunately poor Justin Herbert gonna be throwing to Harbaugh at this point...I woulda agreed w his take at the time, but as Mr. Bob Dylan said "Times they are a changing!"
Well, once the nuclear apocalypse recedes, survivors will be hunting again for the remaining cards. Thats when I'll cash in on those Gary Sheffield rookies.
Best thing about going to card shows.....hanging with like minded Girls and guys, supporting a hobby that we all love, selling, buying, trading...showing the love.
Ripping retail since I got into the hobby a couple years ago, that’s my biggest mistake! Should’ve gone after singles and certain hobby boxes with guaranteed hits or autos🤷🏻♂️… another mistake I’m making is not getting over to these dang card shows🙌🏼
Worst investment: I have two boxes full of Trey Lance lol...the bet was always more on Kyle Shanahan's offense with the QB along for the ride, but injuries derailed any chance for Lance to develop, and no one knew Shanahan would fall in love with Purdy 🥶
@@mojo_sports haha that's obvious... I think you said "who would you advise people buy right now?" And he listed off the top players in the NFL... Oh, wow. Thanks. I woulda thought he'd give rookie suggestions.. or x,y,z.. but he said Herbert.. then burrow.
Worse investment for me was all the Wander Franco cards I bought. I bought them for a good price, fortunately, so I'm out less than I could've been. I've never been to a card show. If I ever make it to one, I hope to see good deals in the bargain boxes. And maybe get a PC card auto'd.
Card shows are instant nostalgia. I always pick up one card at each show that reminds me of my youth. I keep em in my pc and it reminds me of the show and the people I meet.
My worst investment on a card, is my next purchase... Lol 😂 Card I always want, would be the Tom-Brady Bowman rookie... Love the card in pictures. Haven't even seen one in person, yet. Lol 😂
It's sad. The modern card market is merely a game of hot potato (basically who can burn who). I'm a collector and always have been (mostly vintage baseball and some 80's basketball rookies). Don't really own anything modern, because it's all just a fad/bubble. I always wonder if this younger crowd flipping cards today will one day collect?
Oof went to do a deal with the ol' Cubs fan guy yesterday, he offered $125 on $700 worth of cards and he had the audacity to have a sign on his booth saying paying strong LOL....I went and sold the cards to another person for $525...might have been the worst dealer I dealt with at the show unfortunately.
havent been to a card show in my 14 years of existence, well theres not many where i live. I always wanted to go through dollar boxes to find steals. Theres one card show every month but u have to pay an entry fee and hockey isnt easy to come by
Favorite experience at a card show is just seeing all the stuff. So much history in one room from all sports. I know I cannot afford all of it but it is cool to see.
Never been to a card show hard to get away from work to do so but I would love to just experience the atmosphere. And be among my fellow collectors people who have that in common with me
NO! Modern day sports card is worth in the the thousands of dollars or even in the hundreds for that matter. Can’t wait see the bottom to fall out on Brock Purdy cards😂😂😂
The best thing at card shows is talking to other passionate collectors who can tell me more about a card then just what it is worth. Justin Trouble!!! Justin Jefferson is going to have a rough year without a quarterback and Justin Herbert is equally feel the pain now that all three of his weapons (Ekler, Allen, and Williams) are GONE!
I bought a Kenny Pickett National Treasures RPA /99 right before the season, paid $700, sold $200 🙃, excited to meet you and Justin Thursday in NYC at the card show. 🙏
Since I only pay money out for Miggy's, I do not think I have ever had a loss lol I am not an investor to be honest. Nice Russell. I do not even like basketball but even I know who he is. That Gretzky is sick !! The ticket stub. Nice McDavid too. I do not like hockey either but I learn a lot from watching other channels. Never been to a show but when I do goto a show, I cannot wait to meet all kinds of people. I am totally a people person and I just would enjoy chatting to total strangers. Great vlog. I really liked hearing from so many people. Thanks for sharing !!
Unfortunately I've never been to a sports card show and im 38 definitely embarrassing to say but my 8 year old son has brought me back into the hobby and together we love watching your vids mojo. You and the hobby have changed my sons and I life path and I could not thank you enough..!! Thank you!
I miss the days when i was young and could walk into a store and find packs/boxes of cards on the shelf. Now its just a bunch of resellers buying up everything
My worst sports card investment was Henry Ruggs 🤦🏻 That one was rough being a Raiders fan. Lol. 2020 hurt me between Ruggs, Damon Arnette and Bryan Edwards lol
Obviously the best thing with card shows is getting to meet new people that share the same passion/hobby! that is on top of getting some great deals, I usually ended up talking way longer to the dealers telling stories to each other and forgot that I was there for a deal.
My favorite moment at a card show was back in 2013, I traded a raw ray Allen prizm + miike miller PSA 9 for 2003 UD Exquisite Collection #6 Dirk Nowitzki PSA 9. The Dirk card comps around 1500 today! I traded for it a little over a year since Dirk led the Mavs to a championship over the Big 3 Miami Heat!!!
No good experiences at card shows so far with picking up any cards. I have been to 3. One I drove 7 hours round trip to find that it had 10 tables maximum. One I went with my brother and nephew and one recently with my nephew. The most memorable moment would be the wrestling that was happening in the ring that they put in the middle of the second show.
Timing is everything unfortunately; I had a PSA 10 Zion Williamson Silver Prizm that I paid $1550 for back in March 2021, when I sold in Jan 2022 I only got $930 😭😭
Talking with the old timers about Vintage is always great. Picking up PC cards that you've been searching for and haven't seen. Completing sets is great. There are many reasons.
My worst is a Justin fields silver variation psa 10. Bought for $250 (guy really wanted to sell it for that it was all the money I had on me) when it was worth $400. The very next week it was $100… I still have it…
Ive never been to a card show. Ive actually never opened a pack or box before. I have only bought singles from flea markets and Ebay. I would LOVE to go to a card show but I cant afford to travel, buy food, hotel, etc so I stick to cheap singles. :/ Love the content though! Baseball is my favorite. Albert Pujols is my favorite player of all time. I just subscribed! This is my first video I have watched of yours... You seem like such a genuine and nice dude. We need more people in the hobby like you Mojo!
I have never been . I’m so excited to just see what’s out there and meet people, I got into this last fall and now I buy, sell, break on whatnot, etc I finally found a hobby to get me through my mental anxiety/depression . It’s been a huge help! Love your Chanel
I went to a card show as a kid and thought it was incredible. I'm just getting back into the hobby. All of the variations of cards are incredibly hard to follow and understand. When I do go to a card show, hopefully I don't feel too intimidated to getting back into this.
I am waiting for Wimpy cards to cool off, but they might not be cool for long in the off-season San Antonio was is going to have another very good draft.
My worst sports card investment was last year I bought a PSA 9 auto grade 10 Kenny picket optic purple stars fotl /50 AUTO for $702 it’s not worth less than $200
How do people continue to over look Mahomes? What more does the guy need to do or prove? Until another qb can show that they can consistently beat him to me he has to be the buy!
I remember I pulled a Kyle Trask and a Trey Lance Zebra RC out of two blasters and I sold the Trask as soon as I pulled it and someone bought it for $400. Good W there. But then I decided to sell the Trey Lance the week NFL starts and an hr before I was going to list on ebay, he broke his leg... and I still held the card thinking he will come back next yr, but we now know that card is worth like $30...
I collected when I was a kid in the 80's. I just started collecting again last year. Live in Ohio and I am going to the National this year in Cleveland! SO EXCITED. I am bringing my dad. Can't wait!!!
Walmart spells center, centre. They put "Space Force" flag inside the store front. Yet NASA says now, we can't go to the moon due to throwing away the tech to do it. Space Force worthy Nation for sure
My worse loss was buying a 2nd year Jordan that had a crease through the middle for $300 😢I did trade it for $125 value 🎉 Favorite experience was taking my daughter and she got one 25 anniversary Pokémon and pulled umbreon gold ⭐️. I need a W brother.

The first mistake was treating cards as an investment.
This is why I only collect who I like.. Good point..
As a newbie I'm speechless
😗😗😗😗
How do you figure? He has made tons of money treating cards as investments
It’s only an investment if you can buy low and sell high. Never overpay. Also if the player ends up being a superstar for a long time or a hall of famer
Somewhere out there a guy has a carson wentz collection. Him and Kenny pickett boys need to meet up with the zack wilson support group
dude im weak... that's the most accurate group of comparrisons ive seen in a long time
Justin Gamble doesn't have any sports knowledge whatsoever.
Carson Wentz stained glass PSA 10. I bought from some guy name MOJO 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
some these guys dont seem like they watch football and throw darts at some of these qbs lol.
I have lost a lot of money in sports cards, between selling the wrong cards at the wrong times, giving cards away SMH I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not selling any cards anymore lol... I'll sell shirts or something.. I collect cards.
Nobody mentioned Wander Franco in their biggest loses...
I go to sports card shows to search for vintage baseball and football cards - and to get autographs when players are available for signings.
I dont invest in cards I collect, but I collect Russell Wilson so I have been buying all the cards I couldnt afford on fire sales.
We all get greedy and end up losing money
Kind of like a pyramid scheme.
Panini and Topps quietly print money while a few dealers get the gold/platinum membership and the ones at the bottom buy the cards when the players have already gotten hot.
Honestly the best part of card show is meeting the people’s all the super nice people just meeting new friends
Facts
I bought every Brian Griese RC I could get my hands on, instead of focusing on Tom Brady RC’s! 🙈 Big Michigan fan!
I am 68 years old and still LOVE the card game. It always takes me back when i get to go to a show . Love what you do MOJO
I traded a Brock Purdy Prizm pandora rookie /400 for a Burrow optic holo rated rookie with a corner issue. 😅
Dollar bins are my favorite part about card shows !
One of my worst losses is a Topps Mike Trout rookie. I bought it at the hype a PSA 7 for over $1000. Probably can buy the same card today for like $400.00.
Yikes, at least he’s one of the few players that will hold value over time
What I’ve found out about card shows is that everyone is on the same team. Collectors collect. Sellers sell. And people are willing to help as much as possible. It’s a great bunch of people (for the most part)
My era in general where we chased Todd van poppel cards and rookies that never panned out. Early 90s
4:07 this take aged well huh 🤦♂Unfortunately poor Justin Herbert gonna be throwing to Harbaugh at this point...I woulda agreed w his take at the time, but as Mr. Bob Dylan said "Times they are a changing!"
👀
One thing I like to do at card shows is to go through value boxes and get base cards to get signed
The biggest loss was recent. A fake Jordan rookie I was tricked into buying for $750 😢😔
Favorite moment was spending time with my dad
Try holding the bag for 30 years. That’s me with 80s & 90s cards.
Well, once the nuclear apocalypse recedes, survivors will be hunting again for the remaining cards. Thats when I'll cash in on those Gary Sheffield rookies.
Best thing about going to card shows.....hanging with like minded Girls and guys, supporting a hobby that we all love, selling, buying, trading...showing the love.
you nailed it to a T
Puig! I picked him as a rookie over trout to invest in. Whoops
Ripping retail since I got into the hobby a couple years ago, that’s my biggest mistake! Should’ve gone after singles and certain hobby boxes with guaranteed hits or autos🤷🏻♂️… another mistake I’m making is not getting over to these dang card shows🙌🏼
OMG, Where do I start 😢 Let's just say it wasn't Kyler Murray 🤦
might come back strong this year. he finished strong last year
My biggest mistake is buying way too much of 2021 topps chrome in 2021. Boxes were $29.99 now they are worth around $15.00 per box.
Worst is buying Mac jones after he got benched
people need to lay off these QB they are the worst investment
That damn trevor lawrence incoming class for $1500 😮 that was the last auto I bought directly from panini..
Worst investment: I have two boxes full of Trey Lance lol...the bet was always more on Kyle Shanahan's offense with the QB along for the ride, but injuries derailed any chance for Lance to develop, and no one knew Shanahan would fall in love with Purdy 🥶
Going to my first card show next weekend! Looking to add to the collection and maybe sell some random singles I’ve got
Oh wow... Herbert, CJ stroud, Chase, JJ, Josh Allen... That dude with the pony tail gave some insane inside info on whoto buy right now
QB's are huge during the nats!! who u buying
@@mojo_sports haha that's obvious...
I think you said "who would you advise people buy right now?"
And he listed off the top players in the NFL... Oh, wow. Thanks.
I woulda thought he'd give rookie suggestions.. or x,y,z.. but he said Herbert.. then burrow.
How is Mahomes not the but still? Everything he has done and continues to do and win! I don’t get it
Worse investment for me was all the Wander Franco cards I bought.
$25k on a 1990 Fleer Jose Uribe “error” card……guess it was a hoax…
I thought Brandon Roy was a legit investment back in the day 😅
The best thing about going to card shows is taking about sports and cads with total strangers.
My worst card investment is a Mac Jones, RPA
My worst investment on a card, is my next purchase... Lol 😂
Card I always want, would be the Tom-Brady Bowman rookie...
A bad investment I had was J.P Crawford and Onyeka Okungwu. Yikes
Kevin Porter Jr and RJ Barrett but I guess he still has a chance lol 😂
My favorite experience going to a card show is watching my kids face light up when they purchase their favorite players' cards.
havent been to a card show in my 14 years of existence, well theres not many where i live. I always wanted to go through dollar boxes to find steals. Theres one card show every month but u have to pay an entry fee and hockey isnt easy to come by
I love going to card shows because I love talking to the dealers and other collectors and getting their opinions on players and cards.
Favorite experience at a card show is just seeing all the stuff. So much history in one room from all sports. I know I cannot afford all of it but it is cool to see.
love that.
I go to card shows to find things I have never seen.
sameeeeeee
Never been to a card show hard to get away from work to do so but I would love to just experience the atmosphere. And be among my fellow collectors people who have that in common with me
I bought a Matt coral psa 9 rc /50 and went down 75%
Shaquille O'Neal stadium club rookie
How much
NO! Modern day sports card is worth in the the thousands of dollars or even in the hundreds for that matter. Can’t wait see the bottom to fall out on Brock Purdy cards😂😂😂
mannnnn bold prediction
Mac Jones, PSA 10 rpa what is my worst investment thinking he would be good
Topps PSA 10 Geoff Wilson 😢
The best thing at card shows is talking to other passionate collectors who can tell me more about a card then just what it is worth. Justin Trouble!!! Justin Jefferson is going to have a rough year without a quarterback and Justin Herbert is equally feel the pain now that all three of his weapons (Ekler, Allen, and Williams) are GONE!
Lots of losses on the hype train of Pickett, Ridder, and Howell. Luckily not me 😂 but not surprised about it one bit.
Talking with other collectors and checking out all the variety of cards being sold are my favorite things about card shows.
Now its just a bunch of resellers buying up everything
man same
My worst sports card investment was Henry Ruggs 🤦🏻
That one was rough being a Raiders fan. Lol. 2020 hurt me between Ruggs, Damon Arnette and Bryan Edwards lol
Favorite experience at card shows, is talking with all of the dealers and sellers about cards and going through all of the value boxes.
Obviously the best thing with card shows is getting to meet new people that share the same passion/hobby! that is on top of getting some great deals, I usually ended up talking way longer to the dealers telling stories to each other and forgot that I was there for a deal.
My favorite moment at a card show was back in 2013, I traded a raw ray Allen prizm + miike miller PSA 9 for
2003 UD Exquisite Collection #6 Dirk Nowitzki PSA 9.
The Dirk card comps around 1500 today!
I traded for it a little over a year since Dirk led the Mavs to a championship over the Big 3 Miami Heat!!!
Been over 10 years since my last card show. Looking forward going to Sacramento this weekend for the card show.
Ayyy my hometown! Have fun man.
The dollar boxes are amazing at the card shows, but only if you get there early
Being a Texan fan, I go caught, with Davis Mills
That Russell Wilson will go back up when the Steelers start the season 6-0
Sheesh let’s go 😊
Herbert is going to win MVP this upcoming season
I’d take the Wilson😂
Me too!
Never been to a card show but theres one coming up and im excited to see who is all into the hobby in the surrounding area
I find cards I want that people don't sell on internet because they don't bring much money.
The only card show I ever been to was at the mall back in the 90’s
My worst is a Justin fields silver variation psa 10. Bought for $250 (guy really wanted to sell it for that it was all the money I had on me) when it was worth $400. The very next week it was $100… I still have it…
Ive never been to a card show. Ive actually never opened a pack or box before. I have only bought singles from flea markets and Ebay. I would LOVE to go to a card show but I cant afford to travel, buy food, hotel, etc so I stick to cheap singles. :/ Love the content though! Baseball is my favorite. I am waiting for Wimpy cards to cool off, but they might not be cool for long in the off-season San Antonio was is going to have another very good draft.
The Wemby take was crayyyyy, they will attract a superstar for him!
Sinorice Moss was my biggest loss. Santana Moss was an impact player, so why not Sinorice while being paired with my boy Eli Manning?
Just seeing all the cool cards, that you dont have a chance to see a lot!
respect
The greatest thing about card shows are the people! Not only do you see a great variety of cards but the people to match! It’s awesome!!
Absolutely!!
Never been to a show but would be looking for any Sammy Sosa's!
In your defense, Russell Wilson has accomplished a lot in the NFL. Many of the QBs that investors have dropped big money on haven't.
Agreed! He’s a SB CHAMP!!
This is Gus Brooks Hey mojo my worst mistake is Desmond Ridder
Mac Jones Prism auto PSA10. Straight garbage and a major let down.
6:14 that Derek Carr though 😍
:D
I remember I pulled a Kyle Trask and a Trey Lance Zebra RC out of two blasters and I sold the Trask as soon as I pulled it and someone bought it for $400. Good W there. Andrew Luck jk 😂.....Trey Lance and Kenny Pickett so far
Walmart spells center, centre.
They put "Space Force" flag inside the store front. Yet NASA says now, we can't go to the moon due to throwing away the tech to do it. Space Force worthy Nation for sure
Favourite experience is just seeing so many different cards and sports memorabilia. It’s like a museum almost.
My worse loss was buying a 2nd year Jordan that had a crease through the middle for $300 😢I did trade it for $125 value 🎉
Favorite experience was taking my daughter and she got one 25 anniversary Pokémon and pulled umbreon gold ⭐️. I need a W brother.
