It's really frustrating to hear people still talk about first week sales or even sales in general (in regards to albums/singles) when we don't live in an era where we make consumers purchase music... so now that's out the way I think she has adopted the right attitude especially since no social media platform, regardless how stable it may seem, is guaranteed... if Tik Tok gets banned; everyone is just gonna migrate somewhere else and creators efforts and energy will follow... also when you look at Social Media and even the streaming platforms she mentioned more as discovery tools instead of the Holy Grail to success I think your rollouts change... so there are artist who have viral moments on Tik Tok and see increased streaming but never obtain radio support... so the more things change the more it shows they truly stay the same and this just highlights the power and influence of radio still in spite of not being the place to break records or artist... so when you talk sales about an artist today I think you have to talk hard ticket sales

I really think you completely over estimate her success and notoriety outside of social media. If I went to some regular, degular person on the street and asked who she was, 9 times out of 10 they probably wouldn’t know. Seeing how the US population is around 330 million, 80 million is almost one fourth of the population and it's mostly made up of the demographic that all advertisers want, which is young people. So this move by UMG could end up harming her career as her (most likely) young fan base will no longer be exposed to her music while mindlessly scrolling their favourite app, as they would now have to go out of their way to find her music, which is unlikely.
