I’m glad you received so many responses to your stitch group. I’ve tried to get one started around my area, but got no responses. Hopefully, I will try again after the first of the year and get a better response. It will soon start to snow in our area. Happy stitching!
All of your stitching was so pretty ! I remember all the times you showed the winter heart in progress, it turned out beautiful ! And the fall finish done with two threads ,love it . SNOW. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Love the stitching and finishes. I love the cardboard bobbins use them for all my DMC. Good luck getting your room at the library. Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Beautiful stitching. Your FFOs are so pretty. I really like the ornament in the hoop. What a great idea. I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week. Time sure does fly the closer you get to the holidays. I’m so thankful we don’t get snow too often in SC.
I read somewhere that walking backwards uses different muscles. Maybe that was what that person was doing. Congratulations on the success of forming a stitch group. I am part of a stitch group and we meet at different locations: libraries, County building conference room, sewing store activities room, conference room at a college, churches. We meet weekly and it took a few years to figure out different places we could meet. I send out the schedule and reserve the library rooms. The people that work at the sewing store and college reserve those rooms, etc. Have fun!
Oh my goodness, it sounds like you got a party getting ready to go on I wish I had one around here but when I have asked either they use to Stitch but not any more because they cannot see good enough to do it you’re stitching is beautiful as usual and I say Stitch from your stash would be wonderful and I cannot wait for the first snow fall to sit and watch it with a cup of hot chocolate
Interesting seeing your Christmas ornament in the wrapped hoop. It's beautiful! Now I'll be looking for stretchy ribbon because I haven't tried that finish.
Yup! Walking backwards is a great exercise. It’s good for your muscles that you don’t normally use when walking. And it’s actually good for your brain too! I’m impressed that somebody can do it outside lol. I’d definitely fall.
Hi Kathy! My embroidery guild recently had to find a new place to meet each month. I'll email you about our search. I enjoy seeing your projects! Have a wonderful day!
Our stitching group meets once a month at a local church, they just requested that each person bring a nonperishable food item for their pantry, they do not charge for use of the room.
Snow is just around the corner. I go to a group at our library also. Maybe a local senior center at the city recreation department might have free or cheap rooms to meet up.
Great idea to stitch your stash for 2024. Your stitching is always wonderful and your finishes are great! Have you checked with some of your local churches for a space? Maybe for free or a small donation. Happy Thanksgiving!!
Hello. I belong to several stitching groups and am in charge of setting ip the place for one of them. We started at library and registering for room. It was kind of a pain. We moved to a panera bread whom were happy to have us but we outgrew it. We then used a food court at the mall which worked except for lighting was not always good but we brought our own lights. We now found a restaurant with a large back room and ok lighting. They just ask if some of us can buy food and drinks. We do that. It works fine. My other group joined our senior center and they gave us a great room with bright lights for free. I hope this helps.
Your stitching is so vibrant. You must smile every time you look at one of your finishes. I am curious…would you give yourself the room to keep a list of the patterns that caught your eye and invite hubby to purchase from the list for birthday and anniversary? I bet he would support your plan and love to give you a wanted pattern. Yes I do bobbinate and yes I prefer the cardboard ones so I can easily write the number on the top.
Love your WIPS - they are so pretty. Love your Finishes. I love the way you finish them. It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week - my area is suppose to get Rain and Snow next week. Happy Thanksgiving Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵❤️
I always enjoy seeing what youve been working on. The berry heart is so pretty. Congratulations on getting that framed before Christmas! I saw your nativity on install and it didnt register that i had just purchased that and a few other of A New Creation designs recently. Its nice to see it finished! Id like to get it stitched before Christmas. We'll see. Thats awesome that you got a stitch group underway! Ive thought about getting one started here where i live, but I dont have an "in" with business owners. Im not sure if our little library even has a room, but youve given me a place to check. I dont want to be putting out funds for a room, either. I was told there used to be a small group called "Hookers and Stabbers of (County)" 😂😂 that I could revamp and take over. As funny as that name is, I dont think I'd keep it. I'll be watching the thread on this video for any further tips. Happy Thanksgiving!
Enjoyed your video! Your finishes are beautiful! I am trying to stitch from my stash as well. Some days I do good and other days, I'm not so good. Ha! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
Hi Cathy. Happy Thanksgiving!! Your Nativity piece is stitched and finished so nicely. Such a pretty ornament. Do you watch Dena's flosstube, half stitch cross stitch? She is a stitcher in GA and she hosts a group at a library each month I believe, so she may have some tips and info for you. Good luck with the group. I'm lucky enough to have a group that meets each Thursday (and it's great) and also be part of the local EGA. It is very local to me so I'm blessed. Happy stitching. I hope the snow stays away from you for a while.
Do you have a restaurant that has a separate room for parties? Some will accommodate craft groups if you eat a meal there. Some Michaels and JoAnn Fabric stores have classrooms that they will allow craft groups to meet at. Does one of the members attend a church that would be willing to loan out a room for a small donation? Good luck finding a place!
I always like your videos! 😊
Very pretty finishes.
Congrats on forming a stitching group.
Marilyn

Your stitches are beautiful. I did Blackbird Yellow Submarine. I'm going to start The Long and Winding Road. Strawberry Fields is very intimidating!

I know Dena and have been to her meetup several times! It's wonderful! Yes, I will ask her for pointers!
