You don't need to be a Guitar player to benefit from the Sky academy. Uli truly explains balance in life, art and in all things. As a photographer Uli has helped me fine tune and see things to create the best images possible.

Both of these guys do it with technique and tone...Uli does it with pure tone. Listen at 7:15> ...tone. The most underrated player on the planet.
That guitar must have 30 frets available to him on the high E!!! on average 8 frets more, which gives him another whole octave to utilize!! ...and the "sky guitar" with 7 strings...Uli you never cease to amaze me!!
Brilliant.... I've seen Uli play live with the Scorpions and Electric Sun, Uli is indeed the Master, the greatest, most gifted guitar player that ever lived, bar none.......And I worship Michael Schenker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Satriani, etc, etc....

He did compose some really out of this world weird guitar licks during his time with The Scorpions ...try listening to Sails Of Sharon - the original album version... listening to the tone live and loud in a concert then in the mid seventies was just so amazing ...one of those licks that make you wanna learn to play on stage

Pretty standard rendition (not a bad thing) of a great song, and well played. However, Uli is not a very good singer. I still can't get over his non-anchored picking hand. Wild.
if you listen to his early solo stuff, his voice is actually pretty good, you gotta think, hes an old man now...on top of an english speaking german accent.
His vocals aside...yes he's a virtuoso, and in my top 10 list of favorite guitar heroes...the opening to this song was amazing...love the closed eyes and look of pure happiness on his face. He is classically trained, so the transition to rock was lucky for us all.
