    Mr. Andrew I can't thank you enough for sharing this top quality content with us! It makes me feel so blessed that I live in a day and age where such great artists showcase their art and process with us. Where do I begin? The composition of this painting and it's subject is unique in ever single aspect and it's genius how you encompassed everything from the sky, stretched fields, cliffs, trees and flowing river at the bottom in one painting (I'm glad your client decided for it to be a landscape painting instead of vertical)! I especially like the red rocks and how you reflected different colors off them depending on the sky color and their surroundings. It was so therapeutic watching you paint them layer by layer. The ripples of water and shades of green are captivating and perfectly executed. Each tree and bush feels like it has a life of its own and its own which makes this painting even more special and natural. The sky is so moody and when you painting the clouds for some reason I felt nostalgic cause it reminded me of a place I've never been before (does that make sense?). The person who commissioned you this painting so so so lucky!!! And I understand what you mean by getting emotionally attracted to your paintings, but hopefully it's new owner will cherish and love it well.
    As for you videos, I'm very impressed by how you keep improving them when we think that they can't be improved anymore! 19 minutes flew by so quickly and I never once felt bored at all. I love how you showcased specific parts and not the whole process but beautifully pieced it together like a story line. It felt like I was watching something magical which personally I don't get often from RUclips. It's also great how you added tips and technical parts to it (as an artist this helps a lot) with a spin of humor. Everything is perfectly balanced and i truly hope the best for you and your art career. I just wanted to sincerely let you know your art, videos and content has huge positive impact on our lives and I wrote this comment because I know sometimes it might not feel like it. Thank you so much we appreciate it! Cheers from Saudi Arabia!

    I'm a doctor by profession but an artist since childhood. I shifted my entire playground to digital for logistical reasons into Procreate on iPad but still miss the sense of painting actually on a canvas. I started watching your videos and implemented your technique. Start from furthest away and come closer to viewer as I go. Also, start with Blocking, then Modelling and finally Detailing. Thanks to you, I really love this method and I improved myself so much. I use only traditional looking tools even on digital medium and don't go for hyper-realism, but make it look real from far, but show all the painterly brush strokes if the viewer comes close, or in my case zooms in on the painting. It's always great to see you work on masterpieces like this and pushes me to do something epic as well! 🙏🏼

      I am far shy from being a great guitarist or singer, but the joy I get and share (the real joy) makes it so worthwhile. I am quite fond of birds and might take up painting, but I know that nothing I do can compare to Andrew. I take inspiration from his work and know what ever I do will be OK.

    • @lonestarr1490
      @lonestarr1490 3 года назад +2

      Actually, this is pretty important. Your painting should already 'work' after the blocking phase. It's virtually impossible to fix with details what you have messed up during the composition of the overall shapes.
      That said, Andrews blocking is definitely on the 'involved' side. Typically, when blocking you aim for the main colors of areas in the right saturation and overall harmony of colors. So you would normally move quick and make many adjustments, until you're satisfied.
      But I guess the process has to be adjusted when working on such massive formats, since I can imagine it's pretty easy to get kind of lost in the landscape and to simply forget what is supposed to be what. So you have to somehow convey those informations to your future self in the next drawing phase.

    Just the first layer was already amazing! You are so talented but also a really hard worker. You're a inspiration to me. I look up to you and your dad.
    You're the reason why I draw every single day, no excuses. Outstanding piece Andrew. One could spend a life time contemplating this painting and be fascinated with each brush stroke. Thank you for sharing your process and giving us advices along the way. Great value as always.

    I am going to start a new landscape painting with lots of geological structure. So I'm seeing your videos to get some tips. NOW IM TOTALLY MAD🤒, There are lots of things to learn about colors and brushes and compositions. Specially the use of transparency is just 😍. Now I need to settle my mind and have to look into your technique step by step.
    You are "THE GREAT MASTER"🙏
