My highschool food was actually good. They would always have burgers that were dry as hell, but it always seemed like there was at least one of a slice of pizza (not rectangle actually good triangle slices), nachos, or giant bread pretzels with nacho cheese
everyone is talking about good nachos, I wasn't so lucky. My school had the same items for elementary-high school, but in middle and high they added new items, made you choose what you could get, you know, what most schools had. And the food that remained from back in elementary was usually a last resort (except one pasta with garlic bread entree, which was fire) But the nachos used to be good. In elementary, they let you choose between no toppings, meat, cheese or both. In middle school, we lost the option of no toppings and in high school, you had to get both. Don't ask me why, I still don't know. The meat sauce was actually good tho, but the cheese was rancid
the pizza was horrible
Bro for me when our school would serve breakfast foods for our lunch I would usually be disappointed because we would get miserable soaked with water eggs tatertots that would taste like dookie and stale, musty, crusty, pancakes and a kid in our class would always warn us when his mom isn’t cooking because his mom works in the kitchen (I don’t get what he means by cooking because half the time it would just be food from our high school leftover) but every time his moms not cooking the food is bussin and today the food was actually good and I took the pancakes, tatertots, and eggs, and smashed them together to make a sandwich (we got two pancakes) and it was probably the best lunch ever 10/10
The chicken patties at my school were so good up until 7th grade when they started to buy something cheaper and they were awful. Probably the best up until that point
That was literally all of my food in school they went for a good version then switched to cheap af ones
Luckily for my school our Spicy chicken sandwiches stayed good throughout my time there
It wasn’t made directly in the cafeteria, but every other Thursday my middle school would serve Papa Johns. It was always amazing, and you would always hurry to lunch on the next day for even the slightest chance of getting leftovers
Same, just the Papa Johns I had was just not good
Also, I've never heard of toasty dogs. We had Totally Taco Snax. They were disgustingly awful. They were little bread with bad tasting filling.

3:58 our school had this when I was in kindergarten to about second grade then they stopped serving them. I loved them and wish they still made them.

Just like the turkey and potatoes we had Swedish meatballs, potatoes, gravy buttery loaded corn and green beans oh my god it so good
The lunches all drastically changed after hitting 6th grade. We had a sub bar there, so I usually got those unless I knew it was pizza(which changed but was still great but sometimes tasted cardboard), Tacos, or Turkey and Gravy.

That square pizza was served as lunch in my elementary school. Middle school and beyond they used normal pizza sizes.

at my school every friday we get pizza bagels, veggies, milk, hot chocalte, cookies, smoothies. It is so good. BUSSIN. #1 on my list.

I went to a prep school that had a consistent menu: P.F. Chang’s on Monday, local Italian on Tuesday, firehouse subs on Wednesday, mooyahs on Thursday and Chick-fil-A on Friday. The problem is it was expensive as hell and it got old fast. When I moved to my current school the food was just regular lunch food and honest to god I missed a good ol scoop of beef and cheese on nachos or a chicken wrap with a freshly air fried tender in the middle. It was nostalgic and basically a high for me.

Our elementary school was super ass you could squeeze juice out of the teriyaki chicken and fill half a cup and they still looked dry as hell. The pizza was ass too they didn’t give us sauce and the cheese wasn’t that good. Our middle school gives us chick fil a ive been living off of chick fil a for 2 years now and doesn’t get old.
we have mini burger sliders that come with actual crispy fries that arent soggy every once per 2 months and they are fucking bomb

I went to school down in Redwood Falls. We had some pretty good meals. My top 3 was probably spaghetti, tater tot hotdish, and either hamburgers or cheese bread dunkers
