- Have you ever heard an electric ukulele through an Octave fuzz?

Watched your video and bought a pathfinder and as a ukulele player I now feel like an electric guitar player with it…. It’s excellent… and yes great roasted maple 🍁 🔥🎸
Looks like a guitarra baiana from Brazil. Once you find what I like to call the “ mole’ “ sounds on a ukulele, it takes you to a different level. The fade and the finish on both instruments is very nice. Good playing too.
In my old band I played an electric baritone uke (around 19" scale). Just like a guitar missing two strings. When the band started it was a bluegrass/americana thing and I played a soprano uke that I put metal strings on (sounds like a cross between a banjo and a mando). Eventually I just got an electric uke and customized the hell out of it.
NOTE: You can find tenor sized electric ukes (like the Flight) for around $100 on Amazon, ZZSounds, Walmart, etc. But an electric baritone is a much better option for a guitar player.
I’m a ukulele guy looking into electric. Thanks for a helpful review. I’m very impressed with the Flight.
That Uke genuinely made me smile! Roasted Maple rocks in whatever scale ...
Fantastic breakdown of the Pathfinder Uke. Mine should be arriving in a couple of hours. Then I get my hands on that ROASTED MAPLE. Lol.
I would argue that a guitar doesn't replace a ukulele.
I ordered one the Pathfinder from Amazon. I also ordered some DiMarzio pickups and D'Addario NYXL's to upgrade it also. i will have to do a little carpentry work for the pickups to fit but its ok.
I’d like to see what you do to it!
@@TheGuitarGeek The Pathfinder is the better of the two. I still want to do some carpentry and install a DiMarzio True Velvet or Fast Track in the neck and tossing NYXL 10-52 strings on them. Oh, and ... Roasted Maple.
@@TheGuitarGeek i ended up not getting the Pathfinder and not get the DiMarzio pickups. I got the Centurian instead. It sounded great out of the box with little setup. The pickups are nice. i did get the strings. That was really the only tweaking needed out of the box. I lucked out. As I know that sometimes even with the big name companies once in a while a junk one slips thru the cracks and gets by quality control (if any). I play it out of my Vox AD30VT or my Boss Katana thru my pedalboard.
E-uke is brilliant. A little on the expensive side, but it got me interested. Steve Cassidy modded the heck out of his Jet 400 and now it sounds like a million bucks.
ROASTED MAPLE on a solid body uke? Very nice! Cool toy, looks like a lot of fun!
It really is dude. I recommend
Ukulele player here! Although I have been subbed to your roasted maple channel for sometime, I've only just happened upon this video. I was curious to find out what a guitar player would think of an electric uke. Glad you liked it!
Interesting points about the setup. I've read plenty about how some people have struggled with that and finished up sending them back because they couldn't get them set up correctly.
I have one and love it! It also comes in Black but blue is beautiful
I am neither of those categories. I am a Accoustic, semi accoustic and Electric ukulele and guitar player that plays both rhythm and lead and I also play flute, recorder, keyboard and violin. I already own a Flight Centurion.
Absolutely loved your video. I've been rocking with my Pathfinder for a while and trying to inform the interweb of effects and ukes! Thanks and subscribed! "ROASTED MAPLE" ;-)
The neck on that thing is lovely!
Dude that is one fun looking uke, love the finish too 🙌🏻🎸🎶
Ukulele player here. Great video.
Roasted Maple!😂
Hey, thanks!
Loved the video, loved the uke. I saw one in a shop last week. Hope it's still there on Tuesday.
Watched in two parts... I roasted maple in between.
Big love from Spain and happy new year everybody!
Edit.
I know I'm late for this one. I searched after seing it in the shop.
Chord shapes are same, just leave off the E & A strings and capo fifth fret. Voila! You have a ukulele.
Grogu vs Wookiee versions both sound great which one did you spill the roasted maple syrup on???
I am a new subscriber Andy and I love what you do as well as your manner and sense of humor. I'm a little confused on this one though. I'm seriously considering purchasing a JS 450 so very much value your opinion. At the 17:21 mark of the video you talk about the guitar working fantastically, and that it is brilliant! Then later on at about 18:27 you say it just doesn't feel that great. I understand your concern about the sound and the pickups but it just gets confusing when you mention that it's brilliant in terms of construction and playability and then say it just doesn't feel that great. Is there something beyond the pickups and cheap strings that you feel we should know about? Not a criticism .... just seeking clarification. Thanks!
Hi, ant here, came for the Pathfinder, stayed for the roasted maple and now what am I doing? Watching loads of your videos, loving them all; I don’t even play guitar hahaha! Tysm 🐜
That’s great news! Welcome to the channel ❤️
Roasted maple! Me and my wife love watching your videos together (she loves your hair btw), she plays ukulele and I play guitar so it was practically the perfect episode for us! 😁
Oh wow!! Enjoy it! Now you can share pedals 😍
@@TheGuitarGeek she has an electro acoustic and has already stolen several ha ha 🙂
Roasted maple 👍 I think that the electric ukulele looks like a lot of fun, sounded cool too. I like the Jet guitars but agree I would buy it & want to upgrade the pickups
These roasted maple necks on both the jet guitars and the flight uke are simply beautiful.
I was wondering, what is the pedal that you used at 04:20?
Thanks for this lovely review :)
Roasted maple....that was interesting...cool paint work...!!!
Great review. Just purchased a Pathfinder and waiting for it to arrive.
I was thinking of a travel guitar or a ukulele for my daughter. That roasted maple neck seems a good option for both!
Roasted Maple has turned me into a Uke aficionado. That thing is AMAZING.
it must be done!
What a shame about the 450 pickups. I love Jet guitars, and when I saw that I fell in love. Nearly bought one... but this video stopped me.
Roasted Maple! I wonder if Julia Child ever had a recipe for that? 😁
I bet it would smell delicious
Rosted maple, hmmmm tasty! This Uke might be great for traveling, if you want to keep your fingers trained.
Hi, what strings should I buy for this uke? The pathfinder is already in my own.
Got a box of spare (good) pickups, so seriously considering the 450. Roasted maple for that money? Nice.
Brilliant! Now I know what I will get as gift someday to my Uke playing SO. In reality it will be for me tho...
Ha ha ha 100 points for honesty
Roasted Maypoles you say? The pathfinder looks like a lot of fun. Very nice.
it is! (plus fuzz)
@@TheGuitarGeek What more can we ask for. :D
Awesome review of the pathfinder! Question re strings. What gauge do you recommend? And I presume one uses electric guitar strings? Would you recommend high or low G on the pathfinder? Thanks, and rock on!
Jet guitars are now available in guitar guitar
good to know!
thanks man
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I love that Uke Andy. It looks and sounds so cool. You’re always challenging me in a great way. The Js 450 is amazing looking with an awful lot of potential. Brilliant video 😀👍👍👍
Roasted maple sir !
I like carrots and parsnips roasted. Maple syrup glaze is great on them.
I love my chicken roasted. Maple syrup is delicious on waffles! I want that Uke! Another quality video Andy. Thank you.
Looks like i am a 5'3" ant.
I really like the electric ukulele and the roasted maple makes it even better. I’d like to see you play some metal with it.
That’s a great idea! I don’t have the uke any more but I will get some metal on the other one done
Roasty Toasted maple!! The uke is very cool!
I thought the 7.25 neck on my 57 AVRI Strat was skinny, wow, thanks for a comprehensive review of an interesting Uke.
Yep this is one skinny boy!
@@TheGuitarGeek super playable for me, as a uke-only player who's stoked on it!
Does the tremolo on the 450 float?
Great review!
Do you know what gauge those 'floppy', stock strings are please?
Sorry I don’t but I’m sure flight can help you
@@TheGuitarGeek No worries! Thanks for responding anyway 🍻😁
Not roasted maple? Roasted potatoes are much better... to eat. Shame about those pups on the 450, as it looks very nice AND has a roasted maple neck :-0)
Roasted maple! - I'm allways struggling with the "weird" tuning of ukuleles...
How are they gonna shred if they can't even reach the strings?
HELL YEAH!!!
Hell YEEEEEAH
After a year I find this...and roasted maple.
I'm here as a Uke guy. A beginning Uke guy.
Hi Michael, enjoy that Uke!
That looks fun.
Please answer my question! How long is the ukulele? 39 inches?
It's a tenor uke - average 26" in length.
I played one the other day and it was similar size to my acoustic tenor.
Roasted maple 🤣
Roasted Maple! I've never wanted a uke until today. But I should probably buy a new guitar first!
Why not both?
@@TheGuitarGeek haha. I wish I’m stuck with Gibson dreams and a Squire budget.
Where can I buy this Jet to US?
Hey, Links are in the video description. That will take you to the dealers.
Uke player 👍
Luscious Roasted Maple....
What is this?...A guitar for Ants?...The guitar has to be at least...3 times bigger than this! Hahahahaha 🤘👽
Hahahahaha
Wow that thing is tiny
Roasted Maple, Tickle me Andy!
hahahah patreon extra...?
Roasted Maple. Have been learning ukulele alongside learning guitar. I think the Flight electric ukulele may be just what I need. May also give the Jet guitars a look! Great Review!
Roasted Maple!
Roasted Maple. :D
Now being a guitarist that dabbles with mandolin. If they made that with double string courses and tuned it to fifths.... 🤔
dude nothing wrong with a 4 string electric mandolin; trem is better left to acoustic mandos. Just convert the Flight to mandolin tuning. I did that with the Eastwood electric uke. I might get the Flight for its wider string spacing.
Rosted maple
Roasted maple! Slewww! Slicy dicey ! The look of love ! Tune ups!! Edgy EDGY...Metro 20 #PEDALTRAINLOVESAUSTRIA.
