Serving in the military whether your deployed or not makes a huge difference. You make yourself useful and learn tons of new skills mental and physical. Reality is that there can be no test to prepare you for the horrors to come in real war. It's truely hell on earth, de brødre der blev sendt afsted og ikke kom tilbage, må i, i sandhed hvile i fred!
When looking back at this war and the badass coalition forces who fought against the Taliban, I wonder how many of the allied governments dealt with Pakistani and Saudi complicity. How we continued this fight while the Pakistani and Saudi intelligence services continued to help the Taliban rest, refit, and rearm over the border in Pakistan is crazy. Between hundreds of millions of dollars in Saudi money and every kind of aid given by Pakistan, the war could've gone on forever. Arab Jihadists who were not even teenagers when this war started, are now in Afghanistan, fighting for the Taliban. It's time to stop giving countries who support terrorism such free reign to ruin the lives of so many people. Independence from petroleum worldwide will bring about revolution in many Arab states, and hopefully freedom for the millions who live under this extreme tyranny. This series does such an amazing job of showing, at ground level, the sacrifices made by coalition soldiers and Marines. It shows how brave these guys were to see their friends getting blown up on one day, and going out on patrol again the very next, knowing there were IED's everywhere. The hundred degree heat must've been hell all by itself, without getting shot at and having to wear full kit with body armor. I don't even know how a human being keeps their witts about them or gets their body to acclimate in that kind of heat. These guys are just incredible, chasing down the Taliban relentlessly.
I came to the conclusion after a couple of years that US and then western countries just wanted a "real war exercise" were their units could train for a real war and then know they have a good war fighting capability. It was just a feeling I got then and feels reinforced now. Bonus to that would be a possible upped functionally of the local police and army in Afghanistan to keep the bad guys out, I don't think the Afghanis themselves saw that as an opportunity to rely on in any way. To be honest, it seems like every village work for themselves so any outsider even though they're Afghan will not be tolerated. As soon as they started with only and real guerrilla tactics it wasn't worth it anymore, therefore they begun backing out. Just my 5 cents, I could be way off. E shrugg
WOW, the Warrior Silbo's expression of Afghanistan as like too his ex-girlfriend, the he hated because of the bad and abusive ways she inflicted upon him. As soon as he stepped off that bird he forgot everything, all the bad. That is until she hurt him again. Things slowly changed in our AO. The people began to trust us and trust was definitely earned! We had expected them to give us a house occupied by insurgents. After finding the house abandoned we figure it for an ambush point and hauled ass to set up a counter-ambush. After 6hrs of nothing we headed back to base. Halfway there we were stopped by our informant. He told us we passed our test of trust. And if we failed them the lives of every woman and child in the village were under a death sentence. We decided then and there we would protect these people even if our Command decided against it. Luckily they did not or they might have faced a mutiny to keep these people from dying! It has happened elsewhere. Anyways we set up a small platoon command. Eventually the village became very very safe! I hope your politicians care more for their Mlilitary Servicemen than they about their public image and financial accounts. America politicians care little for the actual middle class and down. Even though they make up the majority of our military and all are volunteers. +Frabbledabble the explosives used are often very unstable so you won't have to step on it, or drive over it with the wheel to trigger the IED or mines but it explodes when the ground around the explosives are compressed, very unfair weapon of choice :[
Choosemeiwin Cho still... Imagine placing a proximity weapons some random place in afghanistan... What are the odds someone is gonne drive right there...
Frabbledabble yeah i understand you but it's not totally random. usually the terrorists/taliban watch the soldiers movement around the terrain and try to look for a pattern which they will use for advance to place the IEDs, it's like after the years of fighting and planting bombs the ground has become poisonous.
Well they put down alot of them.... Also randomly in areas where they know we drove and just hoped for the best.. And of course also in known tracks... And under paved roads...
+Sneezy We wouldn't want people to think our soldiers are suffering now, would we. We want to see them killing Taliban while screaming ''FREEDOM MUTHAFUCKA!!!''.
Aaaah okay makes sense. I was a bit confused when I watched this.

still...
I'm surprised they didn't censor his legs.
Why would they?
It's a documentary that shows war, if you censor it you don't see war.
Sneezy I don't know. It's just what I've seen National Geographic and Discovery do most often.
J Thomas those are american based channels, that's your answer. ;)
+Sneezy We wouldn't want people to think our soldiers are suffering now, would we. We want to see them killing Taliban while screaming ''FREEDOM MUTHAFUCKA!!!''.
I think a lot of ppl need to see the brutality of war uncensored
How do they get intel that Taleban sees them and will use heavier weaponry? Seems very specific. Eternal respect for these men!
Electronic warfare - listening in on Taliban talking on the radio.
Aaaah okay makes sense. I was a bit confused when I watched this.
Tak!
That unit is from my home town.
This why my country never send our troops to overseas for going wars
I know how he felt about being broken!!
The cowards are afraid to fight face to face NOT hide an ied and hide with the women.

Any Dane that can tell me what accent Resch has?
Hello i live in denmark and What does rech meen
+KingOfParrots I'm a dane and I dont think there is anything unusual about his accent. Maby hes from the more rual Denmark.
It sounds like he is from Sjælland/ Zealand.
Well there are really only two distinct accents in Denmark, and you can tell them apart easily because those from Sjælland speak the words as they are written, while those from Jylland speak only half the words, and there are apostrophes everywhere.
22:00 fucking hardcore man!
Wait this isnt attack on titan
One of my friends fought in the war, it is so heartbreaking to hear all of this.
For moderlandet!
The title should've been "The Floor Is Lava" lmao
The ground is poisonous (Jorden er giftig) is the danish name of the childrens game called "The floor is lava".
