Neat watch! That brand name though 🙄 Here in Japan it would be laughable, as nezumi means “rat” - not exactly something I would want written on my wrist.
The name Nezumi came from a book David read as a child about a Japanese ”Robin Hood” called Nezumi Kozo whom stole from the rich samurai and gave to the poor. We at Nezumi Studios support numerous charities, hence the name.
A fair review, Jody. I’ve owned the blue dial version of the Voiture and it is a favourite piece in my collection. I think blue might suit more collector’s tastes. I’m totally happy with the quality and design! No issue with the price personally. It’s gotten me much more than usual attention and compliments across the board from collectors and people who aren’t watch enthusiasts. To the quality control / customer service concern ... Having done my research about their early issues, I emailed Nezumi to inquire about quality control when ordering last September. Very attentive and pleasant customer service and correspondence from the owner before and after purchasing. Definitely stood out as a very positive email exchange for me. I believe they’ve focussed on and ironed out issues from their entry into the market. I would definitely purchase from them again. LIke Jody I’d really like to see them develop some more models. If gold looked good on me I’d get the JPS Loews ... As it doesn’t, I’m waiting to see what other offerings they’ll come up with next.
You really hit the nail on the head Jody! I have one of these (in a different colorway) and it's one of my favorites, for all the reasons you said: The real love and attention to the fine details like sapphire and the numbers on the bezel and such really elevate it beyond the other competing microbrand offerings I have. Kind of like the difference between drinking a beer out of any old glass from your pantry, or drinking it from the special pint glass you chilled in the freezer first. The contents are the same but the package elevates the experience just that tiny bit. I would also be delighted to buy another watch from them...if they'd make a new model! I don't have a niche to fill with any of their other offerings.
PSA: Nezumi doesn't have the best reputation. Their first watch was launched on kickstarter and was shipped with a typo. To the best of my knowledge, they did not make good on the defect. Anyway, seems like a decent watch, but do your homework.
Meanwhile I picked up a Swiss-made Glycine GL1005 for $200 + tax at Ashford... (They run periodic sales ALL THE TIME). Day, date, 7 hands (the 12 hour chrono subdial has two tiny hands - hours and minutes), 1/10 chrono accuracy, nice lume, sapphire crystal, nice metal bracelet, 200 meter water resistance, "diver's" style unidirectional rotating bezel... Just saying 🤷♂️
That’s a fine looking ‘70’s style Motorsport Chrono. It just looks the goods from every angle. I’m a fan of the colour you have chosen too. TBH, I frickin’ love a meca-quartz movement. The best of both worlds in my opinion. I’ve got a few in my collection and a few straight quartz chrono’s as well. I *much* prefer the meca-quartz. And sometimes we all just want to pick up a watch, slap it on the wrist and get out the door. They haven’t cut costs anywhere else buy the look of it... and it’s not a watch I’d be paying north of $1.5K for if it was mechanical anyway. Love the packaging too!
Agree. I'd put the JPS BMW of Australian touring car fame in that list too. Black and Gold just look good together. The JPS Lotus team of the early 70s were not only best presented, but quick as well. Tragic and victorious is the story of that team unfortunately, RIP Ronnie Peterson.

Absolutely! I picked one up a few weeks ago and love it... it is an homage to the racing chrono they actually made back in the early 70s! Wonderful watch - Swiss ISA quartz mimics second hand sweep (similar to the SEIKO VK movement) when chronograph is engaged. I got mine new for $240 out the door at watchstation.com The prices vary from month to month, but a fantastic watch with some history for not much $$$. Definitely an alternative... that said, I do like the styling and apparent quality of these Nezumis as well. Also, going back to Jody’s comp to the DH... that’s a tough one. Yeah, you get one additional year of warranty... plus a sapphire crystal vs sapphire coated (which, if it works, is all you need, as the sapphire resists scratches). The Dan Henry’s are $80 less, include S&H, AND include a very nice, genuine leather watch roll. It all depends on the styling you want and whether you really think you’ll need that 2nd year of warranty. Either way, Nezumi is a nice option to have amongst some good competition.

Hmmm... €360 for a Mechaquartz? It does look pretty, mind you. I think I actually prefer their Loews in its Panda-guise. The proper racing strap is a nice touch. But without having handled either watch, I'd have a hard time getting this one over one of the Dan Henry race chronos.

These Seiko mecaquartz don't have a hands reset procedure. I couldn't find one in the manual of the model I had and there is a video on RUclips chronicling that fact.

Similar specs as parnis daytona and very different price also different dials... and what a great dials!!! I suggest them only sell the dial and people make their watch mods
Interesting. Appearance wise these have got something of the Speedmaster Racing, or perhaps the Tudor Heritage Chrono about them. Not bad at all. Would like to see some automatic, or even manual wind, options available.
Do you really need 330 ft of water resistance as opposed to 165 ft? Sunlight disappears at 100 ft (33 meters) and most diving takes place between 25 and 80. At twice the working pressure (80 x 2) 50 meters is more than adequate, unless your swimming pool or bath tub have a really deep, deep end.
Good review. I think it's overpriced for a Swiss watch with a Seiko movement. Not that there's anything went with Seiko, but for $345 I would expect more. I will say that it might be the best looking Chrono I've seen. Very retro, the right way.
What do you think of the watches featured on Ideal World TV shopping channel (and their website)? A few nice ones like Vostok but an awful lot of tat like ‘Reign’ which they have the nerve to say ‘normal retails at £800’!
Fantastic channel, watches I've never heard of and watches I can afford. Legibility a big thing for me though, diver or not main function is still to show the time init.
@@JustOneMoreWatch Yikes... I was just going to suggest Junkers chronographs since I bought one for under €400 about 10 years ago. But they must've stopped using those Russian mechanical movements because all the mechanical ones they offer now are Valjoux/ETA and cost €1350 - €1700.
I did not knew this brand. Very beautiful watchs, just like i love, related to classic cars. But, the name and the origin are very confuse: Nezumi = rat or Robin Hood; Voiture = car; Stockholm Sweden on the dial, but manufatured in Germany?... The mecanism is Japanese... What a confusion...
Who else has discovered so many other brands because of Jody and his excellent channel and presentation. Bravo Jody, stay safe

Nice reflection trick on the sides of a dial.
I want that James Hunt shirt.
I rather like the mustard/brown look! For $340, I wish they used sapphire crystal and a manual wind movement.
Interesting. Appearance wise these have got something of the Speedmaster Racing, or perhaps the Tudor Heritage Chrono about them. Not bad at all. Would like to see some automatic, or even manual wind, options available.
Great review
I’ve checked out this exact watch and liked it quite a bit. The quality is good but the price is slightly high.
I saw, "Better than Dan Henry" and had to click. Jody, you cheeky one! ;)
Looks Awesome. Dijon heaven!
If I wanted a Speedmaster homage, I’d get the Alpha and get a hand wind movement along with it. Oh wait, I did. For half the blooming price!
But, umm, this one isn't a Speedmaster homage.
Jouni Mikkola the case is practically a dead ringer, especially the twisted lugs.
@@jacobgreenmanedlion1863 The raised bezel is very Speedmaster too.
Same basic specs as the Pagani Design Daytona, wonder how you think they compare Jody (beyond the originality question)?
Fantastic channel, watches I've never heard of and watches I can afford. Legibility a big thing for me though, diver or not main function is still to show the time init.
Thanks mate!
I had my eye on Dan Henry for a quartz chrono to add to the collection now I have to save a few more pennys
You can Zodiac Grandrally right now for $250 (at least in the USA) as another option for around $250
I know because it was in my cart last night lol
Some of the indices are a bit wonky and when you did a macro shot, they all looked a bit dirty too. Looks good from far away
If I don't press the pushers, do you think this would be ok for swimming?
I think that the Roue TPS chrono would give this one a run for the money .
I have the blue variant and it’s really nice! One of my favorites. A lot of micro brand haters in here.
It's pretty cheap and crude to call haters those who don't share the same opinion with you.
Alexandros That’s what the internet is all about - you’re entitled to your own opinion. Hope you’re calling everyone else out as well.
I would pay double to have a nice mechanical movement inside. Why quartz?
You would need to pay at least double for an auto. Not that many options really. Seagull T1940 or ETA2894 are the two that I can think of. Cheers!
This seems to be a template as the Yema Rallygraf have a similar look and a vk mecaquartz.
No sapphire on yema unfortunately
I did not knew this brand. Very beautiful watchs, just like i love, related to classic cars.
But, the name and the origin are very confuse: Nezumi = rat or Robin Hood; Voiture = car; Stockholm Sweden on the dial, but manufatured in Germany?... The mecanism is Japanese... What a confusion...
