50 years ago (1973) - 10th World Youth Festival and great procession in Berlin

In 1973, as a citizen of West Berlin, I visited the capital of the GDR (East Berlin) several times. The 10th World Youth Festival in particular was an impressive experience. The 9 days from the end of July were characterized by tolerance and cosmopolitanism that I had not experienced in the GDR before or until 1989.
In the same year I also watched the NVA's large parade at the Neue Wache.
