Thank you for your precious information. I contacted the manufacturer yesterday to find out if they would have a version for using the 4G sim card here in Brazil and they asked me to wait until June, when they will launch a version of the LC90 Global radio version. 73

Thank you for great review. What I find most puzzling it’s the fact that Choyong does not share info what platform supports internet radio feature. For all other internet radios you can manage the list of stations online, which is not the case here. Someone mentioned that it uses skytune, but it does not

I don't have this radio yet for experiments. I have others, a rack Tunersys and a small portable Ocean Digital. You made a comment about the LC90 making use of the Skytune streaming service. If so, take a test. Try to identify in your radio settings when connected to the WiFi router which IP number is connected. Copy this number and type it into the Internet browser on your cell phone, also connected to the same WiFi as the radio, and try to open the IP address. If your browser searches for a page called My Favorites you will have confirmation that the LC90 uses Skytune. Then on this My Favorites page you can enter the mp3 streaming addresses and radios you want and save them on your LC90 in the Favorites folder. This is how it works on my two Internet radios. If you do, please provide feedback.

Thanks Dan for your very informative video, I just received my new Raddy RF919 today because I use my cellphone’s data plan with a 50 gigabyte limit. I managed to run it out between all the required updates for IOS, Android, Linux, Apple and Windows uses about 1/3 the limit and I streamed a radio station for about a day and and used the rest of it, so internet radio has lost its appeal for me.
The new Raddy does have a kickstand and also High/Low pass filters plus Att/LNA amps. I only have used this for a hour with a steep learning curve, but so far I’m happy with my choice.
    73! Have a great day!

I look forward to testing the 919 -- from first appearances it seems to have decent SSB

Dan It is not shutdown it has almost 1,000 members and that group was created first without the designer of the Radio by me. He became a member later and for some reason he was very rude and disrespectful to Administrators and he was banned from the group. Now he created another group. But my group was the first and Original Group created for this radio. This radio has a lot of issues with software package download package that on many people in the USA can not do the upgrade and you know that. And people with luck who has upgraded the radio say it has a lot of problems. So don't buy that piece of radio, it is not worth it

Update, I am returning my LC90
to Amazon for a refund. Sorry, but
    the problems I encountered, as
shown by you and Gilles too, were
    disappointing 😞
I do have a smaller Ocean internet
    receiver for now.
Yes, it sounds good, the construction seems good, and
    package is nice. 😊

Dan, I obtained the LC90 from Amazon a few days ago. It is an interesting receiver, and mine is updated with SSB choices. I could not connect to my wifi router at home. They said it could be my routers security such as WPA2 or WPA3? It did connect through tethering to the Hot Spot on my Samsung Smartphone, though not my first choice. It also has some birdies on certain frequencies. FM reception here is good, shortwave is ok, but MW is poor, as MW generally is here to external noisy environment in my place. I have other receivers as you mentioned. Thanks for your review and update. 73 Ray W2CH 😊

It does not connect with some security levels -- this was discussed in the original LC90 Facebook group and commented on by the designer who inexplicably was blocked, along with myself, by the group owner. Go to the new LC90 Facebook group established by the Choyong designer and ask the question there

@dxace1 Thanks 😊 As I stated below, I am returning my LC90, based
on my experiences and your comments,
      in addition to Gille's reviews.
I have many receivers, and do not need
these problems in a new receiver.

Thank you for the review. Do you know which internet aggregator this uses? Randy-Illinois

Hello, do the Internet radio channels provide RDS-like information? I don't think that i've seen that this radio has FM-RDS/RBDS either, right? I am strongly considering placing an order for the LC90. If the siound quality is better than my Macbook then I'm wanting this even more.
    Thank you!

Interesting. I tuned to 9275 and didn't hear a birdie so how do you know the birdie is coming from something inside the radio?

Between you and Giles I am not hearing enough “good” points at all to fork over $$ to buy this radio. Way too many negatives. Maybe in a year or 2 this radio will have been brought up to a more quality level. Sorry Choyong.

I'm gonna give it a shot, myself. Dan has a lot of credibility and is in touch with manufacturers and distributors and all, but Giles seems to slam other RUclipsrs who don't share his opinions, and that is one major red-flag, IMO.
Anyway, I figure it's returnable, so what the heck. I do know that in the US, there is so little you can hear on SW, much less actually listen to, that I'll give the "smart radio" thing a shot. Plus, some claim the use of an external antenna reduces or eliminates a good deal of the issues on OTA reception. So, we'll see...
