This match is an instant classic. It was an absolute thriller, kept me glued to the screen for the whole hour these two amazing players battled. Boll was on point, he had an absolutely amazing tournament. Think about how many top players he has beaten recently.
Indeed! He lied, he stole, he cheated! Timo learnt it hard from Pompeo!
Adam is a great commentator...his commentary is absolutely amazing.
I would like to hear more about the strength and weakness of each player and what strategy they need to use or is using against the opponent
Awesome match! Really the highest level Timo has shown...at the age of 43 He is still able to play at that international worldclass level! Much respect to both opponents 🎉
The craziest thing I realised after analysing Timo's technique so that I could learn from it, is that if you look at his old videos timo changed his technique around the time he changed to dignics 09c.
He used to have a short swing and not much weight transfer as this was sufficient for tenergy but he changed to Chinese technique when he swapped to 09c.
Timo has challenged and even beaten top Chinese players such as lin shidong using their technique that he only started to learn in his late 30s / early 40s.
Liang Junglun showed his respect to Timo after the match ❤

This match should guarantee Boll the singles spot at Olympics. He is by far the best player from Germany this year and he was the european player most able to play the chinese by far. Extraordinary what he showed here.

of all the chinese players , LJK seems the mentally most robust player. Awesome how he handled the pressure here and before that round. Hats off!

Absolut hochklassiges Spiel: Was Timo hier gezeigt hat, in Singapur, ist überragend. Liang Jingkun hat mit seiner Geste am Ende und im Interview danach alles gesagt, was es zu sagen gibt.
After watching the match with LYJ, I still rank this to be most outstanding performance by both players.
39:09 this is my personal favorite point. So much aggression by Liang Jingkun.
I knew which point it was before looking at it. That point was impressive by both parties even though it was so short. Holy moly. I loved this match so much.

What a classic this will be. With Timo Boll you never say "last dance" but 2024 is feeling like it. And he's incredible. Props to LJK, I really like him too. And Wang Hao is looking like the biggest hater of 2024, I LOVE IT

Seems Timo ran a bit out of gas in the end. Still if he doesn't get injured, Germany should definitely call him up for the Olympics. In this form he seems to be the strongest player outside of China.
Yep, him, Yun-Ju and Harimoto seem to be the three most capable of being competitive. I thought some other Europeans might rise up 2024 but Felix Lebrun isnt quite there yet, Jorgic stopped developing and Truls imo will never be competitive vs the chinese as he is not working on his weaknesses. Ovtcharov is on a downword trajectory and has lost a lot of his speed and ballhandling. If they dont select Boll it would be a huge mistake. Imo Boll and Qiu will be selected for singles. Maybe Ovtcharov/Franziska for double to soften the blow.
@@listrahtes Well, Patrick is quite good too. He outplayed Ma Long, defeated Dima and actually played very well. With Timo, in his condition, we can never say what shape he will be in specific tournaments. He lacks stability, because of age. And taking him to Olympics would be risky. Maybe he will be able to show great performance (and will have enough energy for such a long tournament), maybe not. Franz is not showing magic like Timo does, but he is pretty much more stable and predictable in terms of how good he will be during the tournament
@@hawnt2r Agree but imo you can't leave the only player at home consistently able to defeat Top10 players. Regarding that Timo is consistent this year and him vs Jingkun showed that outside of WCQ he can compete with anyone. I love Franziskas playstyle but he very rarely keeps form through a tournament. If Timo is fit at Olympics he imo is a much higher chance of getting deeper into the tournament. But yes best would be Franz,Boll and Qiu. I do think it will be Franz/ Ovtcharov in doubles as they are a great team together and that way all 4 top players out of Germany are at the Olympics.

@@chrisclub3185 No, he does not destroy Liang. Do you even know Liang, a three-time Bronze medalist in World Championships? Liang is underrated because of the likes of Ma Long, Wang Chuqin and Fan Zhendong. Otherwise, Liang is a force to reckon with.

слишком много шансов давала судьба в этом матче тимму Боллу, но он ни единым не воспользовался а только, что умудрялся совершать все больше и больше глупых ошибок в ввиде неприёма подач и помахиваний по мячу в самое неподходящее для счета время, больше я за него не стану болеть, одно разочарование, одно расстройство...

True. It's obvious Chinese now all get coached for it as umpires rarely punish and it's a tremendous advantage. Near all serves by Chinese players are now illegal.

@@gongtaumaster-h9t When did he cheat? He is known to be maybe the most fair player ever . Time and time again giving points to opponents if he thought it was not according to rules. His serve is according to the rules quite opposite of Shidong,Chuqin, Jingkun...etc. Why is there zero outrage by you about the obvious illegal serves by these players?

@@listrahtes I'm doing a reflection of German gene. R fans like think it's OK for Lin to use the same serve to win Fan but it's NOT OK when it's used against Boll. Yet ironically Boll despicably used them against Liang and R fans find it OK too. Hypocrites.
