The Best Drummer In the world
He has such a deft touch on the drums each stroke he plays is just right. Brian Bennet is a brillaint drummer and he is outstanding live.
Brilliant piece of drumming the best in the world of my opinion
This solo by Brian is interesting. The build up with dowellsticks to normal drumsticks firstly, but there are so much more to it than just a great solo. His touch, excecution, idears and figures are perfect in all ways, with great tuning of the drums, lots of collors, melodic motives and storytelling with masterfull techniqe, phraising, time and command of the instrument. Hats of !! How many drummers out there realy master that, i mean realy master that ? Many are too busy, flashy, with sloppy excecuted figures, and sound and not saying anything musically on the drums, and thats what it is all about. The music first. A true legend and Worldclass musician and drummer. 🙏❤️
Brian Bennett is the best drummer in the world.there is no other who plays or creates the soud out of the drums like he can.
Keyboards - then drums - then bass - then rhythm - finally lead guitar on starting. Superb.
Got to be one of the best drum solos Brian has ever done. Never fails to have the hair on the back of my head stand up. Superlative drumming.

Brian,s solo is brill, I've been searchiing for it for a long time, thx for posting, my own brother, (also Brian), has covered this solo with some big bands, and at the end he goes from that nice thumping last bit right into Apache, you drummers out ther plz do this, you'll rock your audiences, well done guys

Here all those so called great rock drummers can learn how it should be done. this guy is the most tasteful and classy rock drummer of all time. so clean and technically perfect , with great idears. I agree that he never recieved the praise and recognition he deserved on the Drums. Far away one of the most elegant Drummers of all time. Worldclass thats what this clip is. sit back and enjoy the Master at work.

@paulwall1981 hi there, i was blown away when i met him.he was such a nice and friendly and down to earth man.as touring goes he did tour for the reunion concerts 2009/10 with the shads and sir cliff but that is all i know at the moment.i do not know what he and the boys are doing later on this year but i will let you know.take care and all the best to you.
Buddy Rich aside, Brian virtually invented the drum solo after he took over from Tony Meehan.
'Little B', 'Big B' and 'Honourable Puff Puff' being the major ones. Well, it gave the other lads an opportunity for a tea-break !
He is also a renowned music arranger. The Shadows all did other work when they were not on stage together. They put professionalism into Pop.

@crisp2882. WOW. Thanks for getting in touch with me dude. I live about half an hour away from where this gig was filmed. I been to the Empire many times and think it is a really nice setting for a band as cool as the Shadows to play in. Would you not agree? Keep in touch friend.

Brian is one of my main Influences in drumming the other from the say era is Bobby Elliott of The Hollies, forget your Ringo & Moon, Brian & Bobby were and still the best drummers out the 60s by far

I love that drum solo... Mr. Bennett at his very best, he has been a great inspiration on me as a drummer. However, his name is BRIAN Bennett, not Tony. Tony Bennett is a singer!

I think he is using a Pearl kit... Zildjian cymbals and a lovely timpani!!!! I'd give a more in depth description but I don't have the info at hand unfortunately! Phil Jarvis would be able to help....

Brian bennett is awesome! Check out some of my other favourite drummers Tomas Haake and Jimmy Chamberlain they are great too!

Brian Bennett replaced Tony Meehan another amazing drummer. In the greats you can also add Gene Kruper, Sandy Nelson and Ginger Baker also awesome drummers.

what fab musos , i have most of their recordings, i try to play their most popular tunes , i can manage APACHE , some of FBI , some of frightened city ..don't laugh ...you try it, why they ever let that cliff ?? get into the act ,mistake.. TONY
Why in The Shadows is not Americans? They would get Epilepsy from such small strings.

Brian Bennett the best drummer in the world and such a nice person to meet. On the only occassion I've had the pleasure of the Shadows, he made me feel comfortable and appreciated.
