Yea the background design in the city was like a 2003 game and the graphics look like they’re from 2013-2014, the music also seems outdated 2002 to 2006 type of music
He had a harder time getting his cat to not eat the wires than fighting the in-game enemies, there was even boss music for it each time (i know it was the game/pause screen)

In New York she had a criminal record, no place to live, and people trying to kill her but in this new world she can use magic, which is cool, and isn't affected by the break which means she can just go off in a random direction and live off the land and if she doesn't want to go through all that work she can just keep walking until she finds the next civilization, it's not like only one people group can exists on a planet.

This game tries to be a 'Life is Strange'-style story game mixed with a 'Control'-style combat game, but misses the mark on both fronts and comes out inferior to both of them. Honestly, it could have been better had it leaned much more heavily into one or the other, but instead it's stuck in this limbo of mediocrity.

Already off bat she's wearing normal street clothes into a court proceeding. This would never happen if she in handcuffs and was arrested prior. She should be in a jumpsuit or at the very least not have her puffer coat on and hat. Any judge in America would consider that disrespectful and if she spent time in jail there is ZERO chance the police would have let in her in a cell wearing a jacket and hat or any clothing that has a string like a hoodie or sweatpants. It would be a safety hazard for both the officers and the person inside as they could harm themselves or others
She wouldn't be in a "jumpsuit" unless she was in prison.

Do these writers think people really need to write things down like "escape plan! Get money! Handle shit with dude one last time! Find cat home! Ticket out of town! ESCAPEEEE!" like, yikes so elaborate I couldn't have possibly remembered the details. The first like 5 minutes and I couldn't get into the character. To be honest when I heard everyone say it was bad I was like "there is no way it could be that bad could it?" And oh boy...

My genuine guess is that it looks generic and has a poor use of shaders and lighting. It gives it that same dull muddy image that we associate with older lower resolution games that were trying to be photo realistic.

This story was so opaque Charlie literally called its ma8n beats out before the 2nd hour of gameplay... All the way fown to the correct guess of parents. Not like it took Sherlock though. The story was very easy to see from the start.
gotta love how there was already a name of the "Break," before Frey got there, that was widely referred to by the people of the world, but suddenly after Frey refuses to let Auden, the person educated of the things going on in their world, tell her what the name of the stuff is, she calls it "The Break," and suddenly everyone in the world knows exactly what it is and what she's referring to anbd themselves start referring to it as such... They truly didn't understand ANYTHING about worldbuilding before trying to write this "Story," and just hoped to capitalize on black saviour complex and powerful woman complex, not realizing that market isn't the tsunami the twitterphiles make it seem like.

It's actually just so that character growth is more noticeable.
Bakugo was incredibly unlikeable at first, but has gradually grown on people as he's grown and interacted with other characters.

True, but he isn't typically this disinterested in the game he's playing. Most people watching are already his fans, so they don't mind a stream where he's a little lower-energy. Plus, it's fun to see him rip on how bad the game is every so often

This game plays like control but way better and way better story, may have to try it out when I get a 5, tried control but couldn't get the hang of the controls and what to do, kinda ironic for a game being called "control"😅
I don't think that people would dislike the game nearly as much as it cost less. I'm 40 hours in and I really like this game because it has a good open world. Also as a black guy I appreciate the fact that the dialogue reflects the fact that not everybody just gracefully handles weird stuff happening all of a sudden. If I just got pulled out of my life to a mystery world and attacked by a dragon I would not be handling that well 😭😭

Dialogue wasn’t that bad fr, nothing award winning after playing games like ragnorak but I liked it 🤷🏽♂️ I liked frey and how her character changed, a lil cliche and the open world, though it was supposed be a savaged land, was very empty with repetitive assets, but overall could’ve been worse and had fun with the game
@WheresTyler? that's good that you had fun with it. Sure, not every game is going to be like gowr I understand and agree with that. But the games are priced the same. Me personally, I expected more for that price, and was disappointed. The voice acting was pretty good, but the writing just wasn't there. I respect your opinion though.
