I could make these but I'd have to hand sew. I know how it just takes forever. I don't have a sewing machine sadly
Expiredlove AJ from what I have seen, more than half of these professional fursuit makers do not even have a sewing machine. And even if they do, sometimes they just prefer to hand sew. Hand sewing is really relaxing, just sit down, put on a movie on Netflix, and sew. Yes, it takes a while, but art cannot be rushed.
I make my own suits & clothes and don't own a machine. I'm so used to handsewing for almost 20yrs. that I often forget machines exist lol.
Hoodied Idiot machine sewing paws can be quick and kind of easy, and the stitching can be strong and consistent, but this maker is incredibly skilled on the machine and is incredibly precise, when I made my first sewing machine paws they were much much worse than my hand sewn ones, and actually took me the same time when you factor in frustration time 😂 but yes if you are consistent in stitching then it’s actually more efficient than sewing machines!
hand sewing does take time, but it is a stress reliever to me, i feel more relaxed hand sewing than i do with a machine

Glitch Master i gave my siater it. I tried out the puffy paws instead and they turned out perfect. I now have a full partial suit. Most of it came from mugiwaras tutorials.
For Zerri, don't feel bad :) I did my first head five months ago and it looked so cringy it would have made a five year old cry.I'm on my second one now. You can do this!! ^^ It is normal to try something for the first time and not have it come out looking the way you imagined. Keep at it. Best of luck on your paws ^^

Not bad at all! Love the two tone colours! :) Mine is orange and sand! ^^ My first one was entirely sand and the eyes were green. Three heads! That's pretty dang impressive. :)

The Art Ocelot it's actually not that bad ^^ I made a pair (using a pair of gloves though) for my little brother and had to put them on a few times as I glued to keep the shape. They felt pretty natural, I was surprised. I could move my hand and grab things and such and it didn't feel as weird as I thought it would
It's quite comfortable, actually! I own a pair myself and it feels like your hands are surrounded by pillows! :D

I'm sure they aren't horribly uncomfortable, but I don't think I could handle it. I've got this weird thing about not being able to spread all my fingers and toes(autism thing) and get the feeling I'd wig out if wearing four finger paws for any period of time.

Omg I just saw the thumbnail and I immidietly thought of my own hand paws that look almost exactly like that, just with gray pads, smaller and more flat! And the toes are also attached, so my fingers can't move too well, but that'll probaly change when I'm re-making them. I am determined to make a partial of my fursona Lightshine, all on my own! With a little help from my mother too ^^ And I'll hand sew, no sewing machine.

I have a tip to people who are making these! Add seam allowance! I did do this once and they were so small! So add seam allowance!

This tutorial is working for me 😃👍🏾 I’mma fursuit maker in training and most of the time I have to put it on hold because of depressing things like unemployment or work and many more things. Oh wait no 😨 I messed up on the fur direction for the paws ,so to check my mistakes I went to my dog for help and look an feel his fur of where it was directed and I was shocked when I realized my big mistake and I don’t have any money to buy new furaox fur , so I can’t mess up with this again I learned a valuable lesson form my dog and the difference between the fake fur and no I didn’t do anything to him I only was checking a mistake I made with fake fur ,

I'm making my fursuit, is it alright if I handsew the paw pads on?
Yes but make sure it's tight!
This was the first part of my fursuit and it helped me a lot so this is my thank you!
Tip:
When drawing on the backing of the fur use a black marker. Ive heard many bad things happening if the thing ur using is not waterproof. Trust me, It will be much better when using a black one. Usually other ones are not waterproof but black ones are usually or most of the time waterproof.

You don't have to get finished gloves for puffy paws, you can make your own :) I have planned a tutorial about puffy paws where I show it :)

For anyone asking, yes ye can sew them by hand, but it would be a lot harder, and a lot slower of a process, but yes, it can be done by hand, the paw pads, the paws' back and front sides, everything.

whenever I make mine, I NEVER somehow am able to make the bottom part where you put your hand through wide enough. it really sucks.
I had the opposite in the start, I always made them too wide xD. But it really helps to have a pattern for it :)

When you sew it (or glue or whatever method you're using) try doing it in the shape of a circle, don't do it flat.
Sorry if that's hard to understand what I mean o.o
Like when you're (let's say sewing) it together, have it in the shape of a circle big enouh to put your hand through but not too big.

I made mine a bit to small, because the pads are a bit odd looking. But overall a great success, didn't follow the tutorial for the assignment but based it off the thumbnail (as I had too to prove independence)

Finally not puffy paw tutorial; those puffy paws are hard for a first tik me doing paws my sewing machine doesn’t like to sew multiple layers of things at all and it likes to make me screeetch at it when it jams up and creates a little ball of thread in the middle of sewing something *screeching intensifies at my sewing machine*

To make them puffy paws you can just sew the pads on but leave a small opening and the put stuffing inside of the pads

Always make sure the fur goes the right way when your cutting. Anytime I work with fur for anything I almost always make that mistake.

This is helpful, but one of the characters I made doesn't have paw pads because of the species type. I guess it's the same process, just without adding paw pads.
Hi! I have already done this and figured out it works pretty well but would you say that pushing back the fur and cutting it with strong scissors do pretty much the same thing that a pet shaver does?
Becuase i own nor do my parents own a pet shaver and i made a bob tail yesterday and learnt it works pretty well but im not sure how it will do with a larger space such as paws.
