Beautiful brother I also play 7 and I’m really loving jazz chords. I usually play heavier stuff)
Jazz Guitar Today Metal Guys use 7 String Guitars, but Guitars with 7 (or More) Strings are also ideal for Jazz cause you can get some pretty low Chord Voicings.

@@jazzguitartoday They now make 10 String Multi Scale Guitars going down to a Low G#. These extended range Guitars are so versatile. One of the cool things about extended range Guitars is that you can easily read band charts because alot of songs will be transposed to match the ranges of singers.

@@jazzguitartoday Well alright.
I could see 7 strings becoming the new standard at some point. They're used in so many genres these days and you can use them for anything you'd use a 6 string for but with more options tuning-wise.

I am interested in getting a seven to set up for the Russian semistrunka tuning. Are there any reasonably priced seven string guitars out there?
There are quite a few to choose from... enjoy the process! Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.
what gauge string are you using for the Drop A string? What's the guitar's scale length?
I’m using an 80 for the low A, and the Benedetto Bravo has a 25” scale. Thanks for listening!
Tks for the video. I want to start with 7 string but am unsure about whether go for standard tuning B or like you A. Was standard no option for you?
When I got my 7 string guitar I played around in standard for a bit, but the extra range really opened up for me when I dropped it to A. It's easier for walking basslines in a jazz context, and you can drop the root of all your A-string chord vocabulary down an octave to create more spacious voicings.
I play classical, with an A in the bass a lot of the time- like the last commenter suggested. But standard makes sense for a lot of the pieces I play, and occasionally I tune up to C. Its all about whatever youre playing.
Thanks for the video! I'd like to know if normal guitar amplifiers doesn't have problem dealing with the low string??
Have a nice day!

I’ve found that to be an “interesting” issue. Normal guitar amplifiers tend to only emulate frequencies anywhere below 70 Hz or so. For years, I used a Bose L1M2 but recently switched over to John Buscarino’s Chameleon preamp/powered speaker. For a bass junkie like me, that sub-70 range is essential!
Hi! What is the name of this song? Really well played, love the 7th string addition!
Not sure... Perhaps Taylor can tell us both! Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.

Many thanks for the clarification, just could not hear it well in the video, now enjoying the original by João Gilberto 👍, beautiful piece
Follow-up remark: due to this video, I bought myself a nice second hand Ibanez 7string western guitar… Thx for the inspiration!
@@MichielvanEttinger Nice! have fun!

That 7th lower string sounds like a disaster (stepping all over the bass) if you are playing in ensemble, BUT, if playing solo, I can see it as being necessary.
I use a 12 string (6 extra strings) and string 7 I use for an extra treble string.
If I played a 7 string Jazz guitar, I would drop down a step and add another treble strings for more haunted resonance.
