      Once can be taken, the other can’t. If you put safeguards in both, again, one can be taken, the other can’t. Your own money, once it’s in the bank, it’s also intangible. The numbers on your screen afterwards aren’t your money. Want proof? Deposit 20k, then go to the same bank and ask for it three days later. They won’t give it to you, you’ll need permission to take it. As intangible as BTC, you just don’t need permission for the latter. It also doesn’t lose value over time, it only gains.

    I agree this is the use case of BTC: Simply an alternative to bonds/cash. Stocks and real estate should still be the core focus of an investment portfolio.

      @@Srangtamer it’s a bit different when there’s a finite amount of bitcoin and the real wealth isn’t in the value of bitcoin but the amount of bitcoin you own.
      If you were around pre 2014 bitcoin times you would know this. The days of bitcoin were ruined when it became a investment vehicle. The OGs use it to store wealth and don’t care about the value because the amount is worth billions more than the paper currency people are speculating on.

      @@dnkys but there is no value in something if you cannot transfer that thing for currency (and the currency must be widely used or have a use to hold value). A piece of gold is only worth something to someone that can use that gold. Just because something is scarce does not mean it is intrinsically valuable.

    I’m Polish lived in US for over 30 years and don’t have any plans to visit NY , never been there and of my experience living in Sweden as a young adult and visiting many European countries and cities NY is very dirty and unsafe

      Borrow against bitcoin. Buy a property for the cash, rent it out. Half of profit towards the loan and the other half for yourself. That way you don't pay capital gain tax on bitcoin, you keep your bitcoin and you have a property. You also have a debt but it generates cash flow and it never cost you selling ant of your welth/bitcoin
