- This is a Rolls Royce silver spirit that i have put a Nissan SD 3.3 Turbo Diesel 6 cylinder engine into it. i have used the original auto gearbox. I hope to have it on the road in the next few months.
What a great idea, making luxury motoring affordable. I would love a diesel Rolls Royce, I'd use it every day.
Good work. I put a Nissan QD32, turbo intercooled in my '64 Rover P5 coupe. 4 spd o/d Nissan auto. Pulls like a train.
Sounds lovely :)
MEATY as fuck
Sound like Heavy Metal i think
But thats good in this car the enervating sound from the clock will not be a problem anymore thats one good thing normal R-R will be jealous about
Nicely done sir, for me this RR sounds more glorious
Ah good. A proper (Diesel) engine.
Still on the lookout myself for the right car to convert Eck. Got the engine in stock along with the correct torque converter and auto box governor.
I converted a Commer PB motor home into a Diesel,I ripped out that pathetic 1725cc low compression Petrol engine and fitted a Perkins 4-108 diesel with a converted Humber Scepter overdrive gearbox. That vehicle went like a dream compared to the lethargic engine I removed and with the overdrive gearbox did over 50 mpg and managed over 75mph top speed with a gale behind it. I did thousands of miles in the PB and apart from oil changes every 4000 miles I never had any issues whatsoever with it,would trounce the Volkswagen camper van over the hills of North Wales any day of the week.
IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A SWAP
That sounds fucking gorgeous!!
Is it the nissan patrol engine the one which use 24 volts ?
Great idea a rolls which sounds like a truck lovely
When you say you've used the original auto box, I take it you mean you've used the Rolls Royce original box?
Proper engine, none of this this electronic crap which has ruined Diesel engine reliability and longevity.
It would be better if this Rolls Royce swap with Mercedes OM606
well done, man. id like to see it complete and mpg comparison
was it difficult to do?
Jikwan ji
It must struggle a bit in a 2 1/2 tonne car
as opposed to a 2.5 tonne truck its built for?
@@MiG21aholic Suppose not but the standard Rolls Royce well GM THD400 gearing is way too short.
@@jaggass diesels always seem to come with short gearing in stock applications
@@MiG21aholic I'd get rid of the GM THD400 and go for a slightly more modern gearbox with lock up for better MPG.
It is like watt I have told them at the factory these cars are to cheap and to manny of them
Lots of work and no brakes i am guessing
Citroen might have a brake pump possible to put on belt drift?
It was the wrong car Silver Cloud is a better choice as you are using the old gearbox
it will not be this endless brake problem I guess you have
*round of applause*
=> that's the way it was meant to be in the first place
Buy a Rolls-Royce and replace the magnificent 6.7L engine with a diesel engine? There is a say at Rolls-Royce... If you need to ask the price, is that you do not have the means. Sadly, it seems. To be the case
@Mott theHopple
I have seen many negros having R-R so forget that jealous talk
It is a nice car that is al
Sadly what seems to be the case and what makes you think he doesn't have the means. The owner has steam engines, faiground organs and tractors restored and built to very high standards. He's a very talented and capable engineer and can well afford a standard Rolls Royce but what is the point of being standard and conforming. PS you may want to check your grammar and punctuation.
@@simov8chevy I am not here for my grammar. I have various Mercedes, Rolls-Royce and Range Rover... And what? I have my Rolls-Royce since 1997 and it is very smooth and silent. Now really to my point of view, this is a disgrace. Why not installing a diesel engine on a Harley Davidson? 😂
There should be a law against this. Awfull, shame on you'
There should be a law against purists being so negative about other peoples pride and joy.
Respect the engineering gone into this conversion.
+Nathan Dance nevertheless, it's a bloody shame...
It will never be legal to drive on the street it is some brake problem
with i think he is able to fix but the road safety test never if not sold in Africa
Yes of corce but this was not so clever due to the fact that he will newe use it
I think maybe hi is building a drift car or some thing
Good mechanic yes but wrong car
No it was over production to a low price was R-R policy
not so in the early days it started in the late sixties
The Beatles started this by painting John Lennon´s R - R Phantom
That was the wery first destroyed R-R on the streets that coursed the Foundation stone of R -R to crack Rolls - Royce was not a fine car any more
The R-R owners of today cal each other for Bro and they do have gold chains around the neck
BMW makes a fantastic R-R as far from Sir Royce idea as it is possible
His cars was everlasting not the strongest or fastest ore most expensive but they were the best built
