My grandmother in Tennessee made squirrel and dumplings a little differently. If it was a grey squirrel she would fry it but all fox squirrels were cooked in the pressure cooker until the meat would fall off the bone and she would put chicken stock and bacon grease in a pot to cook her dumplings in. Such great memories. Also cavenders greek seasonings has been a go to for me since the mid 80’s. Great video as always

I just ain't got the heart to take Fox Squirrels any more.
Lord knows l took enough of em vack in my day.
But their numbers are probably 1000/1 Grey/Fox in my area.
And they're just so goofy to watch, l ain't got the heart to stick it to em no more.
    But that's just me...
    Happy hunting

That's a good description! In my public land in NE GA, I'd put the number closer to 10:1 though. In GA, the limit on Foxes is one per day on public land. A few weeks ago I got a fox early then the next one I saw was another fox so I just sat and watched him, thinking about how many easy rifle shots I could've had as they just kind of lollygag around, whereas grays often force you to make quik, accurate shots. Not so much with a shotgun, though.

Hey 350. Please note that my post is purely curiousty and me trying to learn about other people-nothing more. Please ignore if you're offended by me asking. I don't watch very many big game videos but have noticed tons of squirrel hunting videos by Hmong creators. Far more than any produced by immigrants from other immigrant cultures combined. IYO, is this disparity from the Hmong being traditional hunters, or is squirrel a traditional food source? I'd love to try that recipe, but don't think you'll ever get me to burn the skin off! Thanks!
