AntiZensur dude, I don’t think you understand how it spreads. When we cough, the mask keeps the droplets from our breathe from escaping. Even though the virus itself is small enough to get through the mask, it can’t travel on its own, and is stopped along with the droplets since it is living within them. This is how a mask works. If everyone wears a mask, everyone will be protecting those around them, and be protected from those who have one.
As human beings, we are smart enough to know when we are about to cough, and so we do things like put our hands and arm around our face. This model suggests that human beings are robots and do not ever do this, im willing to bet my big asss arm blocks more than these masks can. Go ahead and test it, put your arm around that spray bottle and see if that spray goes anywhere.

@AntiZensur I thought the exact same . Our lungs do not exhale at 75 psi when we breathe ! Ether cans are pressurized to 75 psi and spray the fluid through a 1/64th tip nozzle . I could think of atleast a dozen other ways to demonstrate the test with probably 95% more accuracy . More people will become ill from mold and mildew in reused masks than prevent COVID19 LOL

that's all he was doing the entire time. This is a video for Cajun TikToks. That surgical mask doesn't achieve any more than keeping your mouth shut. SARs COV 2 is airborne and remains viable after droplets have fully evaporated for up to 3 hours, and has even been found on particles of air pollution. The only masks that work are N95s (which are in short supply) or full blown respirators with a .5 micron filter. And even these have severe drawbacks and limitations. A respirator valve will expel virus so anyone carrying the virus will just spray it everywhere. And the N95 has to be properly fitted to a clean shaven face, and will inhibit breathing. Masks are only effective in specific circumstances and only if A) you are using the right mask and B) you are following all other precautions possible. DIY masks, that surgical mask he is using, and all other masks that aren't certified medical PPE of the correct micron filter are 100% useless at stopping the spread of SARs COV 2 under the circumstances people are being told to use them. They offer a small measure of protection from close contact IF AND ONLY IF that close contact involves coughing, sneezing, or heavy mouth breathing like singing or talking loudly. But even in these circumstances, SARs COV 2 aerosols are still being expelled, and will hang in the air as well as travel for up to 26 feet.
The reason masks are useless isn't because they don't work, it's because the supporting circumstances that allow them to work don't exist in the daily lives of normal people. There are studies and actual evidence that show how a single person sitting at a table inside a restaurant will spread aerosolized SARs COV 2 to the ENTIRE restaurant no matter how far apart they sit and regardless of wearing anything short of N95 or better PPE.
Unfortunately, as painful as it is to accept, the only real option we have to stop this virus is to stay home. Even if everyone is wearing a masks and eye protection, all public spaces are a severe infection vector because almost no one is wearing the right mask, and none of these companies are spending money to install high capacity ventilation systems or air purification systems. We should not even be going to the grocery store.
If people keep pushing this false information about masks preventing COVID infections, hundreds of thousands more people will die. 99.99% of the masks being worn by the general public have a normalized effect of 0% on SARs COV 2 transmission. We are being sold a standard flu protocol when we should have been on airborne protocol from day 1. People have, are going to continue to die directly because of it.
@@ZennExile how did you figure that one out? SARS Cov 2 is a virus, which is small enough to fit through a mask; but cannot travel without moisture. Unlike other viruses which work on large cough and sneeze droplets; this one is carried via aerosol (breath condensate, you know the stuff that fogs up glass when you breathe on it). It cannot travel without moisture because it is held together by water-soluble lipids. That is why soap and alcohol work to kill it, and UV light works on surfaces to kill it - it dissolves the lipids and the virus falls apart. Once the virus is in the air, in its little moisture particle; then its longevity is three days until it dries out, so we have to stop the moisture in the breath (condensate) from getting into the air in the first place. That's where the mask comes in. The mask condenses the breath inside the mask into larger droplets, trapping the virus inside and stopping it from travelling any further. N95 masks stop virus in the air from being breathed in to the nose and mouth and are for use in scenarios where the virus is already abundant in the air; from patients who are not wearing masks and are shedding virus in blood and other bodily fluids and medical staff have to work in close proximity to that. It's the same principle as why surgeons wear cloth masks and not N95 in the operating theatre; to trap viruses and bacteria in their breath condensate from getting in to the patient's body cavity. Think about it- they work at close proximity; like four feet away from a body and the surgical mask works. However, gases, such as oxygen and carbon dioxide do not need moisture to travel, and their molecules are even smaller than a virus, so pass through the mask easily. The N95 will not inhibit breathing, as it is fitted with a valve filter which does not let virus molecules through, but allows gases to pass. This test is a bit of fun, but just demonstrates how effective a cloth mask is at stopping aerosol.

The problem with this 'experiment' is that the size of the droplets from the can are much bigger than what you breath out in droplets. The pore size of the mask can be around 80 microns while the virus is 1 micron. That is why a long time ago, medical experts said the store bought masks and cloth masks are not effective. Even on the boxes of the surgical masks, it says it is not effective. However, watching the head burn was very entertaining.
The virus, at a micron, is attached to a bigger particle, aqueous probably that will get filtered out or adsorbed onto the surfaces in the mask. Great demo!

Yes.. but no. Make a wild guess how viruses transmit? Droplets. Sure tiny ones, but thousands of times the size of the actual singular virus. You know when its super cold out and you can see your breathe? Thats water vapor, water droplets, that would have germs and viruses in it. When you talk particles even larger then that fine vapor from just breathing, come shooting out, of course when you sneeze its way larger and actually visible, this test showed not even from 3 inches was it enough for that powerful spread to shoot any particles into the flame. Get educated.

Need to address the issue of what the effects of the mask are on the wearer as an isolated variable.
Helps prevent you from getting and spreading covid. Only issues would be due to poor hygiene and wearing the same mask without ever washing it.

Except that this video isnt factual at all. Virion sized particles pass right through those masks. We have a decade+ of research to back this, however, the American government would rather blame citizens for the spread instead of giving us factual information and taking iniative to slow the spread. When you sneeze or breath, small droplets of mucus / saliva become aerosolized into tiny little particles that not only get ejected into the air around you, but can stay aloft for a few hours before then finally settle on surfaces. The mask not only catches some of the particles, it forces those aerosol droplets to go through the mask which causes most of them to condense into larger droplets which are much heavier and drop out of the air much faster, limiting not only the distance that they travel but also how long they stay aloft where they can come into contact with someone else's mucus membranes (mouth, nose, eyes, etc). So masks do most certainly limit the spread, but they won't completely prevent someone from sharing their virus, nor will it completely prevent someone from catching it. That said, even of masks only resulted a 50% reduction in the reproduction rate (Rt) it would cut the amount of new cases by a huge amount. Less people catching it means less people walking around carrying it means less people catching it, rinse and repeat.

The Certified "T shirt" material masks have often filters as well, often inside the fabrics, even the ones that don't, might be not as efficient as this one, but I believe they are efficient enough, unless people are getting really close to other people on purpose, I think they are efficient.
That being said, yea, it would be an interesting experiment.
either of those is probably "more" effective than a surgical mask. remember the surgical mask was not designed to be huge efficient just to stop the doctor from breathing/spitting/coughing into on patients.
a t-shirt mask is probably even more effective. of course still need to follow protocol. that third 3 inch squirt got through because the mask became saturated. when it gets "wet" it passes more easily. this is why you should either change masks often (2 hours or when moist whichever comes first) or don't wear it all the time. when you step outside take it off. no reason to have it on. its very very very hard to transmit covic19 when outside. its when you are really really close or inside that its an issue.
Most of us won't need to wear one but 30 or so minutes a day. goto the grocery store. mask on. get back to your car mask off. easy peazy :-)

They are to stop large droplet spread. I don't understand how so many people can say they can't breathe with the mask on, but think the mask doesn't stop anything. You literally just saw how much liquid droplets were stopped by the mask.
It's more like having a bedsheet stretched out and spraying it with a garden hose, yes a bit still gets through, but the physical momentum of the water that gets through is vastly reduced and most of it is flat out blocked.
And because surface tension traps anything smaller than the droplet, the virus gets trapped in the moisture that accumulates in the inside of the mask.
