    Thanks! I had a Yorkie for almost 13 years. We were inseparable and It took me a year to be ready for another. I adopted an 18-month-old Biewer this week. She is adorable but needs plenty of socialization and some obedience training... an adult terrier could be a challenge to train, but she is so very sweet and it was love at first sight for me... she is still in her decompression stage but doing well.

    I also own a Biewer but me and my groomer agreed for a short cut because he feels way better without the long, lovely hair 😊
    I love him, but please don't forget even a small dog is still a dog and has its needs (it's not a toy and needs (long) walks etc =))

    I'm getting a biewer in two weeks and the breeder has only had biewers for two years. She says that she uses a soft slicker brush and also a comb to brush her biewers. I've read that a pin brush with large spaces between the pins is better to use on a biewer/yorkie coat? Also I asked her if you should start combing/brushing the coat at the ends and then work your way up to the roots but she said "No, you should start at the roots with the slicker brush". I myself have got long hair that gets tangled VERY easily and I would NEVER use even a detangling brush from my roots first when combing my tangled hair. Also I can only use brushes with lots of space between the pins to be able to untangle my own hair. Any thoughts? Thanking you in advance :) Kind regards, Caroline from Sweden

      A pin brush and a med/fine comb is best. A soft slicker can be used around the feet and sometimes the mustache.

    Thank you for this informative video.
    Did you give him a top knot like a yorkie or just a bow?

    It is pronounced Bue-er not be-va

    • @grandestyledoggrooming
      @grandestyledoggrooming  2 года назад +3

      It depends on if you pronounce it the German way, which is where they are from, or it you listen to Googles English version. Watch this pronunciation video. ruclips.net/video/HnuSAlke5TY/видео.html

      @@grandestyledoggrooming no i didnt know. But as stressed as did dog is, it should have had something to make him calm. Not like totally drugged as in surhgery, but with this ampunt of stress it will leave mental scars.
      I would never go through with the grooming, when the dog is exhausted Even before beginning.
