Bill Hader is that kind of person you would like to have in your inner circle. He is real, relatable and down to earth like he's not selling a hollywood façade and when you have anxiety problems seeing a succesfull example really helps. And his acting is captivating. McAvoy and Chastain are big names yeah but Hader is the main thing in It 2 for sure.
he talks about all the famous ppl he's working with on "IT 2" but I mostly ever see interviews with him so clearly Bill Hader is the one audiences want.
I just watched the movie today, and I swear I mean this 100%, I think Hader might've given the best performance in the whole film (I'm not sure if what was at the core of his character, his "secret", if that's in the original book, I know it wasn't in the 1990 miniseries). Also there was so much talk about how much Hader looked like an older Finn Wolfhard, well I don't know how I missed this in any of the previous marketing, the guy that got to play the adult Stanley was the best child-to-adult lookalike. Holy moly it looked like they just cloned the kid in a lab and quickly advanced his aging lol
@@kevinw712 the it director and bill himself said the secret is richie being gay and eddie being his first love. it's not in the original book, it was never like canonised, maybe slighty alluded. but andy *the director* and bill had a talk with stephen king about it and stephen said he never thought of it that way specifically but he likes the idea and progression of it. also andy and it writers knew they'd go this route with richie since making the first movie. so it's a departure/modification from the book in this regard.
@@iva8111 yeah while my personal "dream team" pick originally for the adult casting of the Eddie character was for Adam Scott, I gotta admit the actor they wound up getting was both very strong in resemblance and talent (only thing I was previously aware of his career was him playing Ziggy in season 2 of "The Wire")
I love how he kept praising everyone else that he worked with, like he praised Mulaney for Stefon, Berg for Barry, and McAvoy and Chastain for IT Chapter 2, yet he's the one that people kept talking about in relation to these projects that he mentioned. I guess it's a testament to his character as a person and also a prove for the quality that he provides in each of his works.
@@randomuser5914 Strong recommend on checking out his podcast Happy Sad Confused. He does long form interviews with a lot of really cool actors/directors/etc.
Josh is one if the best interviewers. It's never robotic, he genuinely connects and makes the interviewee comfortable, and it always feels like just a conversation where the interviewer listens more than he talks.
I could listen to him speak for hours. Hearing him talk about his passion is fascinating, because he’s got this charisma that he doesn’t even notice himself. And personally I know how hard it is to deal with anxiety, and he’s done things I could never imagine myself doing without having panic attack and backing out. It gives me a little hope, and I really admire him.
Bill stumping for Mulaney and Kroll to host the oscars at the end was fantastic. I've been waiting for someone in the industry to acknowledge that they would be perfect, and of course it would be a close friend of theirs. Also the speed in his answer when he said "no" was hilarious.
God Josh can’t even keep up he’s cracking up so hard. Bill is so witty and absolutely hilarious. This is definitely my favorite interview with him so far, Josh did amazing
I love how respectful Josh was by not asking Bill to do any impressions! Most interviewers make people super uncomfortable when asking those sorts of things, but Bill seemed super relaxed! Keep up the good work, Josh!
very telling of Bill Hader's character that he references who created (or did a ton of the creative work) the character of Stefan, as opposed to just acting like "yeah it's all me i'm a fuckin' genius love me world"
I like how Joshua isnt like those journalist sharks trying to get dirt and ask inappropriate questions. The interviewees seem to be at ease answering questions. Great interview! Bill is amazing as always. ❤
Oh yeah! Mulany has a show with Nick Kroll, but it's just not the same. I'd recommend the 92Y panel, it's an hour and a half of them just talking, but it's just so funny! A well written and directed movie would just be amazing.
I would like to say that seeing Bill Hader talk about his anxiety problems with regards to performances and everything has really helped me as a performer person in a similar situation. Bill Hader's always been an icon to me, whether or not I was aware of it at the time (like loving all his sketches as a little kid, but never putting a name to a face, same with movies, yknow) and hearing him talk about this stuff and then follow down the same sort of career path that I always dreamed of doing, it's really inspiring and it's meant a lot to me. he's a rad dude that's all i gotta say and maybe one day I'll get to work with him and can tell him myself.

Omgg Bill likes Fleabag?? Actually when I watched Barry for the first time, it did remind me a bit of Fleabag but in its own beautifuly original way. Honestly two of my favorite series ever. Btw very good interviewer, the flow of the questions was very enjoyable
I appreciate how comfortable Bill is in his masculinity...he calls fassbender gorgeous, in other vids he's always hugging and telling his male friends he loves them, he plays many gay roles and certainly has no problem kissing other men on snl. But he was also married for forever and has 3 daughters. He's just genuine.
This guy sitting and talking to Bill is awesome. I am also kind of mad cuz he is living one of my biggest dreams, which is sitting and talking to Bill but he is a good interviewer...just jealous thats all. P.S. him and Tom Hiddleston are always great together!

That Tropic Thunder red carpet photo makes it look like either Bill is really tall or Hollywood actors in general are pretty short.
It's both. Tom Cruise is only 5' 8. He's super tiny.
Bill is 6'1
