Will this be streaming alongside What’s Going On Upstairs on Spotify and Apple Music?
Unfortunately not at this stage. I shall be sending a promotional copy of this (and WGOU; again!) to UMG to try and get this project & material some kind of backing and sponsorship (hopefully a record deal!), but until something of that nature occurs I just can't afford the licensing fees that I will incur if I release the VU songs on official music platforms - I even have to pay to have my original music on there, and so far I am a million miles from merely breaking even from that, let alone making a profit from the streaming royalties. I'm hoping this project will help attract some attention towards my work and enable me to make this my career - I'd love nothing more than to make music and video content full-time! 🤞🏻

I've remixed and remastered them again for a more consistent sound too - some of the tutorial video audio tracks came out a little muddy/bass-heavy or had other slight issues, so I've tightened them all up for maximum album release fidelity!

It’s so good to hear this….captures the spirit of the velvets but with modern production. Been a fan since I was handed a copy of the banana album on cassette back in 82 at the tender age of 14……and it blew my mind.
We never got that velvet underground MTV unplugged in the 90s maybe that would be an interesting project choosing and arranging what that would sound and look like. It would be fun to hear some songs you wouldn't expect too lol

Bravo Cam Forrester! It cleared a lot of questions that I had concerning those songs. But I still got two interrogations I'm sure you can resolve: How is made the constant rhythmic guitar sound on "Train around the bend"? Which voice is on "Sunday Morning"?: I can't recognize Lou Reed's. You made a splendid and very useful work!
The guitar effect on TRTB is some kind of tremelo/repeater, I've never looked into specifically which but if I find out I'll let you know. That's one of my favourite songs on Loaded.
Sunday Morning has Lou singing lead with Nico adding ethereal backing vocals at the end of the song.

Excellent job all around, and especially I Heard Her Call My Name, my favourite VU song and possibly one of the most significant rock'n'roll songs ever. It's so hard to do it in a way that makes sense, but your version is awesome. First your stellar Moe Tucker documentary, now this. You're giving people so much... I really hope you'll get as much in return 🤞🏻

i don't have words to describe how incredible, fantastic, sublime and any other adjective this is. you nailed every track, every little detail that those incredible songs have, even the dissonant chord on the end of i'm waiting for the man (could you please tell me what notes are being played in that part?). my favorite band of all time is the Velvet and this is just fantastic. The Velvets getting the love they deserve makes me very happy. cheers from a young musician influenced by lou reed's music. i wish you very succes and let's continue to bring the legacy and genius of this amazing and groundbreaking band.

The dissonant piano at the end is not really a chord, it's a chromatic palm-full of notes being bashed simultaneously from D#(5) and above.

What goes on a new recording ? otherwise I must have missed it, took me an age the learn the guitar rhythm. Great job as always, I live in hope of your version of There she goes again.
The majority of the songs were recorded at the same time, but mixing/mastering and producing tutorial/music videos for them has been done gradually since, track-by-track (hence the variation in my hair's length across the videos lol - all of the drum parts and most of the drumming film used, was recorded at my friend's studio last year, back when I still had a skinhead!).
I think I may have mentioned to you (or another subscriber) before; I'm not too happy with how my recording of TSGA came out (I revisited it after it was brought up before, and deduced that it's because of the drums; there is only a snare drum on the original track, so naturally that's all I recorded...but I can't seem to replicate the 'bounce' of the original track - it has something to do with the way the compressors used emphasised the bass guitar, and gave it a percussive effect, making it feel like there was a bass drum underneath, when in fact there wasn't). I may re-visit it again at some stage, but at the very least, it will certainly be included in the live show set list!

Thank you! The first track is a transcribed and condensed "best-bits" interpretation of their rehearsal that was filmed at Andy Warhol's factory in June 1966. The original film was called 'The Velvet Underground And Nico', but it has commonly become known as 'A Symphony Of Sound', hence the title of my cover version: ruclips.net/video/2YXhut_ITLw/видео.html

I recorded a whole bunch of songs, but only included the ones that came out the best on the album, and prioritised making tutorial videos for the ones that are more musically complex or unusual (in terms of tunings, arrangements etc.) to play, as my time is limited - so unfortunately the more straightforward ones have no videos...I have a new one cooking though and some other things in the works, so keep an eye on the channel for new releases over the next few months!
