    I will say, if you are in a solo project, this technique is excellent for producing some insanely clean stuff. I have used lots of these techniques myself using Ableton as well.
    However, I always highly encourage players and aspiring musicians to Practice and strive to perform the whole song in 1 take. Striving for excellence is something we need a lot more of, although this method is very handy if you are on a time crunch

      100% agree with you and it all comes down to the project and the sound you’re going for as well. Which is why I was saying I wouldn’t typically go that tight with things and “lets say we couldn’t re record guitars”
      But I definitely agree with you that we need to put more time in practicing as opposed to just playing and punching in note by note. Thanks for watching!

    I don't remember how I found out about your channel, but I'm glad I did, because it's a goldmine LOL. A lot of useful info for modern metal. THANK YOU

      Ehhh thanks Tyler. I love Ableton. Was thinking of making a video specifically about why I choose Ableton over any other DAW for metal production

    BTW, you would practice the song in one take for two reasons. One is to improve some separate parts of your technique and other is to train your skill of performing your song and speed and efficiency of learning songs.

    • @BrendonKPadjasek
      @BrendonKPadjasek  8 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely. When I do playthroughs I play the song all the way through and accurately. There are times where I’ve made a part in realistic so I’ll change it when I’m practicing for a playthrough, because I’ve gone too far haha.

    Tnx for reminding how hard it is to do properly. Sometimes I think I am just bad when I have recorded something.

    • @BrendonKPadjasek
      @BrendonKPadjasek  8 месяцев назад +1

      No problem! I don’t think I’m bad at guitar. I’m not phenomenal, but I make sure everything I write is playable. And I obviously want it to sound as good as possible, and this is the way to do so.
      My whole goal is to give everyone listening, the best listening experience and that’s it. I don’t care about how many takes or cuts it takes to do so

    The organic, non robotic way of editing reminds me of Structures Encounter EP.

      @@BrendonKPadjasek Get the fuck out, I go to sub and read the about me, and gee I wonder why it sounds so similar. Props on having a style that stands out 15 years later.
      Not gonna write a wall, but Life Through A Window was basically all I listened to in 2014 & I'm responsible for at least 2,000 plays of Requiem. Thanks for the instructional video, I'm grabbing a mirrorless here in a couple of weeks and looking to up my recording game.

      @@Wtsmyageagain hahaah that's insane. What are the chances eh. Thanks for checking out the channel and the kind words. Most people didn't quite appreciate LTAW when it came out so I'm stoked you enjoyed it.
      Which mirrorless are you looking at getting? I'm a camera nerd haha

      @@BrendonKPadjasek Initially was going for a T7, then convinced myself to get a T8i, then saw the R50, and finally settling on the R10. I wish it was a full frame but it's versatility with shooting stills + it's video capabilities seem perfect at the price point. The RF line of lens' leads a lot to be desired in terms of variety, but I'll grow into the camera.

    • @BrendonKPadjasek
      @BrendonKPadjasek  7 месяцев назад

      @Wtsmyageagain yeah the RF lenses are also quite expensive. What is your total budget for camera + lens combo?

    Such a helpful video man! As a Logic Pro user, the workflow is slightly different but the concept is the same pretty much.
    Any reason in particular why you choose Ableton over Logic, Pro Tools or Cubase?

    • @BrendonKPadjasek
      @BrendonKPadjasek  5 дней назад +1

      Oh yeah. I used logic for a couple months but couldn’t get over some of the workflow for certain aspects. That and when I was editing drums from None of the Above, out of nowhere the china track just turned into a sausage of noise that I couldn’t undo. It was like after I did one cut and moved it over. So strange. I found a few issues like that.
      I find Ableton to always be the quickest to use. The hot keys and workflow and being able to group, edit, reverse, pitch down, speed up, change the tempo of the song and the instruments warp fairly believably. I just couldn’t see any other DAW that’s this simple. I do use Pro Tools to mix though. If Ableton has more send and return layers I’d only use Ableton

      Ableton 11 does it. Just click on the track name on the right and go "show take lanes" and there the are.
