faster eggs, the eggs run away fast.
About to say
I'm sorry but the existence of a neat Tellnet server has nothing to do with windows 10
Or really windows at all
this one fact has been on windows easter egg videos for years. it will never go away for as long as these guys keep throwing up into each others mouths
Yeah exactly. You just connect to a remote telnet server
Cool Windows easter-egg: go to the website VLC, download and install the program, wait until Christmas, then play a video. It will play a video. 😉
(And it will put a Santa hat on the VLC traffic-cone.)
It even works in Linux.
Yes Ive always wanted to learn how to make faster eggs!
"Explorer" is the only process I know of that has "Restart" instead of "End task" available in Task Manager.
You can right click it to end task am I the only 1 that always find solutions on the moment on things
@@the_red_gamernope. You're not the only one.
5:09 is not an easter egg, it shwos up when you hold the power button of a windows 10 tablet
Yes, I saw it on my Win 10 Tablet
Windows phone also had that
@@superNova5837 ok, interesting.
This also exist in Windows 8 and 8.1 aswell (except Win 7 and older)
I love how most of those aren't even easter eggs, but just features - sometimes even basic ones, like Aero Shake or Slide to Shutdown, that just got accessed in a really roundabout way.
And of course, the Telnet thing. That blinkenlight URL is a server someone hosts, and not part of Windows 10. Any telnet client can connect to that.
In fact, you want a real easter egg? Ask Cortana how Clippy is doing, and he'll briefly appear.
@@BrightSpark it doesn’t work anymore :(

The telnet program isn't an easter egg. It just connects to a server and shows that. Works on Mac or Linux too.
4:22 congrats you discovered Aero Shake, been around since Windows 7
My favourite not mentioned in the video. Some hidden music on every Windows machine.
Go to My computer \ C:\ Windows \ Media \ onestop
Blew my mind as a kid
There are more tracks there too, like town and flourish.
@@narektorosyan863 yep, flourish.mid was used on the Windows 2000/XP's dxdiag MIDI testing.
I think that was actually used as a test for MIDI devices when those were widely used.
The telnet starwars isn't a Windows 10 easter egg tho... Its more like an Internet easter egg.
This is going to be a viral video in a few months
They are awesome! Nice work dude!
Nice! A new CHM Tech video
Microsoft finally owns doom
(2:00) That's not a Windows 10 Easter Egg, that's a thing you access from the internet by the URL. It's like saying visiting a website is a Windows 10 Easter Egg.
(5:50) Because you'll open the Task Manager anyway, it's easier to just locate explorer in the list and right click that and choose restart. It'll restart the explorer task only. Also, you don't need to add ".exe" when you run explorer.
(6:20) The only issue is that whoever made that feature though that time before date was a great format. So I get "16:40 2021-01-20", and it's really ugly. They should use the CLDR information of how to combine date and time.
I never thought of Shaking my Window to minimize everything. That's pretty funny
Fun Facts:
>Clicking the desktop and hitting ALT+F4 will bring-up a classic styled shutdown menu
>Clicking the top-left icon of any Window will give them the same early Windows menu, even double clicking it also closes the Window like they used to.
>people always hate the sticky-keys shortcut, but did you know there are other accessibility shortcuts?
~Holding down the Right Shift key will trigger FilterKeys
~Pressing the Left ALT+Left shift+Print Screen activates High Contrast mode
~Holding down the Num Lock key will activate ToggleKeys
~Not sure if it still exists, but pressing the Left ALT+Left Shift+Num Lock will activate MouseKeys (where you use the Numpad as the mouse)
What's fun about these is that all of the will work in any version of Windows as far back as 95.

Master Chief: mm hmm, I am a hard core Cortana person
I love this omg
Thank you so much
Thanks!😊
amazing video new sub:))
Nice video, mr. Chm :)
sheesh thats cool secrets and tricks
Oh U are Back!
Great vidja :)
Alright man alright..I'm subscribing!
Here's one thing you might not know: Pressing ALT+F4 on the desktop will open a dialogue box telling you how you want to shut down Windows
I was literally confused when I read Faster Eggs/Fggs in the thumbnail 👁👄👁👌
You deserve more views & likes bruh❤️
the telnet thing is not really a windows easter egg
It's the same in his Google Easter eggs video. Every time he said you had to press "I'm feeling lucky", you're leaving Google Search and is now on a third party site, therefore not an Easter egg.
It's like saying, "type: RUclips, then on I'm feeling lucky, and you can watch videos!". It's just stupid.
yep, and its been a thing since atleast Windows 2000 or XP. (telnet was disabled in Windows Vista and later [up to 10])
new video yay
I ❤️ your vids
:D yep it does work and thanks for showing me that dude
Nice eggs
😍😍THANK YOU😍😍
Thanks ✔
Blinkenlights is not made by Microsoft, it’s a telnet server on the internet that serves the ascii images to your telnet client, you can access it on mac and linux too.
Telnet is a protocol originally created to serve a remote shell so that someone could administrate a server from over the internet, or any computer network for that matter. It’s basically fully deprecated now (which is why the feature comes disabled by default, it never used to) and has been almost completely replaced by ssh, which is an encrypted protocol that does a similar job to telnet.
On the windows platform, remote shells have been largely replaced by remote desktops such as microsoft’s own RDP and others like vnc protocol, but enterprise networks still use windows remoting which is built into active directory, some admins even use ssh with ldap authentication instead of winrm for the encrypted tunnelling features it provides.
Only the first 2 items on this list are actually easter eggs
2:23 interesting photo :)
lol i saw that too. I think it's from cyberpunk 2077.
@@Zeekblitz ye it is xd
Very few of these are actually easter eggs, most are just neat features
Wow
Awesome
Telnet is an outdated remote control feature which is a mayor security risk, turn that shit off right after you've had your fun
Yes, it shows the stupidity. "Telnet is a funny feature, turn it on and just have fun. But that voice recognition need for Windows to understand what you're saying, _you better turn it off!!"_
Like, Google and Apple does the same thing, and that's fine. But when Windows does it, it's apparently a problem. Really shows the brainwashing going on.
The Telnet client itself isn't a security risk in that having it installed doesn't increase your attack surface. It's using Telnet over any network that presents a security risk because the protocol is unencrypted and unauthenticated.
good video
love that this comes up for 'hall of tortured souls'
legend
Shake to minimize other windows has been a feature since Windows 7
And emoji selector, Microsoft has actually documented that if you searched it on the internet
1:35 thought you were about to tell me to click on Bill's knee caps😵
??????????????
Hasn't that shake trick been around since Vista?
2nd one worked for me
nice
I just discovered your channel and you have earned a sub from me
5:23 this also works on Windows 8.1. I found out by trying the same thing on my computer that is dual booted between 8.1 and 10 with the main OS being 8.1
Thanks so much! I featured loads of these tricks on some of the videos I made!
love it how some of them are 'kinda. oh. yeah. I guess'
You should've mentioned that Cortana, as a virtual assistant, actually had the same voice actor as her character from the Halo games. On top of that, you should've included some of her connections with the Halo character, Cortana, such as being in love with Master Chief.
Nothing beats the Excel97 Flight Sim Easter egg!
4:08 that's actually pretty useful tbh XD
people not realizing he said "and or tricks" and not just "easter eggs, secrets"
Buff 2009’er
👍 hmm cool Easter egg
I don't want to be that guy, but from my understanding the telnet client on Windows is disabled by default because it poses a possible security hazard, blinking lights is cool and all and its probably the only thing I've ever used telnet for,
But you should tell, or at least remind people to disable the telnet client when they are done with it. 👍
Or just dont use it?? why do you have to disable it, its not a service lol
Yes, disabling voice recognition that is used by all voice assistants is apparently a bigger risk than telnet to these people.
👌 Now i know how people put Emojis in here. GG! 😁
👁👄👁
And people claim emoji is a mobile phone exclusive features, it's not. It's part of Unicode, and exists there just like any symbol does, like this one: ‡
Best Part 4:46
When he said delete system 32 I involuntarily out loud screamed Noooo!!! 😂😂 got me lol
A great idea, actually. Prevents 100% of ransomware. To be fair though, installing a BSD or Linux will block 99.999% of ransomware and 100% of System32 with less impact on productivity.
I got here before the vid got recommended. Bruhhhh
4:32 that existed ever since windows 7
Actually it was one of the selling points
It's odd that Aero shake, snap, and peek weren't in Vista (but flip-3D was). 🤔
Next point: you can drag and place the task bar on any edge.
Woooow
5:22 my co workers will hate me tomorrow lol easy to fix fun to watch
cool
👌👌👌
Totally not disappointed that it wasn’t Faster Eggs .-.
SHAKE WINDOWS is not an Easter egg, it’s a feature called Aero Shake that is present since Windows 7
Every Easter Egg is a feature.
i saw "faster eggs" in the thumbnail and i was like w h a t
Wow
Normal ppl: EASTER EGGS
Me: FASTER FGGS
eyy i love me some eggs
The Star Wars thing is not actually a "Windows 10" Easter Egg, specifically. It's been present in the Windows families for decades (actually it is not even a Windows thing, at all). It just happens that it is still around during Windows 10's life. And the "shake" to minimize all open windows is a feature introduced in Windows 7 as one of the new features added to Aero (introduced in Vista) that also happen to have been kept around, despite Aero itself being now long gone (sadly).
Explorer and all programs that are registered in the system variables can be ran without the .exe extention 😉
You also don't have to press Win+R, you can already run most stuff directly by typing in the start menu. However, Win+R is still better than those that say "press start, type run, press enter, now type regedit dot exe and press enter". Could have just been "press start, type regedit, press enter".
@@Liggliluff Yeah I love that feature.
4:47 lol i love u
I accidentally found the shaking one a few years back
you could also restart explorer.exe by opening task manager and right clicking on windows explorer and clicking restart
Using the Windows + {Period} 😉😉

4:28 i hate that so much, when im bored im sometimes jiggeling window frames around but then that shit hides, i mean its not easy to use since the cooldown is to long and when you accidentally acces it you need to fricing jiggle again to undo
Windows 10 now have new and more fast eggs
Aight then.
See ya in recommended
Damn y’all are fast
Extra speed, got here in under 20 seconds lol

I remember one time I used task manager to close file explorer, it closed it AND did the "exit explorer" thing. Pretty sure I was in a Discord call too. I had to restart my PC.
🙌
On windows 11 you can exit explorer via Task Manager by right clicking/End Task
How are your apps in the center of the taskbar?
