    The pad stuck to the ram memories doesn't seem to have any pressure marks as if it wasn't making good contact.

    if anyone wonders what an active backplate brings I can tell you on a 390w 3090, it will raise your liquid temp by 2-5°C and so yes your gpu and cpu temps will rise too but....overall the lack of heat radiating from the backplate into your top radiator and noticeably colder air exhausting your rear fan is worth it, the gpu is now the no1 heatsource in a computer and being able to output it out of your radiator rather than on your memory sticks (buildzoid from ahoc showed it was bad for memory up to 85°C temp going up to your ddr) is all gain..when I built my alphacool 4090 there was no active backplate alternative (EK was 150mm too long and unusable because blocking the top nvme cooler) but if bitspower has an abp block for mine I'll switch for sure, your room temp will also win btw because the few °C you gain in liquid will be properly cooled by your radiators and fans while the regular backplate heat mostly goes out straight into the room from your rear fan, with the ABP on the 3090 the rear fan air temp was like 35°C while gaming crazy difference compared to the regular hair dryer effect

    Awesome video, any plans for a follow up with performance?

      Yes with the v3000 build.

    bitspower watched EK HUGE GIANT downsides and fixed them, great !!! currently running an alphacool because EK decided to make a 350mm long cooler for my reference design PCB which is 200mm long, giant length gpus totally destroy case airflow really bad even on a everything watercooled pc, anyway they made an indentation near the PCIE slot because if you didn't know EK regular ABP blocks are incompatible with any kind of cooler above them, it touches...and this is in todays market incompatible with every mid-high range motherboard pretty much, awful design from EK

    Did you forget to screw in those two long screws holding in the terminal to the bottom water block?

      I did screw them in, just didn’t get it on video. But good pointing out

    Any comments on comparing the clarity of acrylics between brands? i.e. Bitspower vs EK, Alphacool, Heatkiller etc.

      Bitspower has the best finishing. Alphacool is pretty clear as well. Heat killer I recall using glass but probably not this gen

      I had a heatkiller trx40 block and it was as transparent as glass, EK is perfect and look is the no1 feature not cooling (heatkiller beats them everytime) alphacool on the other hand always look cheap, they have visible machining lines on the side of the gpu of my 4090 block (which works great when used with thermal grizzly kryonaut) the die side is clear but older alphacool blocks weren't my 1080ti one looked awful they are definitely improving, but you still see the led source which is cheap and don't look great, corsair was the 1st to understand you need to hide them behind a cover and ek followed

    Hard to beat the alphacool performance. That, however,is a beautiful block.

    is the backplate just teed off allowing flows in easiest route or is the water forced to go round both plates in sequence?

    • @fredEVOIX
      @fredEVOIX 9 месяцев назад

      sequence I haven't tried that one but might, I had an ek active backplate on a 3090 but dropped the brand since they started adding length and width uncontrollably to their blocks (who wants a 355mm block on a 200mm pcb ? wth) anyways the ABP will fyi add 3-5°C to your liquid temp and raise cpu and gpu temps in order but...the temp inside your case will be much lower because instead of that backplate heat radiating up into your top radiator it'll be exhausted by it, it's a win in the end I can tell you my room temp was colder with the ABP than without

      @@fredEVOIX Totally agree. with the EK size thing. what the hell is that black block stuck on the end for? to block half a fans airflow?? Its the main reason for looking at other blocks.. there too concerned about this dumb super 7 spacing that still needs adapters so that's pointless as well.. it will be the Bits power Orion or the Watercool for me both with end connectors near my tank helping with any sag

    im not a fan of the bitspower blocks, they imo are pretty ugly and outdated looking. I agree the backplates a huge let down
