I like the lock tight idea. I agree it's a problem. I have observed that free float feet for the 3085 isnt the only culprit. Also surgical staff when unlocking the table to rotate 90⁰ (example working on a right vs left upper extremitee) they begin to rotate the table befor the feet go up. I ask staff to wait for the unlock sound to stop before moving . What happens is a foot or feet can brush the floor thus rotating the foot. Whether the foot winds up or down depends on the direction you rotate. I have seen many times the bed is tested at begining of day and after the hand control does what you showed they just rotated the bed. It doesnt happen in one event. Its multiple events that lead to the problem. Let's say you rotated or moved the bed as I described 20 times then it could happen. On another note regarding the switches being crushed ? How many times do people move the table pushing with there foot? This causes the clips break or bend. Now you have a problem with the shroud cover. The shroud can then crush or move things under it. Good video,I give it a like. Also if the hand control does not work because of the feet lock/switches you can control the bed at the column. Toggle switches control trendlebergs,up,down, leg, back, foot regardless if bed is locked or not
A while back, the OR asked me to take a look at a dead 3085. Wouldn't move under battery or AC. The shroud had been noisy, so instead of reporting an issue, someone kicked it, denting the shroud & damaging the control module, then grabbed some WD-40, (i could tell by the smell,) and sprayed into the unit. It shorted out the PSU. Luckily, Steris still has PSU's for the pre-2004 tables. And now, all WD-40, Silicone, Moly, Lithium & Teflon sprays are locked up. Still not the stupidest "field repair" I've found. That would either go to the exposed live wire wrapped in Tegaderm on a bed used in ortho cases w/o iso power, a plug snapped off the cord, protruding from an outlet, covered in tape, the 20A fuses in a Rapidvac b/c "it kept turning off," or the use of red wall plates on non-emergency outlets b/c "we were out of white."
@@BetterBiomedChannelthanks. sir I have checked all the cables from the remote to table all are seems fine.and shows continuity. But I want to ask you sir the bettery and ac indicater is showing on remote. That is the actual problem .for our OT table.
I understand what you are doing, and why, but it is embarrassingly unprofessional. (Locktite and hot melt glue) Total amateur hour. The pin that the foot screws onto has a hole in it for a rubber plug, when properly installed adds enough drag to keep the foot from rotating, especially with your finger tips. The switches were damaged when the shroud was not installed properly also you are missing the plastic bumpers that go between the base and the shroud. The shroud is then held out to the side of the base. There should have been a ground wire from the base to the shroud that you don't want to break lifting it with a strap. The 3080 series is one of the best tables ever built, at lest until the shroud was redesigned to make it more water proof. Leaving the table locked is a good practice! Good Tip!
Hey Jerry, I would love to see the videos you've made to support the career field. Since you're the perfect biomed, I guess I could really learn a lot from you.

Nice work. Great lesson.
I know it's an older video, but I would have liked to have seen that hot glue section detailed. Maybe next time?
Thanks a lot
Great stuff!
How do you override the lock when the hand control is not working? My model does not have a rocker switch next to the pump
There is a button on the cylinder that engages the brake. Push that and the pressure is released.
Hello 👋 there I have with that table. The remote of table is not working. What would be the possible way to get it repaired. Thanks.
Often the internals of those remotes fail at the ribbon cable and I have seen the port itself fail due to shroud impact damage
