I along with at least 10 peers of mine from college before graduating applied for the INEOS apprenticeship at chocalote bayou in Alvin in 2019, and all of us even went to a staffing agency for a 3 hour apptitude exam, and after all that effort, 4 months down the road we all got emails saying the apprenticeship was canceled with no explanation why.
Why even bother advertising this INEOS? Her transition from student to apprentice doesnt always happen so easily. I have applied dozens of I&E jobs, and have not found a single I&E job willing to even respond to my apllication.
I really think there's three things that make this field very hard to get into.
First its a vicious cycle of not being able to get the job cause you dont have work experience, and you can't get the experience cause you cant get the job. Secondly, working in other job roles at the plants since graduation like laser scanning and heat treating services, ive noticed in the oil and gas industry its all about who you know. You may have the degree or a certification, but that only makes you eligable to apply.
9 times out of 10 they will hire they're friends, family members, or references.
Finally, there simply isn't a huge number of I&E technicians at anyone location compared to the operators, or contactors. Just a heads up to anyone thinking her accomplishment fairy tale story in the I&E world is common, its not....

To be fair, working around a boiler in the dead of summer is no treat.

Wish i could get into this field, got my degree, applied to jobs from CA to SD. still with no luck. I wish I was given a chance to work in this industry. I'll keep applying, and I guess if I'm working burgers then that's my life.

Pro-tip: lie your a** off on the application. In fact, it is kind of expected. Once you have that first job experience on your resume, it's a piece of cake getting new jobs.

True man. She probably started as a helper of some sort. Being a female. Already out her in front of those who probably know the job way better than her
