Ek Bus Ki Atmakatha - Energy Swaraj Yatra | Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, Solar Man of India

Energy Swaraj Foundation is a not-for- profit organization founded by Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki with a vision of being a leading voice in the action for climate correction, with an aim to foster a global public movement by encouraging the adoption of Energy Swaraj.
Energy Swaraj Yatra through a solar bus is undertaken by Prof. Solanki for 11 years for bringing awareness about climate change among masses. This yatra started in November 2020 and it will continue until December 2030. Prof. Solanki has also pledged that he will not go home and work continuously, 365 days a year for the cause. Prof. Solanki lives in a bus, which has facilities to work, sleep, cook, etc. All appliances within the bus are solar powered with a 3.2 kW solar system installed on the roof of the bus.
During the yatra, Prof. Solanki travels across the country, meeting lakhs of people, giving hundreds of lectures and guiding organizations including corporates, schools, colleges, regulatory bodies on moving towards a carbon neutral world in the most sustainable manner. So far he has travelled over 45,000 kms, met about 2,42,000 people and delivered over 800 talks in over 1000 days of Energy Swaraj Yatra as on November 20, 2023

I also pondered over it. May be the technology is not readily available in India to have Hybrid kind of power - Diesel + Solar. Day time, under the Sun journey can be done using Solar energy stored in the batteries. Diesel power can be used in case not enough charge on batteries in the nights and dark-days. That would have been awesome as no one wants a Green crusader's bus spewing black diesel smoke after delivering a great lecture on green house gas emissions.

Right, Dr. Solanki started his journey in 2020, given the conditions at that time. As he says , it's already too late and important that we all get together and bring a change to save our Earth NOW, rather than spreading critisism & letting humanity as a whole regret later.
