The Chord your referring to is a C#m69 or some think of C#m13. The real book is riddled with errors. But that makes my glad because Jazz should start with the ear anyways.
Hi John - nice playing and great analysis. Rather than join your Patreon for a month and rip you off. Can I buy you a coffee and get the BT + PDF for this lesson?
your feel is priceless ! love it man
Nice, man. Digging the improv in context! Cheers, D

Hi.
How do you get that magical guitar sound?
Reverb, delay,...?
😉
I've been playing mixolidian over the Dsus4 Fsus4 Ebsus4 then Db-mel over the Dbsus4. Open for any suggestions on getting "out" of that progression
I have no idea what Herbie plays over it, he goes so out there...
Db melodic minor would work totally yep. I kinda think the bog-standard would be C#dorian or B major, those can be the most "inside" sounding things?
All Herbie s thing is creating new sounds out of what he has already composed
John Cordy Jazz for Dachshunds Howling.
Fabulous! Thanks!

This is cool...
Dsus = D mixo (up a b3rd to) Fsus = F mixo
Ebsus = Eb mixo (up a b3rd to) C#m69 = F# mixo 🔥🔥🔥
Finally get this, thanks!
A really good sound, where did you get your backing tracks?
Great video
Wonderful!
