@@josieliftsthings True/ Spot on @ Keang Wooi Choo. It's called "belanja makan" (food treats). It is very common here that sometimes people just pay without even telling. We pay for someone whom we think is likeable or we deemed as a good guest. I think it's initially based on the Islam influence but it is so widespread now, that every Malaysians (muslim or non-muslim) do it when we feel someone deserve it.

    1. Roti Telur Bawang (with egg and onion)
    2. Roti Sardine
    3. Roti Sarang Burung. It translate to Roti Bird Nest. But what it actually is is a roti cooked in a ring shape with 2 sunnyside up fried eggs in the center. The roti is cook with loads of butter. Its best eaten with a portion of mutton curry and dhal.

The one you had with double semi boiled eggs was actually Roti Tsunami, not just normal Roti Banjir.
Roti Banjir (flooded roti) is only roti with flooded gravy but tsunami is another level with the semi boiled eggs.
I had once found these menu below in a small roadside restaurant in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. These are their own interpretation of roti levels in the 'Disaster' theme.. hehe:
    - 1 level up of Roti Tsunami is Roti Puting Beliung (Tornado Roti). It is exactly like Roti Tsunami but 2 plain roti(s).
    - Another level up is Roti Taufan (Hurricane Roti). Still exactly like Roti Tsunami but instead of plain roti, its base is actually Roti Telur (Egg filled roti)
    - Then they have Roti Gempa Bumi (Earthquake roti). Using Roti Sardin as the base and flooded like Tsunami...
    haha

Thats so yummy. Really mouthwatering, I prefer iced Teh tarik rather than Neslo. To me it's kind of too sweet. Anyway enjoy your stay in Malaysia. Come to National Park in Taman Negara, Jerantut Pahang. Experience the true nature.

When buying roti, i'd personally ask the store if they have dalcha. If they do, i'd get it and eat it with roti. Dalcha is more thick and mild compared to the usual curry that we'd eat with roti but its amazing.

the thing about malaysian is they to proud of their food so that sometimes they just want foreigner to know the "taste" of malaysian. That why they keep feeding you. Some of them is kind enough to "belanja" / pay for you. Because they wanted you to taste malaysian food. That is how proud of malaysian with their food. That why the incident when in mastercheft UK when the judge called rendang not crispy malaysian and indon outrage.
Ive live in langkawi for 7 years, and meet a lot of foreigner because langkawi is actualy international holiday spot. Sometimes i just cant help myself to recomend foreigner to taste local taste espcially on street food rather than expensive hotel food. Because street food is much better than "most" hotel food in malaysia. Sometimes i just cant help myself seeing foreigner who mistakenly drink/eat something not they way it suppose to be drink/eaten.
