Bobby Slowik to Tennessee makes perfect sense. He has an established relationship with Ran Carthon already and his scheme is perfect for Tennessee's offensive personnel
I think out of the Qbs I'd still easily take Herbert, because he's shown he can produce without the situation being perfect or even good around them. For Love it's too early too tell still I feel, but he'd probably be the next one
So I typed this when they initially asked the question, but since we all basically agree it didn't end up adding anything lol. Still don't feel like deleting it
Brian Flores, Mike Vrabel and Eric Bieniemy should be the top candidates. There’s a lot of great coaching options this go around. Ben Johnson and Mike Macdonald will be great. I just don’t see how u can look at the body of work from those 3 and not think they’d immediately slot in as elite coaches.
Nahhh we underrate the hell out of Herbert. He’s played for an awful team his whole career, overcame that, still looked excellent, and tricked y’all into thinking that the Chargers were a good team. Herbert is still a top 5 QB. If he went to Miami or some vaguely competent team he’d be a consensus top 3 QB easily. Not to take away from Tua Hurts and Love. They’re all studs. Literally the entire class is underrated imo.
As a Washington fan, I would not love that move. I don't see that as likely. I don't think Bieniemy did a bad job, but I don't think he did a good job. He has his strengths and weaknesses as an OC and perhaps he could develop into a good one, but I don't want him as the head coach.
If Tennessee is really cutting Vrabel for Slowik, it's an incredibly risky move. Yes, Vrabel has a lower ceiling and is "old fashioned". But Slowik has had 1 year of playcalling to any degree. There's only so many of these "young offensive gurus" who work out. I think people are biased because he's skinny and younger looking like McVay/Shanahan. If he was larger like Arthur Smith he'd have less hype 😂
I doubt this had to do with looks it was more of a philosophic approach they went a guy who is offensive minded but yea I think all titans fans would prefer Ben Johnson tbh give him a blank check and let him write whatever he wants
I am begging Jody Allen to can Pete Carroll if he won't let go himself , and go after Slowik if the plan is offense, or MacDonald if the plan is defense
Just imagine the narrative if detroit loses to LA. The best their team has been in the modern era, would be happy with 1 playoff win. Just for their former beloved QB to show up on a down year and end their hope.
Sorry but there is no way dallas fires McCarthy. That would make absolutely no sense judging how hes gone 12-5 the last 3 years and has been a great playcaller for the majority of this year. This is the only consistency Dallas has had since the 90s.
Im about to start spreading some horrible rumors on the internet about Mike Macdonald so nobody hires him.
i heard he eats children 😧
I heard that Bobby Slowik makes chilli out of discarded fetuses. Idk who would ever want to hire that guy

Love has been phenomenal the last 8 weeks but to say none of these guys have a better sample than Loves 8 weeks is to erase Herbert’s 2021 season imo
And his 2020, 2022 and 2023 seasons were all better than Love’s 8 week stretch
I think your really underselling how good Love has been and being a touch nostalgic about what we saw from Herbert.
I think Marcus gave Frank Smith to both Washington and Carolina.
Frank Smith was not available, he was given to the Commanders, so who would you give to the Panthers? Canales?
There have never been as many QB good enough to win a superbowl, probably some are still sitting on the couch seeing what Flacco is doing

If I’m Washington I’m making Eric Bienemy the head coach.

Who do you think would be a good hire for Seattle?

You’re not wrong, but Vrabel is already gone, that part is set in stone. So you have to pick someone to hire, and who is that going to be?
Would the Commanders consider Eric Bieniemy? Hiring from within seems smart. I know there is some weird energy with him but worth a listen.
